Chapter 15

Avery

It felt so good to take back control. Now it all made sense,my father's attitude. All Jake said was the house was mine, I needed to know how he knew. I got into the car and drove out. I couldn't go to his place because I was sure they would see ,so I would head to the beach.

Minutes before I left Ryedale a car pulled up behind me. I pulled aside so they could pass but they didn't. There was a S turn coming up on the road. Suddenly I felt the car lurch forward. I sped up and they followed me. I didn't want to take my eyes off the road to get my phone. I was about to make the turn when the car rammed into me again sending the car off the cliff.

When I came to , I was upside down and my face was wet. My eyesight was blurry , I closed my eyes for a few seconds then opened them. I saw my bag, I grabbed it and grabbed my phone. I dialed the first number I could.

“ Ms Avery?”.

“ Landon, I had an accident, someone ran me off turnsdale road , I may pass out again, the car is in a tree.help me”.

Jake

I was going over some emails, when I noticed my phone hadn't ring in almost an hour.It was Dead so I charged it. I was still in the office When Irene rushed in.

“ Someone ran her off the road, she's bleeding. She called Landon , he just left “ , Irene said, I saw the worried look on her face.

“ Where?”.

“ Turnsdale road, that's basically a Cliff”.

I ran out to the garage and grabbed my jacket and helmet and left. Shit , please let her be okay. I raced down the road, just hoping she was okay. I never rode so fast in my entire life. When I pulled up around the corner, the police were there. I saw Landon. He saw me too , I was about to walk over to him but Shook his head no ,so I stopped.

I saw the ambulance leave and my heart started beating too fast for fucking comfort. I rode the bike back to the corner. Landon pulled up next to me.

“ I told the police I was heading home when I saw her car being rammed off the road. She said they followed her as she left Ryedale and waited until they got here. she had mostly cuts and bruises luckily she was wearing the seatbelt. She said there wasn't a license plate, she said she passed out after the car went over the rails and she dialed the first number she could, she's coherent so that means there's no concussion”.

“ Thanks Landon. Which hospital are they taking her to?”.

“ Brighton General,the police already contacted her father. I'll put out some feelers and find out what happened and who did it”.

I just nodded.
“ Wait , she was supposed to be at home,why was she on the road so late?”.

“ She said something about her father's sister to ask Irene or Esther “.

“ Okay, have someone at the hospital keep an eye on her”.

“ Yes boss”.

I Jumped back onto the bike and headed home. The minute I parked and walked into the house Irene ran out of the kitchen.

“ Janice is here. Esther called me”.

“ Who ?”.

I listened as she told me what Esther said happened.

“ Janice is evil, more than Renee and Alexis. Garrett can not say a word against his elder sister. She always made it known that she hated Nadine, Avery's mother.She was always pushing for Renee and Garrett to get married but it was Nadine instead. She had hurt, Avery badly , almost killing her. That's why I was fired from their place because I wouldn't let her hurt Avery “.

Fuck.

“ Renee wants Garrett to publicly Denounce Avery as his daughter and Introduce Alexis as his daughter. They're both his daughters. Alexis was born before Avery , because Garrett and Renee were lovers. Garrett had to Marry Nadine because of their family business going bankrupt. Janice didn't like that ,He was still seeing Renee while he was married to Nadine and Janice approved of it.” ,Irene said

“ How do you know all of this?”, I asked her.

“ Mr Woods, we're Servants. We meet and we talk. Nadine never knew, she was only concerned about Avery. There's a rumor that Renee and Janice know something about Nadine's Death. Avery was the one that found her”. She said

I sat down and looked at her.
“ Avery found her mother?”,

“ Yes. The day before she died. I wasn't feeling good , I didn't want to leave her alone but Garrett said he'd be at home and he would take care of her. So I took off. I didn't know that he had given all the servants a week off. I was told that when Avery came home from school,she found Nadine , lying at the bottom of the stairs. She was ten years old. She tried waking her up and when she couldn't, Avery ran out and started yelling for help. Garrett was nowhere to be found in that house ”. She said, looking at me.

I guess I could trust Irene.
“ Do they really hate her that much, she's innocent,she has nothing to do with that “.

“ It doesn't matter to them , she's Nadine's Child, in Their eyes Garrett abandoned them because of Nadine and Avery. So now that Renee is in control she's going to make life miserable for Avery. Whatever Alexis wants ,she gets and Renee will do whatever she has to in order to give it to her daughter and that includes murder. I know Avery is young,but she is also smart,kind, respectful and loyal. If you are sure about Avery and I mean Very sure, Mr Woods ,I suggest you marry her and put a stop to whatever plans they're making. Because they won't stop until they've ruined Avery or until she's dead “. She said as she walked out.

Marry her ?. Hmm. I went to my room and sat on the chair .Would she want that?. She is of legal age, but she's so young. I've never thought of getting married until Irene brought it up.

I sat in the dark and kept thinking about her. I avoided women because of their nature. They're love for money and the finer things in life which they want a man especially like me to provide them with. She wasn't like that. When I gave her the phone and laptop ,the car ,the jewelry she didn't even bother to check any of it . She just said thank you,she was grateful. She asked me to teach her how to Ride nothing more.

She didn't act like a devious person, she was appreciative of my time. Those six weeks that I took her to school,she never asked a single question, never tried to find out who I was ,she was just happy and content to have that small window of freedom.

Yes I care about her , I will admit I'm in love with her. But would she want to be tied to me for the rest of her life?.

I grabbed my phone and called Shawn.

“ What can I do for you boss?”.

“ She had an accident. Someone ran her off the road. She called Landon for help. She's at Brighton General,can you go over and have them put her in a VIP room “ .

“ Sure but people are going to talk, they're going to assume something is going on between me and her”. He was concerned.

“ Doesn't bother me as long as she's okay, it's just until she's well enough and I can marry her ”.

He started laughing

“ Okay okay, I'll get on it right away “.

I ended the call and sat there. It no longer mattered to me if people knew my name or saw me. If she agrees then I'll have to keep her identity hidden “.

Avery

When I woke up I was lying in a hospital bed. The nurse beside me looked at me and smiled.

“ You're awake. You're okay, you're in the hospital. I'll get the doctor ”.

I just laid there,thank God he gave me a phone or who knows what would have happened to me. The nurse walked back in with a doctor.

“ Ms Anderson, you're awake. What do you remember?”

I Told him what I remembered.

“ That's good, there's no concussion or any serious issues, no broken Bones or anything. You're an extremely lucky young lady. Just to be on the safe side we'll Keep you overnight ”.

I saw Shawn walking towards us.
“ Jesus Christ Avery,What happened?”.

“ Hey I'm good”.

The doctor looked at him.
“ Mr Allen, I wasn't aware you knew Ms Anderson. We called her parents but no one has shown up yet. We're keeping her overnight just to be sure”.

Of course they won't come, Janice won't let him. I didn't care whether they came or not.

“ Avery is my employee, Carlson. Have her sent up to a VIP room for tonight “

“ Okay Mr Allen”.

After they moved me up to a room. Shawn just stood there texting someone.

“ Your dad didn't come?”.

“ Nope and he won't. It doesn't bother me Shawn. This is a normal occurrence in my life”.

“ Do me a favor and be careful okay. He is here ”. He said walking out the door. A few minutes later the door pushed open and he walked in. He walked straight over to me ,he pulled the helmet off and looked at me.
