Jake

She looked shocked. James and the others parted them away from each other. I looked at Irene and the others and they turned their phones off.

“ Did you actually think you and these fucking idiots could pull something like this off?. She's too fucking stupid, no matihiw much or how long she tries she could and will never be Avery. Princess?”.

She walked out of the office and straight over to me. I could see the shock on their faces. They really didn't expect her to be alive. Thank God I had asked Landon to teach her or she really would be dead.

“ Oh god you're alive. Thank God, you're alive. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.”. Garrett said and I saw the relief in his eyes.

“ Ohh Alexis, Aunt Janice , poor Renee. Everything is out in the open now. All of Ryedale and Brighton know what you are. All three of you. Aunt Janice ,I never did anything to you but you simply hated me because they made you and because of Who and what you thought my mother was but Then again you're so twisted that it wouldn't have made a difference if they made you hate me or not”.

“ Dad ,oh I'm sorry Garrett. Your name is Garrett to me because you renounced me as your daughter and the lovely lady over there is the one you introduced but even then she's not yours. Didn't I tell you what she would do to you, I told you she would ruin you. I hope you're proud of her. Did you hear how your precious Renee killed your wife and tried to kill your daughter?. Did you hear how she plotted against you?. How she used you , You should feel proud of the woman you're with“.

“ Oh Renee…..I knew you had something to do with my mothers death , I Did warn you I would prove it and I did. What?, let me guess you're confused?. You'll find out soon. I gave you a chance,I gave each of you an option to take the money and leave me alone but you didn't and now well whether you all go to jail or whatever happens with your lives is not my fault, It's the consequences of your actions “.

“ Sweet sweet Alexis. I did warn you. Jake did warn you ,he made it clear not fuck with me ,no one listened. The whole amnesia plot , they didn't believe it . They knew something was wrong but , what they didn't know exactly . When I got away and showed up at Jake's office, that was the day he came home and showed you the contract that I drew up. Do you actually think I'm that naive to get into a contract with someone?. No matter how much I hated my life and how desperately I wanted to escape you people I would never do something like that “.

“ You fucking bitch “. Alexis screamed.

“ Oh please save it. It was so much fun fucking with you. Irene, Sherry, Esther, Teo, Landon and I had so much fun watching you and mommy dearest run scream and squirm from seeing ghost”.

Alexis started smirking.

“Did your beloved Jake tell you that he slept with me. I'm sure pregnant ”. She said smiling as if she had won a prize.

My princess laughed in her face and she looked confused.

“ We aren't idiots like you and mommy dearest. we knew all about the drug plan.The same time while you were screwing some random guy thinking it was my husband. He was in another room .So good luck finding your baby daddy cause it ain't my husband and he has no idea Who it is”.

I looked at them. “ I told you not to fuck with my wife didn't I?. Now I won't be giving any warnings , I'll be going straight for the throat. Garrett ,stay out of Avery's life unless she asks you to be a part of her life “.

“ I understand and I don't blame her”.

He said walking out. James walked over to Janice, Alexis and Renee and started reading them Their rights and putting handcuffs on them. Alexis started fighting and resisting. She managed to punch one of the officers then kicked the other.

“ YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS AVERY,I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL MAKE YOU FUCKING PAY FOR THIS”.

Guess they'll be adding the threats, resisting arrest and assault to a police officer to her list of assaults. I don't think Janice will go to jail so I had Shawn doubling down on Their business partners and investors.

Avery

The minute they were gone, I felt a sense of relief. I let out a sigh. I looked at James.

“How long do you think they'll get?”.

“ Honestly I'm not sure ,but a judge may order us to exhume your mother's remains in order to find evidence of strychnine and if it is there.Then Renee will definitely be spending a lot of time for double homicide. We've been looking into Darren Dugard 's Death. Darren was a swimmer in highschool so his death had raised concerns now we know exactly how it happened “.

“ Okay, that's good. Thank you James “.

“ It's okay, snugs”.

“ Dammit James”.

“ Okay, okay. I'll inform you on the situation later”.

After he left Irene and the others locked the house up, not before throwing all of Alexis's stuff into the garage. We headed back over to our place. Once back home I felt relieved.

My phone started ringing,I answered.

“ Mr Winston. Hello..yes I'm fine,yes Jake is with me. I'm safe. Thank you, I'll visit you tomorrow. Okay you too “.

I ended the call and looked at him.

“ He saw the video online. He says the entire college is in an uproar. I guess everyone will understand what they're truly capable of now”.

“ And that's what we need, princess “.

Jake's phone was ringing. He answered and put it on speaker.

“ Yes James ?”.

“ She escaped. Alexis. She started throwing up so we stopped about twenty minutes away from Avery's place. We got her out of the squad car to the side of the road so she could throw up and she kicked George and took off Running into the forest”.

Jake

Fuck. This girl was persistent.

“ We'll put a warrant out for her ,get more security for Avery. Because that's Who she's coming after “.

“ I will”.

He ended the call and looked at me.

“ Irene Landon?”.

“ Yes Mr Woods?”. “ Yes Boss?”.

“ Pack your bags and pack our bags. We're going abroad until they find Alexis. She pulled a runner “.

“ Yes Boss”.

“ Jake, we don't have to leave. You have work “.

“ Shawn can handle it. I'm not giving her any chances to get to you “.

“ Wait. If we Both leave she'll know and she'll stay hidden. Let me go with Landon and Irene. Hire more security for the house so she believes I'm still here. Have Sherry leave covered up so if anyone is looking it'll seem like I'm still here and she'll try to get to me”.

I didn't want her out of my sight but she was right and I didn't want to admit it. I took her hand and led her to my office.

“ Princess, I'm…”

I started pacing the office. I wanted her safe but I didn't want her to leave. I know Landon and Sherry would watch her and keep her safe. She stood in front of me blocking me and she just hugged me.

“ I'm scared that I may lose you princess”.

“ You won't Jake . I promise I'll be careful,I won't go anywhere, Landon and Irene will take care of us. I don't want to go without you but, you've been spending so much time protecting me that you haven't been working properly”.

This one girl , a god damn eighteen year old girl,my wife changed my entire life. In the short time that she entered my life she became my everything.

“ I love you princess. I'll let you go , please be careful and I'm calling you three times a day”.

She smiled. “ If you don't, I'll be pretty mad at you”.

“ I will. I promise “.

I kissed her and she melted into me. By seven that evening she was gone. Twenty three more security guards were added to the house. Teo was in charge of them. Sherry and Esther knew to keep everything locked up tight. That night I couldn't sleep , I found it hard to Sleep without her ,our bed smelled like her. I did something that I've never done and that was lock my room door and windows.

I got maybe three hours of sleep in total. When I woke up and turned I expected her to be there but she wasn't. I got dressed and before I headed down, I called her. She sounded sleepy.
