Chapter 56

Jason's POV

"It was good being here and sharing the story with you all," the elder wolf greeted once more and took a slight bow. She headed to the door with all the used towels and left new ones.

"Now it's just both of us left here right?" I teased Sapphire, moving towards her direction, my hands in my pocket.

"Right," she replied, dropping the cup in her hand on the table and banging the table a little.

"Wrong, I'm here with you," Enya objected.

"You're also right," she replied to her wolf.

Turning to face me before she started talking, "I'll be leaving right now, I have places to be at."

"You're drunk, Sapphire, you can't lead yourself anywhere."

" You got me drunk, Jason. Just to keep me here."

I moved closer to her, my hands still inside my pocket, walking slowly and getting to her, "No, you got yourself drunk so you could stay longer," I paused, getting closer to her, " You also got me drunk."

Slowly, her hands, as if hypnotized to do whatever they did, got up and touched my chest region. Then as if getting hold of herself, she removed her hands immediately, looking downwards.

"I must head home now," she said, trying to head out of the room into the bathroom.

"Would you love to go to my place with me? it'll be fun, Ron would love to see you." I asked as she was already twisting the doorknob of the bathroom.

" That won't be a good idea, believe me."

" And how sure are you when you've not even tried it? It'll be good for us all." I moved to take a seat at the beer table. She already entered the bathroom.

"Well, we both need a compatible place to think things through."

" I didn't hear you!" she screamed a reply from inside, as she had already turned on the hair dryer and it made a lot of noise, swallowing up my voice on its own.

"We need a compatible place to patch things up, and Ron would love to see you!!"

" Oh, it would be really lovely to see him, but I still think that's not a brilliant idea."

" And who needs a brilliant idea?"

" My safety does." Her response was punctuated by the sound of the hair dryer. "I don't know if I can trust..."

"Trust me?"

"No, Jason, don't say it that way, please don't. I just need time to clear my head, myself, all alone."

I nodded, "There are lots of rooms in my chamber you know, it's best we go there, you'll have a lot of time to think and put things through."

" You just have valid points to counter me, don't you?"

I smiled, " That's because asking for the right thing, you know, just reconsider and come with me to my chamber. We need to spend more time together to sort things out. It's for the best, considering the back and forth we've all been through, and your recent discovery of the elemental powers."

"And who would tell my parents that I'm with you?" She said another excuse to not spend time with me.

I cracked up, " Put your best friend on a call and ask him to inform your parents that you're spending the time with me, it'll cost nothing you know."

She stepped out of the bathroom at that point. I couldn't help but notice her radiant skin glowing lovely in the hotel room light. She had a towel wrapped around her head in a turban style, and another draped effortlessly around her curves. It was indeed a beauty to behold.

"Ok, I'll try to call him, but then you should promise me one thing, Jason."

" I'll have to promise?"

" Yes, you have to. I've gone through numerous hurtful moments with you, and I won't have myself go through it again." She moved towards the dressing table. Her caramel hued skin was still glowing without the light, her body got a little bit wet from the water she poured on her hair.

I could hardly remove my eyes from her shoulder, the gentle curve on her neck, and the soft definition of her collar bone. I felt like giving her a soft massage.

I held her hand as she walked past me on her way to the mirror, looking intently into her eyes, "look, Sapphire, the point is that I love you and I'm willing to make it up, anyhow you wish, based on your own standards of measurements and coin."

She scoffed. " Based on my own coin, how funny." She moved towards the dressing table. Her body... breathtaking. The towel hugged in the right places, accentuating her toned physique. Her legs, long and lean, I could go on forever, describing how perfect she is.

"Promise me, Jason, that I won't get my heart crushed to pieces when I come to your place." She stopped as she sat down on the dressing table. I stood up as I couldn't simply resist the urge to go close to her, her body was simply breathtaking. Reaching the dressing table myself, my eyes fell on the array of beauty products there. It made me wonder if we were actually still in a hotel room. She brought some herself to a party!!!.

To the left, her makeup station was neatly organized, a row of products I know nothing about, but they were not makeup products.

"I promise it all, Sapphire, just come with me, it would be blissful."

" I'll take your word for it, but if by any chance you break my heart again, that would be it for this relationship, and I'll have to work real hard to reject you."

I scoffed lightly, knowing the general absurdity in her last statement, " Of course darling, you won't get your heart messed up again, believe me." She was sitting on the dressing still and I was standing beside her, through the mirror looking at her as her eyes moved and rested on my chest region and my abs, making me smirk. She was seemingly attracted to it, just like I was attracted to her figure.

"Sapphire," I called gently. "Have you taken any chance to notice how beautiful you are?"

She paused, tracing my gaze through the large ornate mirror. "I strongly believe that beauty is a matter of the heart."
