Chapter 53

Avery

When we left the island it was Six in the morning. When we landed in Brighton,I came straight to the hospital. For four days I sat besides his hospital bed just praying he woke up. Irene headed home to get some stuff for me. I checked on Sherry and Esther. Sherry was shot in the leg and Esther in the shoulder.

I told Irene to take care of them at home. I made sure everyone was okay and stayed with him. Shawn came twice a day to check in on us. After the second day , I guess Landon got worried and told Shawn about the pregnancy because they Both took me as a prisoner to the doctor's office to have him give me a check up. After he assured them I was okay and the baby was okay they relaxed and took me back to Jake's room.

Irene cooked and sent food for me and Landon.when he opened his eyes the relief I got was tremendous. I've been getting calls from James, Mr Winston,Mr Wilson and everyone else that knew we were married about his condition. After the doctors came and checked him up. I sat with him feeding him some soup that Irene made. He said hospital food Tastes like wet cardboard and I couldn't help but laugh.

Shawn knocked and came in. “ What happened?”. He looked at Jake then me. Jake just shrugged,as though he wasn't interested. “ Umm , Everyone knows. All of Brighton knows that Avery is Mrs Woods. People were piecing it together after the whole confession hit social media and news outlets but someone said it full out in a post on social media. I had PR and a few of my guys try and find the source but it can't be found “.

I looked at Jake and he didn't seem too bothered by it. “ Well we couldn't hide it forever”.

“ I know but the most recent one is we've got people coming out of the woodworks saying Avery is a minor,and Avery did something to them. We've got students from the college saying all sorts of stuff about her”.

I smiled , “ Of course I'm bad. They'll try to ruin my reputation now ,make it seem like I'm the one that ruined Alexis's life. That's coming next “.

“ Okay then , You, Shawn and Landon can deal with this however you chose to”.

“ Thank you,love. Shawn let Them keep going. They're waiting for me or Jake to say something to defend my character and his choice of wife. Anything we say will get twisted around in their favour so we wait and see how far they'll take it. The News channels should be swarming the hospital soon , Please tell Landon to get more security here. Shawn Please make sure our home address isn't put online “.

“ I will. I'll keep watching and let you know as I find out more “.

After he left Jake was looking at me.
“ What is it?”.

“ Are you okay?, Is the baby okay?”.

“ Yes, Two days ago Shawn and Landon dragged me to the doctor for a check up”. I shook my head,he just smiled and caressed my face.

“ I'm proud of my choice, princess. I'm happy you're my wife and with every new day you show me in so many different ways that I was right “.

“ Well I'm happy I didn't run and you didn't let me run away “.

Jake

She stayed with me in the hospital. I had them add another bed so she would be comfortable.. I've been in this hospital bed for over a week and she hasn't left my side. I wasn't complaining because she was taking care of me. I was going over some papers Shawn had brought when I heard the news reporter on the TV. I looked up and saw a reporter running after Garrett. I looked at her but she didn't look up

Reporter: Mr Anderson is it true what people are saying about your daughter Avery? Are their accusations true?.

Garrett : You and every single fucking person in Ryedale and Brighton would have to be idiots if you believe all that shit .

Reporter : So it's not true?

Garrett : Of course not. Only women try to tear other women down. Look at me for example. The crazy woman I was with Killed my damn wife, instigated me and my sister to hate my daughter when she had done nothing wrong. Alexis did what she did because she was always obsessed with outdoing Avery. Anyone that truly knows Avery knows that she is a kind soul.

Reporter : And you approve of her marriage to Mr Woods, Even though he is quite older than her?.

Garrett stopped and looked at her.

Garrett : There are multiple eighteen year old girls that are with men older than they are,why is Avery's relationship front and centre? It's because of Who she's married to. Yes married, he married her because he wanted to not because he was forced to. Leave my daughter alone and stop spewing bullishit.

He walked away and left the woman standing there. When I looked at her ,she had tears rolling down her face. I pulled her and held her to me. “ It's okay baby”.

“ This is the first time he's ever defended me and truly meant it”.

“ I know. He regrets what he did to you”.

I told her about When he came to my office. He was really and truly trying to fix it. We laid there for a while. She was busy with her phone. She got up to use the washroom , I was now starting to relax when the door pushed open and Zach Morrison walked in with a gun pointed at me.

“ You, YOU AND THAT FUCKING BITCH AVERY RUINED MY ALEXIS “.

Okay he was going off the deep end. I wasn't worried, I knew the VIP rooms had cameras installed. Wait how the fuck did he get in here? And where was Landon?. His back was to the washroom so he didn't see when she came out or when she raised the gun at him. Where the Fuck did she get a gun. Fucking Landon, I'm kicking his ass and dealing with her . These two were going to give me endless trouble, I could see it already.

“ You're already in deep shit Morrison. I suggest you leave now”

“ NO. I'LL RUIN THAT FUCKING WIFE OF YOURS. I'LL MAKE SURE ALL OF BRIGHTON HATES HER. MONEY IS POWERFUL ALL I HAD TO DO WAS PAY SOME RANDOM PEOPLE TO START BASHING HER A SPREADING LIES ONLINE. BECAUSE OF YOU TWO MY ALEXIS IS PARALYZED “.

“ Boy if you're going to shoot me go ahead and shoot,stop talking Shit. Alexis ended up that way because she's crazy and twisted”.

“ Drop it Zach “. He turned and saw her and immediately pointed the gun at her.

“ Avery, Love no”.

“ Alexis Already shot you. I can't let you get hurt again or I'll probably lose my shit Jake. Go ahead Zach shoot. You shoot me and I'll shoot you let's see who lives “.

“ YOU FUCKING BITCH”.

“ Avery No “.

He pulled the trigger and so did she . I think I zoned out because I saw the blood on her shirt. But Morrison fell backwards. I got off the bed and grabbed her.

“ Princess, Why would you do that?”.
I began checking her, He shot her in the shoulder. I just held her ,I heard the running and the door opening. Landon, Teo and the doctors Rushed in. I saw it , you had to know Avery and Landon to see it ,but I Saw it . He looked at her ,then Morrison lying on the floor then the gun and he smiled.

“ Get this fucking bullet out of my Wife now”.

Landon picked her up and took her out. The doctors followed him. The others checked Morrison but he was dead. She shot him to the head. Irene and Shawn forbade me from leaving the room. They said Landon was with her and so was Sherry. James came and asked what happened. I told him,he just smiled and said he'd get the security footage.

After three hours she came back into the room. Landon looked uncomfortable because I kept looking at him.

“ Boss, Please don't. I can't disobey your orders nor can I disobey her orders”.

I didn't say anything, I just kept looking at him. I figured Teo and James were in on it too

“ It's fine Landon , go ahead tell him ,he already saw or suspect that's Why he's staring at you “.
