Chapter 61
Sapphire's POV
"And what would I assume you are looking for?" I heard someone ask from behind me. I turned back quickly, quite startled" A butler wearing a black velvet vest over a white dress shirt with a bow tie and white gloves standing behind me. His vest also had a golden image of a wolf howling.
"Oh, I'm Sapphire, I'm looking for Jason's study, it has been stressful finding him.
" Jason? You call the Alpha by his name? Good gracious!" He stepped backwards, staring at me strangely.
"You're surely not from this pack, are you?" the butler asked.
"Of course not. I'm a she-wolf from another pack, a daughter to the Alpha there." Alpha Luna if I might add but I didn't want to be rude to the young man or intimidate him, he’s just trying to do his job.
" I see, royalty runs in you then?"
" Of course sir, I just need to locate the study, Jason... Alpha Jason, is in there," I replied. A silver name tag on his shirt read "Finley".
"Then how come are you lost? Have you tried to call him on the phone? "
Phone, oh, why didn't I think of that earlier? Touching my sides, I looked up at him.
"Must have forgotten my phone back in the limousine." He gave me a doubtful look, not sure if he should help me in finding his study.
"You see, Finley, your alpha and I stepped into this pack house together, but he felt more urgent to get to the Beta faster so he walked really fast and left me... behind," damn it, I so hated the dumb explanation.
"Well, I'm sorry but I can't believe you, you must... "
" Hey, what's going on here? Finley, the beta has been waiting for you to return back with a cup of co ee, what have you been doing here?" I and the butler simultaneously looked back, looking toward the direction of the voice.
It was another guard, dressed in a dark blue top with gold covering and ornate buttons. His trousers were also dark blue with red stripes running through the sides. On his left, a silver pin bearing the Royal crest gleamed, which proved that he worked in the pack house. A name tag on his chest Garrison written on boldly.
"You must be Alpha Sapphire."
Finally, a helping hand. " Yes, yes I am, Sapphire Black."
"I see. Alpha Jason sent me to lead you to his study. I'm sorry for the inconveniences you must have faced, I was just on my way to get you"
"No problem, I figured it out."
" Very well then, shall we?" All the while the butler was just staring at us. Now knowing that I must be a close friend to the Alpha, he started speaking, trying his best to apologize to me.
"You know, my Lady, I'm very sorry, I never meant to be rude to you. I just wanted to get facts right before leading you to the study."
I turned to him even though he was a bit rude and he had good intentions, he was wise enough to protect his pack and Alpha. " Well it's okay, next reach out to your Alpha or guards to get information and don't be rude" I replied before following the guard in front of us both, leading the way to the study.
"I'm so sorry once again my lady, please don't tell Alpha" the butler continued.
He went on and on until I stopped, facing him, "Apologies accepted and I won't tell your Alpha" The guard stopped too, looking at both of us.
" Thank you, my Lady." the butler said as he bowed his head down.
We passed by several doorways, this pack house was really designed in a very confusing way. I would have truly gotten lost if the two workers hadn't intervened.
Finally, Garrison stopped just before a white wooden door with a beautiful brass handle.
"Finally," I said under my breath, relieved that we were in front of Jason's study.
Garrison knocked twice, then opened the door, revealing the Alpha's study.
The study was certainly breathtaking, a masterpiece of elegance. It was a very large room with rich, dark brown wood covering the walls. I looked around, but couldn't find Jason or his beta.
"This way, my lady." Garrison led the way, taking me to the other side of the study, a hardly visible corner. Looking around while moving with him, I noticed the door, the ceiling, and the bookshelves lined on one side. I looked at the wall.
opposite where I stood and I saw the stunning, stone replace.
Jason was seated behind his desk, his eyes glued on the paper on the desk. Another werewolf stood beside him, who I guess is his beta. They were both discussing something in hush tones.
My wolf purred, sighting Jason. He looked so attractive just sitting there, scribbling with his pen on a note before him.
"Ah, we have a guest," Ron, his beta, said cheerfully as he sighted me. Jason raised his head up slowly looking at me, he stood up and left his desk, walking forward.
"My Love, please forgive." He walked up to me, enveloping the whole of me with his hands.
"No, he must understand what you passed through trying to locate this room," Enya said, noticing that I was about to accept his apology .
I struggled to myself from his grip. "Forgive me for leaving you my love. I was in such a hurry to get to know the current affairs of the pack that I forgot how stressful it would be to locate this room," as he spoke, he stretched his hands and placed them on my face. Drawing me closer, he planted a kiss on my forehead and hugged me. I returned the hug, damn it, I just couldn't hold a little grudge against him.
Releasing his grip on me, he led me to a tush chair quite close to his desk. I looked around and noticed the beautiful drawing of wolves and other things on the wall. His study was truly breathtaking. This should be the nest pack house i've ever seen.
