Avery

“ Forty thousand per month “ I said quietly. Which was a lie. My salary was double and I knew it was Jake that Did it , but I wasn't going to tell them that. I saw Their eyes go wide.

“ Did you even meet anyone important?”, Alexis asked with a scoff.

Just then a car pulled into the driveway,I saw Shawn get out. He walked over to us. I saw the shocked look on their faces.

“ Ahh you must be Ms Anderson's family. Sorry for the intrusion. Avery I forgot to mention it to you. You'll need a passport ”, he said looking at me.

“ Why ?”, now I was confused

“ Well once a month we have a meeting with Mr Woods. That is all Heads of department , The VP and the compliance officer , sometimes Mr Woods likes to have a spontaneous meeting and sometimes you leave for work in the morning and end up in Harrisburg county by twelve and seeing as Mr Woods is usually in different countries we need to travel in order to meet him.”, he said looking at me

“ Mr Allen, that's no problem, I'll make sure she gets it done as soon as possible ”, my Dad said.

“ Very well then, I'll see you at work on Monday Avery and welcome to Zion Corporation”.

“ Okay , Thank you Mr Allen ”.

I watched as he walked back to his car and got in. Why does He need me to get a passport?. Probably Jake. I turned around and found Renee and Alexis looking at me with a scowl on their faces.

“ Avery, I'm proud of you. Why don't you get changed and we'll go out to dinner tonight to celebrate this special occasion ”, he said smiling at me.

“ Dad, we have dinner tonight at the mayor's place ”, Alexis said. Smirking at me. Of course any attention he paid to me was never accepted by them.

“ We always have dinner there ”, he said, shutting her down.

“ Dad, I'm not really up to having dinner. I'm fine . I have to study. I have two more exams “. Hopefully he doesn't bring it up again.

“ Very well , next weekend we can celebrate”.

“ Okay. Can I ask for a Lock for my room door, seeing as I'll be working for Zion Corporation, I may bring home documents that are confidential ”, I said hoping I could have some privacy.

“ Sure I'll have Damion do it tomorrow”

“ Okay, thank you ”.

Jake

I forgot to mention the passport so Shawn volunteered to go after her , he said he wanted a good look at the people in her family.

I had just grabbed a shower and was heading back down when he walked in.

“ That fucker is nice to her because she's important now, because she's working for Zion Corporation. Those two women are going to be hell to deal with. I didn't like the looks on their faces ”, he said

“ I know and she knows too”. I saw Irene walking in.

“ Irene, please come over, I need to ask you something “ .

“ Yes Mr Woods?”,.

“ Who do you know in the Anderson household that you can trust? Avery is working for me and I need to make sure they don't do anything to her” .

“ Everyone. Damion the security guard at the front gate, Esther and Sherry. They're always watching out for her”. She said

“ Okay, let them know they'll be paid well . I want to know about everything Said and Done in regards to Avery”.

“ Okay, I'll Let them know ”. She said walking into the kitchen with a smile on her face.

I forced Shawn to stay for dinner,he left after dinner. I was in my office, when I called her. She answered on the third ring but I didn't say anything.

“ Hi “. She sounded out of breath .

“ Princess, what were you doing?”,

“ I just ran up the stairs. I was with Sherry and Esther”.

“ Have you eaten dinner yet?”.

“ Yes. I have, I promise”.

At least she knew not lie to me.

“ Where are they?”

“ They left for dinner at the Mayor's place”. She said , with a breathy whisper.

“ What time will they be back?”,

“ I'm not sure. Why ?”.

“ I want you here with me”. That was the truth. I liked having her wrapped up in my arms, just the way she felt and smelt. I walked out of the office and headed out towards the gates. I nodded at the security guards as I walked out And headed towards her place.

“ Jake”.
“ Yes princess?”.
“ Can you teach me to Ride your bike?”,

Now that's a good idea, I could take her on my bike. Fuck , I needed to stop my Train of thought. I needed to see her.

“ Okay. Come outside to the gates “.

“ What?”.

I could hear the door opening and her running down the stairs . Fuck she didn't ask Why she just did. I was standing in the shadows.

“ Avery, is everything okay?” It was probably the security guard.

“ Yes Damion it's okay. Can you open the gates for me ,please ”,

“ Sure. I'll keep watching to Make sure they don't see you outside “.

“ Thank you “.

I heard the gates opening, I saw her step outside.

“ I'm outside ”, she said out of breath.

“ Walk to your right and don't stop”. I said ending the call. I grabbed her as she walked past me.

“Jake”.

I pulled her into me nuzzling her neck, fuck she smelled good. I grabbed her ass and she shivered.

“ Jake”

“ I just needed to see you for a minute”, I said, taking her mouth. I looked down at what she was wearing. A boy shorts with a tank top. Fuck she looked so young and fuckable. This girl was going to drive me insane. She wrapped her arms around my neck and returned my kiss which was a first.

I couldn't help but fist her hair harder as I pulled her tongue into my mouth,she moaned. I stopped And looked at her. Her face tinged with a bit of pink.

“ Sorry “, she said, removing her hands and looking away. I grabbed her hand and put it back around my neck, I turned her face back to mine.

“ Never be ashamed or afraid with me, princess. I said you were mine and that goes Both ways, I'm yours and only yours “. I said taking her mouth again as she melted into me.

“ I have to go”, she whispered against my mouth.

“ Okay,go ahead. Sweet dreams princess “.

Avery

I walked back inside quickly. Damion just smiled. Halfway down the driveway I heard Damion say they're coming so I ran all the way back into the house and upstairs into my room. I sat on the bed with my books, I turned the phone on silent and hid it under my pillow.

When my father walked into the room, he just looked at me and left. I know he wants to yell but he won't because Now that I would be working at Zion he'd be able to brag about it and it made me disgusted that he was like that.

I sat studying until I heard the doors closing. They went to bed , I was waiting for her. Like ritual Alexis walked into my room to taunt me. She's done it every single night.

“ Don't feel you're important just because you landed a summer Job at Zion Corporation. You're not that special, you'll know your place soon ”, she said walking out and slamming the door.

I continued studying until eleven. My eyes opened at four which was normal. I was about to get up and get ready when I remembered he said to use the car. So I went back to sleep. I woke up around six after my shower and I finished dressing. I grabbed the phone and put it into my bag.

I walked over to her vanity to get the keys and it was gone. I just shook my head. Of course it was gone, that's usually their MO. I went downstairs and passed them in the dining room.I didn't say anything.

“ Avery Come have breakfast ”, my father said.

“ I can't or I'll be late for my exam”.

“ You won't, you can drive, now come sit down ”, he said

“ I can't drive. The keys are missing from my room. I left it on the vanity Last night and it's no longer there so I have to Walk. I'm fine ”,

“ Use my car”, he said

“ Garrett, I need your car today. She can walk , it's not like anything's changed ”, Renee said, snarkily.

“ It's fine I'll walk ” I said walking out the door.
