Avery

When I walked out of the closet and heard what Landon said I stopped short. I walked over to them, Jake just looked at me.

“What happened Landon”? I asked

“From what I heard, your father was leaving the dealership when a black sedan Hit him and drove off. Ms. McLean was leaving work when a black sedan hit her too and drove off, same thing happened with Renauta. They were rushed to the hospital. I haven’t heard anything yet about their situation. I already have Teo checking into it. Avery the car that hit all three of them was described as the same car you and your cousin saw”. He said with a look of seriousness that I knew what it meant.

Landon left and as he closed the door, I looked at him. As I was about to say it when Jake beat me to it. “Before you ask the answer is no princess, you’re not leaving this house for anything. I’ll Go and check on Garret and Your cousin. If need be, I’ll let them stay over at your place and have Esther or sherry take care of them”, he said and, in that minute I, loved him even more.

“Thank you love. I just…. I know it was bad between us but they’re the only family I have left. You need to check on your mother also”, I said looking up at him.

He looked down at me. "You better prepare yourself because the minute this house is quiet, I’ll be deep as fuck in you and I’m not leaving you until I’m satisfied”, he said taking my mouth. I moaned into his mouth as he grabbed me picking me, my legs around his waist and he walked toward the bed. He pulled away and looked at me. “I’ll be back if I start now, I won’t be able to leave”,

Jake

When we left for the hospital, Landon was quiet and more alert. There were three security cars with us. Who the fuck was making moves on my family now.

“Landon has Teo reported anything”?

“No boss, it’s as if the car doesn’t exist”. I heard the static of the walkie talkie.

“Shit boss, wear your seatbelt we got incoming”, Landon said, drawing his gun. I heard it before I saw it. The Security car behind us was hit.

“Daryl Floor it”, Landow said rolling down the window and he started shooting at the car. He managed to hit one of the tires.

“Shit. Landon if it was her instead of me…. Fuck take me to the police station first. I need to speak with James. Avery and Amelia”. I said

“I texted Damion Boss. They’re alert”, he said

When we pulled up the police station, James was just walking out.

“Ahh shit what happened now”? he asked.

I told him exactly what happened. He stood for a minute scratching his head. “Look I don’t wanna say this, but I think someone is working behind the scenes. I heard what happened to Garret and Resa. I mean Resa was fucked up but I see her now trying to change and be a good person so that must count for something”.

“Teo is trying to find out about the car”. I said

“I have a picture that Ms. McLean took I’ll send it to you so you can check it out”, Landon said looking at him.

When we got to the hospital, the first person I went to see was Garret. When I walked into the room he was sitting on the bed. The minute he saw me he tried standing up. He had cast on his right foot and left arm. He had some bandages, cuts and bruises.

“Oh Mr. Woods. Did something happen to Avery”? he asked, looking behind me.

“Jake is fine. Avery is okay, she’s at home. What happened”? I asked

“I was leaving the company; I had just closed for the day and was walking across the parking lot. I swear that car was waiting there. I know the lot is supposed to be empty but sometimes, the boys park there so I didn’t think much of it. But now I think back it was the minute I stepped onto that parking lot I heard the car start” he said

“Did you see the person”? Landon Asked him

“No but what I did see was a pair of gloves. Black maybe leather holding the steering wheels”, he said.

“Your niece was also hit by the same or a similar car” I said looking at him to see his reaction.

“Resa? Do you know if she’s okay? Is she here in this hospital? Is she hurt?”, he asked , franticly and I could see that he was truly scared.

“I’ll go see her now. I’ll be back” I said walking out of the room. With a little help we found her room. When we walked in, the doctor was about to leave. She was awake but couldn’t move both her legs and one of her arms was in a cast. I looked at the doctor.

“My cousin-in-law. How bad are her injuries”?

“Mr. Woods, I didn’t realize you were related. Well both legs and an arm are broken in three places. She is just out of surgery, her spleen was ruptured, but she is okay now”. He said

“Thank you”.

I walked over to her and looked at her, I didn’t like her but for Avery’s sake I would put my dislike aside.

“It’s a man, tall not like you but like him. He has black hair”, she said

“How do you know that”? Landon sked her

“After he hit me, he got out of the car. His back was to me. I saw his hair peeking out of the hat he was wearing. He had one hand on the car door, he was wearing black gloves. The fingers were cut out”.

“Garret was hit also” I said

“It’s the same car. The one I showed him. Avery Knows the car”

“We’ll look into it. I’ll leave a security detail here with you. I don’t like you but for my wife I can put my dislike aside because she still considers you as family. When you can leave, you’ll go to Avery’s house and stay there with Garret and my mother”.

“I am sorry”, she said quietly.

When I found my mother’s room, Lelia was sitting beside her. When I walked in, I stopped and so did Landon. She was sitting on the hospital bed. A few bandages but nothing was broken.

“What Happened”?

“A car hit me while I was leaving the mall. I probably wasn’t watching where I was going, she said.

“What color was the car”? I asked her.

“It was a White SUV”, Renauta said. hmm, a different car from Avery’s family.

“Any injuries”? I asked

“No. I’m okay. The doctor cleared me to leave”, she said smiling. Landon’s phone began ringing and he stepped outside.

“Okay then. I’ll have one of the security details take you home”, I said

When Landon walked back into the room, he looked at me. “Teo found the car, but the driver isn’t the same as Ms. McLean said, Teo has him waiting for us before handing him over to James”.

“Okay. Have Daryl take them home, we’ll head over there”, I looked at my supposed mother. “I’ll see you Friday for dinner”, I said walking out the room.

“Boss, Teo Had Patrick scan the CCTV footage around the mall. There was no accident there”, he said quietly.

“Resa and Garret I believe were hit by a car, she doesn’t have any injuries so I know she lied. Why I don’t. Landon you’re forbidden from telling Avery anything. Let this drama play out let’s see what’s really going on”

When Jake came back home it was almost ten in the evening. I was sitting in the living room waiting for him. When he saw me, he smiled instantly and came over to me.
“Sorry I took so long. He said kissing me”.

“It’s okay. Go take a shower , I’ll have Esther prepare your dinner for you”, I said standing up.

“Amelia”?

“Asleep”,

“Okay. Dinner can wait. I can’t”, he said picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder and walking up the stairs. The minute we were in the room. He ripped my shirt down the middle and grabbed my breast.

“Fuck Princess, they’re bigger” he said leaning down and taking one of my nipples into his mouth.

“Jake, wait” I said trying to stop him. He walked me backwards to the bed, he was over me as he continued his assault on my nipple.

“Fuck this shit is addicting. No wonder Amelia’s always crying for the tit” he said switching nipples.

“Oh god, Jake. Please I need you”. I said fisting his hair.
