Chapter 49

Jake

After thirteen hours they were finished. Aldrich came out to me.

“ Her body seems to be accepting the new change. We'll keep monitoring her”.

“ She shouldn't wake up. Or you can let her wake up for a few hours. However under no circumstances should she see what she looks like. She will know what happened because she had a previous face transplant.”.

“ We'll keep her lightly sedated. It May take at least a month before she's better and ready to travel”.

“ That's fine with me. The payment was already made. When she's ready to leave the last set will be deposited into your account “.

“ Very well Mr Woods. I'll set her up in a room where you can have someone watch over her to make sure she isn't awake “.

“ Thank you Dr Aldrich”.

I left and headed back to my place. Teo , Landon and Sherry will take turns watching her . When I got home it was two in the morning. The minute I walked up the stairs, Landon was looking at me .

“ Jesus fucking Christ Landon. You almost gave me a heart attack “.

“ Sorry Boss. I didn't want to leave her alone upstairs in case something happened. I just”.

I figured he found out or she told him she was pregnant because that's the way she viewed him. I just shook my head.

“ I'll head down,now that you're here “. He headed towards the stairs.

“ It's okay Landon. I know you're worried about her, especially now. Whenever I'm not around make sure you or Irene or one of the others are always close by in case”.

“ I know Boss. Sherry knows too . We'll all be careful with her”. He said walking down the stairs. I opened the door and saw her in bed. I was a jealous person but somehow the way she is with Landon has never bothered me and I always wondered why.

It took me a while but I found out it was because I could trust her completely. When she Said something she meant it. She was open and honest and she never gave me a reason to doubt her except when Alexis returned as her. But the minute she returned she was the same.

I grabbed a shower and got into bed with her and waited for it. It took a few seconds but she sighed in her sleep. That made me smile. She always draws into me even in her sleep. I held her and drifted off to sleep.

When she woke up I knew,I felt her staring at me. I grabbed her and pulled her in.
“ Morning princess “.

“ Good morning babe”.

“ Can I sleep for a while “.

“ Of course, I'll be downstairs with Landon”.

I felt the bed dip and drifted back into sleep.

Avery

When Jake came down it was almost lunch. Landon and I were looking at the laptop. He came and kissed me.

“ Hi love, have a seat and watch “. I said pulling him down next to me.

“ Landon, that screen is too damn small, it's going to screw with our eyes. Plug it into the tv”.

Landon moved and connected it. He took some cookies. “ What are we looking at love?”.

“ Well I figured that Renee knew we weren't in either of the houses so she'd try to find a way in. Earlier Irene called and said she saw her sneaking around. So I had Irene Lock your office and our room. I had her and everyone hide. Look like she's running “.

On the screen Renee was running down the stairs screaming. Jake looked at me confused. I just rolled my eyes.

“ I had Irene call the woman that pretended to be my mother. Renee is locked in the house with her , Irene and Esther and she can't get out “. I said laughing. Landon started laughing too.

She was running throughout the house and whichever room she went to , Irene guided the woman there. I couldn't stop laughing. I saw her call someone.

“ Landon the volume”.

Shit she's calling the police. Jake's phone began ringing. He didn't hide it from me , James was calling. He answered and put it on speaker.

“ Woods are you and your wife screwing with Renee Peterson right now?.

“ Yes James. We're not home and she's sneaking around in our house. She's just seeing the ghost of the woman she killed that's all”. I said

“ Fine . I'll go over in half an hour.she called me all frantic”.

I saw a car pull up to the driveway.

“ She called Garrett “. Jake said.

“ Okay, I'll be there in ten minutes. It's trespassing”. He said, ending the call.

“ Landon let Irene know to keep her for ten minutes and my father is outside “.

“ Yes Mrs Woods”.

Jake was looking at me. “ What ?”.

“ Sometimes I forget you're a teenager. It's only when you act like this that I remember”. He said, stroking my face.

“ I'm not a teenager. I'm your wife “.

“ Yes you are “.

During lunch we watched as Renee and my father tried to explain to James as to why she was in our house. In the end he took her to the police station.

The following weeks were amazing and relaxing. Jake spent most of the time with me. We went to dinner,the beach. For walks. It was basically everything we should have been doing. He assured me no one in Bennington knew him so it was okay. It was our last week here . Jake was at the doctor's office. I was one month pregnant and throwing up like crazy.

I was sitting in the living room watching a movie when he came in. He came straight to me. “ Everything okay?”.

“ Yes. Aldrich said she's fully healed and everything is okay. We're going back to Ryedale. She'll wake up in five hours, which leaves us three hours. The minute we get back home I'm going to send the video of Renee admitting everything to Garrett and Janice McLean”.

“ And Alexis?”.

“ Dr Aldrich's wife said while checking her up she found out she's pregnant. So I'll leave her in your house, have everything shut up and covered as if I was never there. I'll call Renee over telling her we returned. We'll time it right and I'll let Janice and Garrett know she's at the house. When the confrontation starts , I'll have Shawn post the video all over the internet.James and see the outcome “.

“ Okay Love “.

Jake

I had Sherry pack our stuff up and we headed to the airport. Teo was already in the jet with Alexis. She's been sick,her morning sickness was no joke. It didn't happen the first time. When we got to Ryedale it was three in the afternoon. The minute we got home everyone knew what they had to do.

Teo put Alexis in her old room. Landon sent the video to Garrett and Janice and told them where Renee was. Avery texted Renee with Alexis's phone telling her she was here. Avery was in the kitchen with Irene, Sherry, Esther and Landon. I was sitting in the living room when Renee came.

“ Jake, you're back. Where's Avery?”.

I heard a car pull to a screech outside and saw Garrett looking like he was about to murder her. I looked at Teo and nodded. He knew to call James. Renee saw Garrett.

“ Garrett what happened did some….”. That was small she could say because he grabbed her by the neck and began choking her. “ YOU FUCKING EVIL BITCH”. He backhanded her and she fell over her mouth bleeding.

“ Garrett,what?. What are you doing?”. She asked. He walked to her and kept hitting her. I didn't say anything.

“ I SHOULD HAVE FUCKING TRUSTED MY DAUGHTER”. he yelled as he continued Hitting her.

I heard another car and Saw Janice rushing in , James and another police car was behind her. ,the minute Janice walked in and saw Renee,she made a beeline towards her.

“ YOU UNGRATEFUL FUCKING WHORE”. she yelled, hitting her in the mouth.

James came in with two other officers , he stopped them from intervening. We all heard screaming coming from upstairs. A few seconds later Alexis rushed to the top of the stairs.

“ WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING IN MY HOUSE?”.

I guess she forgot to look in the mirror. The minute she was at the bottom of the stairs, Garrett grabbed her and began hitting her.

“ NO GOOD FUCKING WHORE JUST LIKE YOUR BITCH OF A MOTHER. YOU KILLED MY FUCKING DAUGHTER “.

This was an all out commotion. Sherry was live on social media so was Landed,two , Esther and Irene.

“ Jake Help me”. Alexis screamed.

“ Why the Fuck would I help you?I don't know you. Look in the mirror bitch ”. I said standing up.
