Human wolves

I didn't sleep too well last night because of Nik and his lover, they were too loud!
After a quick shower, I go downstairs for breakfast. I groan as I eat because I'm not in a good mood.
“ Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” Says Justin, walking toward me with a gentle smile. Nikolas is a little behind him, frowning as he looks at some documents.
“ How are you, Ava?"
“ I didn’t sleep properly,” I reply
“ You don’t like the room?” he asks, looking at Nik whose attention Is now on us, I shake my head.
“ Noise, the moaning, my gosh,” I groan, holding my forehead in exhaustion. Justin laughs and looks at an angry Nikolas.
“ Let’s go,” he orders, Justin frowns looking at the food Aaron is making, he keeps pointing but his grumpy boss ignores him. Justin frowns and follows Nik.
I laugh at his childish behavior.

I spend the whole day lazing around in my pajamas, thinking about the woman with Nikolas, they seemed pretty close, he was even smiling, are they in a serious relationship?
I need to keep myself busy so that I don't think about him all the damn time, maybe I should look for a job but where and what kind of work? Mario was right, I know nothing.
Wanting some fresh air in the garden, I go there, enjoying the scenery and the sweet smile of the flowers.
I look in the nearby woods just a few miles from the house, and a silhouette of something huge is watching me, is it an animal? I blink severally but it's gone, I must have imagined it.
“ You like flowers?” I breathe, slowly turning around, Nikolas. He looks like he’s from the shower. I nod with a tiny smile, my gaze back to the lilies. I glance at him but he is looking at the woods, sniffing around before coming to me quickly.
“ Who was with you?” he asks, panicked. I look at his hand on my arm and then into his gorgeous eyes.
“ No one,” He growls as his eyes darken into a dangerous color and a shiver runs down my body.
“ What is-is wrong?” I stutter.
“ Aviana, are you sure you're okay?” he asks, agitated. I slowly nod my head.
“ Go back inside, now,” Nik orders before running into the woods, what happened? Why would he go into the woods like that, soon Jeremy follows after him with a loud growl too. This time, I almost fall to my knees in shock.
A man appears in front of me, he’s tall and muscular with thick dark curls and brown eyes.
“ Hi, miss Ava, I’m Ben,” he stretches out his hand to me and I take it slowly and he guides me back inside.
“ Where are they going,” I ask, looking back, Ben hesitates to answer.
“ Night run?” he shrugs his shoulders, unsure of his answer, who goes for a night run this time? The maids come to me, looking relieved to see.
I stare at the clock as minutes turn to hours and Nikolas is not back yet. Suddenly, the door opens and I let out a breath of relief when the two brothers walk in, laughing. when I see them walk through the door, laughing
“ Where did you run off to?” I ask, putting a hand on my hip.
Jeremy looks at his brother then at Ben next to me.
“ hmm, running?” he replies, making it like a question, “ after an animal?”
“ Shouldn’t you have called animal control?” I ask, curious. If there was an animal I think it’s best to let the proper authorities handle it and how can an animal even make it in a gated community?
“ Enough, go to bed,” as soon as those words leave Nikolas' mouth, I yawn and Jeremy laughs “ Jer and Ben, my office now!” he orders as I exit the salon.
The next morning, I didn't see Nikolas or Jeremy, so I spent the day watching Netflix and eating all kinds of food.
In the evening, I change into a legging and a big shirt with sneakers and decide to take a walk around the streets. it’s a nice neighborhood with similar huge houses and well-kept gardens.
A car honks and I turn. I wave at Ben cheerily and so does he. Did Nikolas tell him to come after me? Does he think I might run away with his baby?
Ben and I talk converse, he tells me things about the city and the families, it's complicated to understand,
“ and Aurora? Why doesn’t she stay here?” he is surprised at my question, I’ve never seen her since that day, Where does she live?
“ Princess Aurora lives with the king, her mate,” he answers, driving very slowly
“ Mate?” I question, he smiles holding his neck uncomfortably.
“ Boyfriend, I meant,” Ben continues to tell me more about the dynamics, Aurora’s boyfriend practically runs the city, like a president or governor.
“ Yes, so it’s like this power couple, you know,” he finishes. Aurora is a rich heiress who does so many good things for the people. She is very much loved.
“ So where to?” he asks still in the tiny car, driving at my pace.
“ Just walking, I read it’s good for the baby,” he nods, so he does know I’m with Nik’s child. I wonder what he thinks about this we don’t talk after that, just walking
“ It’s getting late miss, we should go back,” He says, and I pout.
" Can we stay out a while longer?"

" No, It's the full moon today," I look at the moon, it's shining brightly in the sky and I smile, feeling a surge of energy through me.
“ I like the moon,” I tell him. Ben comes out of the car and tries to convince me to enter so that we can go back but I'm acting stubborn even though he's getting frustrated.
We suddenly hear twigs from the bushes.
“ Oh, shit, these kids,” Ben mutters, leading me to the passenger seat. Just as I’m about to move, wolves come, slowly, they are big and different colors of three, I back away screaming then quickly hold my mouth. I whimper still backing away but the three wolves are looking at me curiously as if trying to understand my actions. I tap my feet on the ground, panicking. What are we going to do?
I am going to die without seeing my mother, the thought makes my heart ache, and tears burn my eyes.
“ Relax, they won’t hurt you,” Says Ben calmly, why would he be this calm in such a situation?
I shake my head, trying to breathe but failing. All the walls are closing in on me, am I having a panic attack right now? Seriously when we are being attacked by wild animals? Wait, is this a panic attack, I’ve never had one before. Focus Ava, you’re about to be dinner!
“ It’s okay we won’t hurt you, I promise,” I yelp when I see a naked boy standing close to the wolves. The wolves growl at him while Ben shakes his head in disappointment.
“ Reuben! Did you hear what I told you?” asks Ben, shocked but the boy beams and ruffles his blonde hair that shines in the moonlight.
“She was scared, and I wanted to comfort her,” The boy answers a stupefied Ben.
“ Are you his mate, beautiful lady?” The asks excited, mate? The wolves snarl and I laugh loudly. It’s a dream, of course, it is a dream, I am dreaming, there are nothings like werewolves in real life, I pinch myself trying to wake up but nothing so I pinch it harder
“Aouch,”
“ You live in a town of werewolves and you don’t know,” The boy laughs making Ben angrier now
“Weren't we supposed to tell her?”
" No, you IDIOT!" Ben roars and Reuben does something out of this world, he shifts into a wolf!
" Oh my god!" I scream. The wolf walks toward me carefully and gives me his puppy eyes, I might even pet him if my body wasn't quivering in fear.
" Excuse us, Ava," Says Ben going a few feet from me and the wolves follow him.
They don't speak but I can tell that they are communicating somehow, I feel light-headed and drowsy, I want to faint but I have to be strong, I need to escape before something bad happens to me or the child.
My legs buckle but before I fall, strong hands hold me and I look up when I feel tingles on my skin.
" Fuck," Mutters Nikolas, looking into my eyes.
" Wolves, run," Is the only sound I manage to produce.
" I know, sit," He says in a monotone, glaring at the little group.
Nikolas walks over to the group, looking as intimidating as ever in all his might. They lower themselves before him and are whimpering, even Ben's neck is hanging low.
" Air, please," I cry, trying to fan myself with my hand. Nikolas momentarily glances my way and his eyes shine a different color. Then it clicks, he is experimenting on them? I heard him tell Jeremy that five shifted last night.
I gasp, I need to leave, is this his plan for me and the baby?
“ How wicked are you, Nikolas Wulfric?!” I shout, and he furrows his eyebrows.
Tears stream down my face as I call him out on all his disgusting projects.
" Ans Ben, how can you be an accomplice to this evil! You seemed sweet and kind," My breath shudders, they are looking at me as though I've lost my senses.
“ I am reporting you to the police,” I tell them and run to the driver's seat, luckily no one stops me, the car is small and I hope it’s fast too.
I drive away from there, I am not the best driver but I don’t care, I step on the gas.
I glance up in the mirror and fortunately, no one follows me. I relax a little now but I need a plan, where do I go? The police? Nik is very rich and powerful around the city. A huge wolf is standing in front of the road, it's large and towering over the car. I hit the brakes, causing the car to make a screeching sound... I cough getting out of the car as I was inhaling smoke.
The silver beast looks at me with many emotions on its face. Did Nik send it to kill me? It’s looking at me with its green eyes, like Nik’s.
