Chapter 46

Avery

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Jake kept holding my hand. I looked at the laptop.

Alexis : Does anyone else know about this?

Renee : Really Alexis? I'm not stupid,if I was I wouldn't be sitting here. As I was saying, I pretended to be her friend for almost a year pretending I was a single mother. My boyfriend Jilted me when he found out I was pregnant. She would buy presents for me. Haha. It was shortly after the New Year. I went into labour and neither Garrett or Rory or Janice showed up.

After I returned home with you, I found out that Nadine was pregnant and Rory took his wife and daughter on a family trip. I was so fucking mad. I was a fool to think Garrett or Rory could be mine. For an entire year Garrett didn't visit me or call. He still deposited money though. Janice and Rory returned a year after they left. Janice called me but I didn't have much to say all she did was brag.


Garrett wanted to visit me to see you . I got angry at him,and so did Rory. He called saying he was sorry he left but he had to for the family business that he missed me. I told them no. I didn't see Nadine for months, I called her But she never answered. One day I went by their place and saw them. Garrett, Nadine and Avery . They were a happy family.

I had had enough and decided it was me or Nadine. I didn't want Rory anymore. So I went back home and decided on the best course of action. It took ten fucking years but in the end I got Garrett. I called Garrett up and made him choose. I didn't have to. Apparently Nadine was just happy being a mother that she began ignoring Garrett and he came to me himself.

I reconnected with Nadine. I bought some of those expensive herbal teas that she loved to drink. I laced every single one with strychnine and gave her a present. I watched as it took effect, slowly killing her. I figured she would give it to Avery Also but she didn't. Janice had no idea ,she hated Nadine but I didn't think she would be a part of it so I did it alone. Every Time I saw her she looked weaker and sicker. Back then medicine and medical treatment weren't so advanced either.

When you Hit eleven it was a full out war, you wanted to know who your father was and why he wasn't in our lives,I always made sure you were never around when Garrett was there. The night I told you about Garrett I knew he would be there the next day and I knew you would come home and find him and he would have no choice but to tell Nadine.

Alexis : I remember that day. He said he would tell her as soon as he got home. He would divorce her. I told him he had one week or I'll go to his house.

Renee : Yes, however,he called me the next morning from work and said Nadine refuses to give him a divorce and he can't leave Nadine. They've been together for so long and she's sick he can't leave her. He said he sent all the house help away because he would take care of his wife because he loved her.

I knew he was at work and he said no one but Nadine was home. I had reached my limit,so I went there. I stopped outside the gates and then walked in knocking on the door. Nadine opened it looking pale and drained. I acted like I was surprised to see her and told her I didn't know she lived there. My car wouldn't start and I needed to call a tow truck. I said I forgot my phone.

She didn't hesitate to let me in . I used her phone but didn't call anyone. I pretended to. I asked her what happened and she gave me the story of Garrett wanting a divorce. I asked her to use the washroom,and she pointed me upstairs. I saw she was weary so I went upstairs but after two minutes asked her to Come up and see something. I was standing at the top of the stairs waiting for her.

When she came up, I looked down and asked her Who was that? When she turned,I just gave her a little push and down she went.

Alexis : Jesus mom.

I started crying, hearing her speak about killing my mother. Jake held me and let me cry.

“ I can't believe this . I knew there was something else to Nadine's death but not this “ , Irene looked shocked and terrified at the same time.

Renee : Oh shut up. I always get what I want and have every intention of having Garrett. I went downstairs and she was still fucking breathing,there was blood coming from her head. She refused to fucking die. So I stifled her. I made sure she was dead and left. No one saw me there and there was no proof.

I went home and remembered I told you to relax and be patient. Everything will work out.

Alexis : yes.

Renee : Exactly. I know Darren Dugard,he was the medical examiner. I paid him off and had a little fun with him making sure the real cause of Nadine's death never surfaced. He was under the impression we would be together, but after a year when Garrett and I officially got together he found out so I called him to the beach one night. I knocked him out with sleeping pills and killed him by drowning him. Now only you and I know this.

Alexis : Well Avery and her dear mommy are together. Serves them right. Aunt Janice and your idea of kidnapping Avery , killing her and having face transplant surgery to look like her and take over her life was genius mom.

Now how do we deal with Jake?.

Renee : Must I teach you everything?. Well Avery wasn't legally married to him so pregnancy is the way. Trap him with a pregnancy. But you need to drug him first.

Alexis : How he doesn't eat here.

Renee : idiot. You managed to go over to his house yesterday. I'll get you a camera and you'll face it towards the kitchen. We'll watch what he eats and drinks then you'll know what to drug.

I looked at Jake. “ Jesus Christ ”. He smiled, “ Teo Get the double. I'll have dinner with Alexis and her mother “.

“ Yes boss”.

“ Irene, make sure whatever it is , you have a replica of it and give her a chance to drug it. Landon will keep watching to let you know what she's doing. Make sure the lights in her room doesn't work, as a matter of fact take the lightbulb out. Let's get to it. Landon , save that recording. When we've fully dealt with Alexis we'll release it. I'll call James personally “. Jake said.

I stood up and went to our room. He came in ten minutes later and just held me while I cried. “ She killed her, she just killed her all because my father refused to leave her. Why Did she kill her? ,I hated him . I thought he knew that he didn't love her, that's why he wasn't around”. I said through tears.

“ He was forced to be with her , I hated him for not being there when she died. Why didn't he try harder “.

“ It's okay princess. I'll let him know the truth. Janice McLean Also. I'll show them the recording and I'll give them the choice of leaving you alone or getting their lives destroyed”.

“ I love you Jake. Please don't ever leave me”. I held him tighter.

“ Never baby girl, I won't ever leave your side. No one can ever make me leave you. I love you and I'm yours. Don't cry anymore please “.
