Shawn and I were standing by the elevator. The men had just left. It was part of the contract for the heads of states. I checked the time,she should be out of the clinic by now. I headed to my office. Before I could call her , Landon was calling.

“ Boss?”.

“ Yes Landon?”. I was already starting to become worried.

“ Nothing bad happened but something seems wrong with her. Irene noticed it too”.

I listened as he told me what happened,I got down to the garage and had Daryl drive me home. When I got home she wasn't downstairs. I saw Irene and she came over to me.

“ After she came out of the doctor's office she was just quiet. She wanted to come home. She went straight to the room and hasn't shown herself since then. She's okay, she's just sitting in the room, quietly. Something was said in That office “.

I headed up to the room. When I opened the door and walked in the second she saw me she started crying. I was next to her in a second. “ What happened, Love, talk to me”.

“ She…she.. said our baby would be deformed “. She said through tears.

“ She said because I was using Contraceptives “.

“ Who's the fucking idiot that told you that shit. It's not true baby girl, I promise”.

She just held onto me and cried. I looked at her. “ Love no. That won't happen “.

“ What If it does. It'll be my fault”.

I grabbed her hands and took her downstairs. “ Landon Let's go. Take us back to the clinic ”.

“ Yes boss “.

I got her into the car and held her to me as she cried her heart out. Landon looked worried. When we got to the clinic I got out and took her back into the clinic. It was empty.

“ Who was it?”. “ That's her boss ” , Landon said, nodding at the woman walking towards us.

“ Mrs Woods, Mr….”
“ ARE YOU A FUCKING IDIOT?”.

“ Excuse me?”.

“ I said are you a fucking idiot?. Who the fuck gave you the right to tell my wife that our child would be deformed?”.

The door opened and Rusland walked in.

“ I'm Back….. , What's going on here?. Mrs Woods what happened. Why is she crying? WHAT DID YOU DO?”. He was looking at the woman.

“ Dr Rusland. I just told her because of her usage of Contraceptives that it's a possibility that the child would be deformed “.

“ Are you stupid Vanessa?. Go and get Mrs Woods Chart and read it”.

She walked away. “ I'm sorry Mr Woods. She's my apprentice. I had an emergency and needed to leave”.

She came back with the folder. “ Read the third page “. She opened the folder and began reading. “ I… I mu.. I must have missed this”.

“ Must have. You do not tell patients that. Mr Woods was concerned he had every single test done. Their child is healthy. I'll be contacting the hospital Director and reporting this. This is unacceptable. I want you to apologise to Mr Woods and his wife”.

“ Mr y, Mrs Woods. I'm extremely sorry for what I said. It was wrong of me to assume that and not being fully aware of everything “.

“ Rusland, I'll let it go. But let this be the first and last time anyone other than you takes care of my wife “.

“ It won't happen again Mr Woods. You have my word. Mrs Woods I'm really sorry. Your child won't be deformed. I'm sure ”.

I looked at her and cupped her face. “ see love. It's okay. Please don't cry anymore ”.

“ Okay “.

I got her back home and put her to bed. She was still hiccuping. After she was asleep. I headed down and told Irene what happened. I saw Landon heading towards me. “ What is it ?”.

“ Vanessa Lilian was starting something. I saw the way she looked at Avery while you were speaking to her. I already contacted James. He said he would handle it”.

I looked at him. “ You really care about her”.

“ Boss, I've been working for you since you were twenty years old. Even though no one knew who you were, I was watching over you . All your relationships I've seen and I've met a few you thought were right. But none of them are half the person she is. She is kind and considerate. She's not fake. She means what she says . Look at the way she treats all of us when someone else wouldn't even be concerned with us. She's like my little sister and nothing more. You helped me and Andrea. Now you have what you always wanted and I aim to make sure it stays that way “.

“ Thank you Landon”.

I headed back upstairs and she was awake. I got into bed and laid with her. I pulled her into me and held her. My mind drifted back to when I had just started out .

“ What's on your mind?”.

“ Landon. When I started my business, I didn't know what would happen. I was twenty when Zion Corporation became known. I needed a Bodyguard but the recruiting companies didn't have anyone that interested me. One day I was out and about Riding when I stopped at a cafe. That was the day I met Landon. I was sitting at the bar and he was there.”

“ He looked tired. Normally I wouldn't ask but I did. I asked him what happened ,that he looked like he had problems. He smiled and said everyone has problems. He was Job hunting at the security firms but had no luck. I offered him a job as my security detail. I told him I couldn't pay him a lot but as my business grew it would get better. He said yes, he said it doesn't matter that I would succeed “.

“ I don't know why he said yes but he did. I asked him about himself. He said he's trying to work and save up so he could get married to his girlfriend one day. For six months Landon stood besides me , without complaining or without any negativity. He was doing what he was asked to do. One day I had an important meeting. If it went well , Zion Corporation would be on the map. That was the day I made my first million. Well a couple million “.

“ I didn't have anyone to share that News with. As I was heading out of the conference room. I overheard him on the phone. Andrea's parents kicked her out because she was with him. He told her to go to his apartment. That he was rarely there that he'd be over soon “.

“When he saw me he ended the call. He didn't ask how the meeting went, he just asked if I was Ready. On the way back to my apartment. I asked him what happened. He didn't want to tell me but he Did. When I got back to my apartment. I didn't need to think. I asked him how Andrea was going to get to his apartment. He said she would take the bus. I Told him to take the car and go get her.”

“After he left, I did some searching and found apartments. I left with my bike and went and checked some out. I called him and told him to come to the address and bring Andrea with him. I bought their first apartment for them fully furnished. I was there when they got married. I told him that even though I bought the apartment for them , I still couldn't pay him a lot. Andrea said it doesn't matter How much or where they lived as long as they were together.”

“I told her that Landon may be away for months with me. She said she trusts him and it would be for their future. Andrea stuck with Landon. Sometimes we spent months and months travelling. When I made my first billionaire,that was when I hid myself away. I gave Landon two Million and sent him home to Andrea for three months. All Landon said was he would be Ready whenever I needed him”.

“Landon is the highest paid security detail and I don't care or mind it. To this day he and Andrea are still together. She works and lives normally. Landon had always said he wants me to have what he has with Andrea and he said now that I've found it he's going to make sure I keep it. That's Why when he's off, I give him Three months. Since I met you he hasn't gotten his three months. He cares about you like a Big brother and I know he won't ever let anything happen to you or our child “.

“ He's kind , he's just like Junior and James. They were like brothers to me. Give him some time off before the baby is born, I'm sure Cassie misses him”.
