We were in the car,I would drop her off at college then I'd go to work. She was three weeks pregnant and I didn't want to think about what could happen. She was quiet.

“ Landon Teo will become my driver. Avery is pregnant, watch her for me please”.

In the past few weeks life had settled down and it was making me uneasy. It was now late November and she was two months pregnant and it was good. Her exams have started so she's been busy. We were having dinner and I could tell she was waiting for me to say something. I don't know how she'll handle it.

” Jake ?”.

“ Yes Love?”.

“ Jake , I'm waiting”.

“ I need to Head back to New York. There's a meeting coming up,a closed door meeting with heads of states and government officials. It's a six week meeting. I won't be able to contact you or leave the base”.

“ Okay”.

I looked at her immediately. Did she just say okay?. I put my fork down and looked at her. She was smiling.

“ Babe. It's not like I can stop you from going. If I throw a tantrum it still won't help so it's okay as long as you promise to make it up to me “. She said licking her lips. I grabbed her and took her up to our room.

She followed me out to the car and stood looking at me.

“ Dean or Mia “ ,she said looking at me.

“ Who …..” I understood that she had already chosen names for our child. I couldn't help but smile. I kissed her and said goodbye to her.

On the way to the Airfield I was out of sorts. It honestly felt like I was leaving half of my heart in Ryedale. I know she can take care of herself and Landon was with her. Shawn would Also check up on her but still I needed her .

Before we left I texted her and she replied immediately. I smiled. When we landed in New York I checked the time it was six in the evening back in Ryedale so I called her as I got into the car.

“ Hey baby,How was your day?”.

“ It was okay,it was strange coming home and you weren't here. There's a rumor going around college. Alexis is going to study abroad. I don't believe it Jake. I asked Landon to check for me, " she said.

“ Okay that's good. I miss you already. I'm heading over to the Pentagon now. I'll speak to you on Friday, the latest okay”.

“ Okay. Be careful and I love you “.

I ended the call Just as we got to the gates. I showed my ID to the security guards and we drove in. When we got out,I looked at Teo.

“ Teo my phone will remain with you.My wife is my top priority if she calls ,answer and let her know where I am. If anything happens, come to me right away “.

“ Don't worry boss. I'll make sure to call Landon everyday to check in”.

I let out a sigh of relief “ Thank you “. ,I guess my security details understood she was more important than everything else in my life.
