Chapter 30

As the explosion echoes outside. Levik starts walking away and says over his shoulder, "that must be alpha Jason, I'm sure he'll get to you before the explosives go off in this building, until next time alpha Black". I wait a few seconds before I drop myself to the ground. Walking over to my dad, I stand before him and say, "to think you'd actually get held hostage you really are getting old". He looks up at me in shock which turns into amusement and then pride. "Sapphire...so it's been you lurking behind me the entire time," he says with a sense of relief. Taking out some medicine, I put it in his mouth. "Swallow it dad, it should help as mom heals you both,". I pop the chains from his wrists and he immediately hugs me, "Your mom is okay?" he asks squeezing me tighter. "Yes she's okay, I think you can feel it right?...this is going to pinch a little," I warn as I give him the stablelizer. Giving him my shoulder as support, we start to walk towards the door. "Sapphire, why are you wearing a ski mask?" he asks curiously. "Dad this isn't the time for this conversation" I answer trying to avoid telling him, "We've got to get you out of here". You're acting guilty," he says as he leans onto me some more, but as we get out of the room 5 rogues were running towards us. I let go dad and go at them. It only took me three minutes to deal with them. "You're stronger," he comments. "Maybe you're just getting old dad," I say as I kick the exit open.

The second we step outside we get attacked, I managed to dodge the attack while holding dad. "On your left Saph!" Enya warns. The attacks keep coming, and I keep dodging. I leave dad on the side and go on the offense. This guy isn't a wolf, "Vamp" says Enya. "Damn it! I really didn't want to deal with them today" I respond. I punch him the face and it catches him off guard as he staggers back, I keep attacking and put him on the defense. Drawing my karambits I slash his forearms as he tries to block my attacks. In the distance I hear wolves fighting, I'm guessing that alpha Jason is handling the rogues. The second building explodes and some of the debri flies my way. The vamp tries to take advantage of this and tries to stab his claws into my chest. I dodge his attack but my mask gets ripped and half my face is now exposed. Drawing on more of Enya's power, I increase the speed of my attacks. I go after his throat but he manages to dodge it so I adjust my wrist and stab him in the chest. He slaps my hand off of the knife lodged into he chest and tries to retreat. I attack again, there's no way I can let him get away, I grab him and jump on his back. Then I take my pesh kashes and stab them into his clavicles and push them all the way down. He throws me off his back and dashes in dad's direction, I half shift and latch onto his leg just as he was about to stab dad. I use all my strength and swing him backwards. Not many wolves can half shift, you're in a lycan form so it requires immense focus and uses an extreme about of energy. As my adrenaline pulses through me, I rain down punch after punch, I am like a wild animal. The thought of losing dad pushed me over the edge. He claws me across my face so I rip his left arm off, and then I pull out my pesh kashes from his clavicles, his screams echo in my ears as I ram them into his chest. I pull them out and just as I'm about finish him off, I feel a searing pain in my side. The nex thing I know, I'm thrown off of him. Looking up I see Levik.

"Enya, you ok?" I ask as I hold my side. "Yes," she answers, "He's stronger than Levius was". "Sorry but I can't allow you to kill my subordinate," he says as he throws him over his shoulder. "Normally, I'd be inclined to take you on instead but, I have quite a bit to look into since I deffinitely wasn't expecting to run into Sapphire Black tonight. And here I thought it would be alpha Jason who would've gotten to your father first" he laughs out. Then looking past me, "Greetings alpha Jason, you're a bit too late. Alpha Black's daughter has already rescued him and I'm about to take my leave for the night," he says. I waste no time in attacking him again. He vends off all my hits but I manage to slash his face with my remaining karambit. He punches me in the ribs hard and it sends me flying back a few feet. “Tch! Don’t test my patience young Luna…” he pauses as he glances at my left hand. Looking at Anna’s ring he sneers and says, “to think you’d be so protected, count yourself lucky that I’m bound by law to stop here”. After that he takes off and disappears into the night. “Enya, what’s our damage?” I ask. “Three broken ribs, a fractured forearm, slight sprains on both wrists and ankles, a little blood in our lungs and minor internal bleeding. We should be good after a few days of rest” she answers.

Sapphire Black, it’s an honor to finally meet you I hear from a familiar voice. “Mate!” Enya starts yelling in my head. I turn to him hesitantly and when we lock eyes we can’t help but acknowledge each other. “Mate” we say at the say time. His shock and confusion is clear as he stares at me. I try to speak but all that comes out is a mouth full of blood, I fall to my knees and just when I’m about to fall flat on my face, I feel sparks erupting up my arms and back. “Crap Enya, this is a lot worse than you said” I chide her. “Whoa, I’ve got you” he says gently. As the darkness swallows me all I can say is, “sorry mate”.
