Chapter 57
Sapphire's POV
"I believe so strongly that beauty is a thing of the heart," I said to him, my eyes still fixed on his chest.
"Really, then I probably should...," he paused, buttoning his shirt up. He probably noticed that my eyes were on his chest. "You were saying?"
"Never mind," I replied, and we both burst into laughter.
" Look what you've done, Sapphire, he has closed your fantasy," Enya teased.
" Shut it, Enya."
Using his hands to create space on the dressing table, he sat down lightly, "Beauty is more professed by what we see. You can't define beauty from the inside you know," he said, lightly touching the tip of my nose. He moved closer to me, his hands finding their way to my shoulders. He gently stood up, his hands still on my shoulders, and got up to stand behind me. Together, we looked into the mirror staring at each other. My breath seized as I looked at him.
"So cute to see you both in this position, can't you feel the bond? "
" Enya, I don't think so, you know. After all the trials and hurt we experienced in the past, we are back together. I just hope it lasts."
" It'll last, my dear. It surely will," he said, planting kisses on my hair.
" How did you do that? "
" Do what, darling."
" How did you eavesdrop on my conversation with my inner wolf?"
" Should that surprise you? We've fully mated, remember? We have a unique connection."
" Then how come I don't get to hear from your wolf?"
" You've got to believe that you could actually hear from my wolf. It's innate, Sapphire."
" Get ready for a romantic blast," Enya teased just as Jason extended his hands more, gently tracing the curves of my neck.
"Jason," I moaned softly. The thoughts suddenly didn't matter anymore, everywhere became hot. Reconciling with Jason actually made our romantic connection stronger, let's not forget the fact that he marked me yesterday.
I stood up, turning back to face him. "Jason," I moaned again, tracing his chest through his shirt.
Then suddenly I stopped. It took the greatest effort from me but I did. "Jason, we've got a lot to do, you have to freshen up so we can start heading out. "
"Now you tell me, how did you do that? Such a strong being you are, " Enya teased again.
He stopped, moving halfway, "Right, Sapphire, we need to start moving." He disconnected from me instantly, retracing his steps backward, and moved towards the bathroom.
I heaved a sigh of relief. I badly wanted him, but I also didn't want to go far yet. My main focus now was to know more about myself, and he would help me discover all I needed to know.
"You really think this is a good idea?" Enya asked, quite concerned.
" I don't have much choice, do I?"
"You have to give yourself time to think this through, your safety comes first."
" Jason won't harm me, it's not in his eyes."
" You never can tell."
"Of course I can, I see it in his eyes, he wouldn't mess up this time. "
" I just hope so, he has put you through a lot."
I waited for him to freshen up in the bathroom, adding finishing touches to my makeup. I had made up my mind to go with him, to spend some time in his pack and clear my head of all that happened, hoping to possibly find a way to go back to my mother hoping to learn and understand everything about being an elemental.
Shortly after, he came out of the bathroom and headed to the wardrobe attached to the dressing table, adjacent to the mirror stand.
"You brought that along?" I asked him, noticing the suit he slipped out of the wardrobe.
" Hmm? This is the suit I wore for the party," he replied, looking quite surprised at my question. "Surely you remember, don't you?"
"Never mind," I said, looking away from him. Standing up slowly, I walked over to the window.
"The view from this window is not bad at all."
" You think? "
" Yeah, they seemed so close to us, it's beautiful,"
" Hmm, not until you see a vampire and a werewolf in a fight. "
"It wouldn't certainly be new."
" I'm ready."
I turned around casually to look at him, but I was caught in shock. The suit was admirable before he wore it but it wasn't as nice as this. Now I know for certain why I agreed to dance with him last night. Despite being a little drunk, I'm quite certain I would have noticed the beauty and elegance of the suit. He looked absolutely dashing.
"Never fails to take you unawares with his handsome nature. It's now the suit," Enya teased.
The fitted waistcoat accentuated his broad shoulders, and the tailoring trousers he wore to match it highlighted his toned legs.
"What?" he asked, looking surprised at my stare.
"Hmm? nothing, ahem, nothing at all, just.... carry on with your dressing up, we don't have time!!"
" Oh, ok."
I continued to stare in amazement at the wonderful tune and style of the suit he wore. The manner in which the fabrics hugged his physique was pure perfection.
I couldn't hold it in any longer. "Jason," I called out gently, walking close to him, my eyes still fixed on his impeccable suit. Its subtle stitches were a classic design. The gray shirt he wore complimented the suit perfectly, he left the first few buttons open which was so sexy.
"What is it? Look, if there is anything bothering you, spill it out." He turned away from me, facing the mirror and working on his tie, "or forever remain silent."
"Oh, indeed I am bothered by something. I'm really troubled." I said as I took a step forward. He turned his head sharply at me, his eyes filled with concern.
He closed the wardrobe and In less than a second, he held my hands drawing me closer to him in a rush.
