I pulled the chair closer to my desk and started reading the documents, showing I was done with that conversation. Suzanne looked at me and smiled. It was close to lunch hour when the door opened and He walked in with Shawn behind him.

After Shawn made the introduction they left. I didn't look at him. A few minutes after they were gone. I overheard Their conversation.

“ Omg Jade , How Did you manage to snag him?He's so hot”. I heard Elise say.

“ Oh please it was easy, because he loves me”. Jade said. I was done with this shit. I pulled my phone out and texted him.

Two minutes after putting my phone away the door burst open and he walked in with Shawn behind him.

“ I forgot something. Shawn, who was it that said , "I was having an affair with them? that I made out with them?”.

Okay, I've never heard that tone before. Everyone went quiet.

“ Ms Williams “ , Shawn said quietly.

“ Which one is That?” he asked, looking at everyone. Elise, Andrea and the others pulled aside leaving Jade standing in the middle of the floor.

“ You ?. Let me make something fucking clear. I don't know you, I've never seen you before. Weren't you warned already about spreading rumors?. I will say this one fucking time. I am married and no other woman stands a fucking Chance. You're fired, Shawn get her out of here ”. He said walking out of the department.

Holy shit. Suzanne and I, along with everyone else, were looking at Jade. She looked embarrassed.

“ So it was a lie?” , Elise said, smirking at her.

“ Let's go Jade . You fucked up, clean your desk out , I'll be back in two minutes with your termination papers”. Shawn said walking out.

“ WHICH ONE OF YOU FUCKING WHORES WAS IT?” She yelled looking around. Everyone was shocked at her outburst.

“ Excuse me?, you're the one that lied and now we're whores. Bitch dream on”, Andrea said walking away towards her desk. I just shook my head and continued working.

Jake

After leaving her department we were heading back towards HR, when the message came and I knew exactly what it was about. The last time that bitch said that shit, she almost wanted me to leave her. Fuck no, I wasn't going to make anyone fuck with her.

I could tell I surprised her with my outburst. Because her eyes had that look in them. When I got back to my office Landon called me.

“ Boss, there's a hit on Mrs Woods,well Avery Anderson “.

“ What ?”.

“ Someone's put a hit out on her . A hundred Grand. Four people took the offer. Get her out of there now boss. I'm already on my way back. I'm ten minutes away“. He said, ending the call. I called her And she answered immediately.

“ Avery,Get to my office NOW. Use the elevator in the building, DON'T GO OUTSIDE “. I said. I heard the shot then screaming. I was already out the door and heading towards the elevator.

“ Princess?”.

“ I'm okay, I'm okay. I'm inside. Suzanne. She's hurt”. Her voice alone Told me she was scared. I heard another shot then her screaming. The minute the elevator doors opened. When she looked up and saw me she instantly shook her head. I knew what she meant.

“ What the hell is going on here?”, I walked over to them. I saw Shawn running towards us.She was looking at the girl on the ground, covered with blood.

“ Ms Anderson, are you hurt ? “. She was going to cry. She had blood on her shirt.

“ No Sir , I'm okay, Suzanne?”.

“ Shawn , Get Them to the Hospital now. Landon ,Find out what the hell happened here“.

“ Yes Boss “.

I stood looking at everyone in the lobby.

“ Does anyone have an idea what happened here?”.I knew what happened but I couldn't let anyone think about it.

“ No Mr Woods. Everyone was leaving for lunch when we heard the first shot. We saw Suzanne fall over and Avery grabbed onto her . Then the second shot and Avery started screaming”. One of the girls from the finance department say.

“ Okay. It's safe to say everyone is a Shaken up , Call it a day for today, Everyone should head home. Vance?, Inform the police of the situation and have Shawn update me on how the two employees are doing “.

“ Yes Boss “.

I left them and headed back to my office. Once there , I changed into sweat pants and t-shirt and went to my garage. I grabbed her helmet and bike and headed straight to the hospital.
I found Shawn in the emergency room, I didn't take my helmet off.

“ She's okay, Just Shaken up. Suzanne is in surgery. She's in a room around the corner “.

“ Thanks Shawn. Someone put a hit out on her, Landon found out but not in time”.

“ Fuck. Sorry. It has to be her family ”.

“ Landon will get to the bottom of it”.
I left him and went to her. When I walked into the room she was sitting on the bed. The minute she saw me she ran to me and held onto me.

“ I'm scared Jake”.

“ It's okay. I'm here . Why don't you lie don't and try to get some sleep. I'll be outside okay. I'll be right back “. I knew she was scared because she called me by my name. I put her to lie down on the bed.

“ Okay ”

I just stepped out of the room when Landon walked over.

“ Sorry Boss, I tried to get back as soon as I could. There were more than one of them. Teo and the others are after them”.

“ It's okay”.

Shawn came over to us.

“ Is she okay?”.

“ Yes . How's the girl?”.

“ She'll be okay”. He said quietly.

I took a moment to let it skin in. Just hearing her scream like that, set me off. I was fucking terrified to be honest. I've never not once had these feelings before and here she was pulling everything out of me without even trying.

After Shawn spoke with the doctor he cleared her ,but she wanted to stay until the girl was out of surgery. We stayed for three hours until the doctor informed her that the girl was okay. I had Shawn contact the girl's family and the company will take Care of the financial aspects.

I left the bike with Landon and took the car. The entire drive home I was on alert. She was quiet and I knew she was thinking. When I drove through the gates,I saw that sigh she let out. I parked the car But didn't get out. I don't know how she's going to take this.

“ Princess we need to talk”.

“ Okay “. The way she said that okay, I knew she was waiting for the ball to drop for me to say something that would hurt her.

“ Someone put a hit out on you. There's a bounty on your head baby girl and what happened earlier today is just the beginning”.

She turned and looked at me.

“ Prenup ” ,she said looking at me. Did I just hear that correctly?.

“ What did you just say?”.

“ You have twelve hours to prepare a prenup for me to sign. I know we're already married but still.”

“ No ”

“ Yes , You'll get it and I'm signing it”.

She opened the door and got out of the car then walked into the house. What the fuck just happened?.

When I went in ,She wasn't downstairs so I figured she was in our room. I headed into the room and stopped short,She was crying. I went over to her and held her .

“ Suzanne pulled me away”.

“ What ?”.

“ I was walking In Front of her and she pulled me behind her then I heard the gunshot. She knows or she saw the shooter before me and pulled me aside. That's Why she got hurt and not me” , she said between tears.

“ She's going to be okay “.

“ No it won't. They'll keep coming after me and what if someone Finds out I'm your wife and something happens, I don't know but when everyone Finds out they'll probably try to get at me and do something to ruin your life. You've worked hard to build your company,I don't want you to lose that.Please Jake, you said you would give me anything I wanted “.

She said holding onto me. Fuck tell a woman you'll give her anything and mine wants a fucking prenup nothing else. She was more concerned about me losing my business than me losing her.

“ Okay, I'll do it for you. I'm not happy about doing it but I'll do it On one condition princess “.

“ You're not going back to work . I can't have you out in public until this is resolved. I'm sorry princess. ”.

“ Okay. I'll take this time and complete my assignments” ,

I thought she would revolt at that But she didn't
