Worrying

Nikolas still avoids me and I don’t know what to do. I wait here, I need to talk to him tonight but there’s no one around. We haven’t spoken in about a week now, I sigh looking at the time, it’s 10 pm and no one is back.
The maids told me that something is happening in the city and the Wulfrics left last night, that's why Jeremy was panicking.
The door bursts open and I run to him, Nikolas is drenched in blood, and his eyes are between red and dark. unable to hold myself, I wrap my arms around him but he pulls away.
“ What’s wrong,” I ask, cupping his face.
“ I failed, the royal coven was attacked. Aurora almost died and Jeremy is badly injured,” he mutters running a hand in his hair, my heart sinks, Jeremy, will he be fine? I want to ask, Nikolas keeps growling and heads to the room at full speed, I get my phone to call Kat.
“ Hello,” it’s a man who answers.
“ I am sorry, can I talk to Kat?” why would a man answer her phone? Is he her mate? Alexander Alarie! the alpha of the black Crest, It's another pack for the black moon, it was too big so the Alarie brothers divided it.
“ She can’t come to the phone right now,” his voice is deep but gentle.
" Okay, Please tell her that I called,"
" Will do," I sigh, ending the call before going to see Nik.
I slowly open the door to his room, he is growling and throwing things around, there is broken furniture everywhere. He looks at me with scary dark eyes, showing me his elongated teeth. Katalya told me it means his wolf is in control and most danger, they work on animal instincts. I know I have to leave this room now, but I can’t, my legs are taking me to this beast, he is breathing heavily and growling at me as if telling me to leave.
I’ve never seen him in such a state before, they are deep claw marks on the walls and furniture, and the dark curtains are torn.
“ it will be okay,” I whisper, my eyes brimming with tears. I let my tears fall freely but he shakes his head, wiping my tears as I do the same on his right cheek.
He looks at me deeply and I can see his dark irises shining, I pull him close, hugging him. I keep him in my embrace for a very long time.
“ it will be okay,” he whispers too, trying to convince himself. I take his hand and we lie in his broken bed, he holds me tightly and soon I feel his breath even, he must have fallen asleep.
But it doesn’t happen to me, I keep thinking, what must have happened? Jeremy is the light in their lives and I don’t want to imagine life without him around here.
He’s spontaneous and carefree, his face is replaying In my head over and over again.
Please keep him safe, I whisper a silent prayer
Months later.
Nikolas has been stressed lately because they have been trying to find the people who are stalking me, Ben noticed someone when we went to the mall, and they think they are still in the city, maybe it’s Mario but why can’t they just get me, Nikolas thinks it’s one of his enemies.
One of them is the former Alpha of this pack. Before Nik became Alpha, his father's beta was but refused to give him the title when he became of age, the former Alpha became greedy for power and started failing in his duties, so Nikolas had to fight him for the position and he won, the man became vindictive and started doing everything in his power to bring him down, working with pack enemies like rogues.
The Wulfrics banished him but he still tries to harm them in whichever way he can
After the attack at the coven, Jeremy is still badly injured and is still in the hospital, the siblings have been gloomy, Nikolas visits the coven hospital where his little brother is often, I too go with him, the only thing keeping him alive is the witch’s magic and there is a possibility he might lose his Wolf, Aurora’s eyes are blank and dark like right now, she’s eating but it’s obvious her mind is somewhere else.
Today we are having dinner at a restaurant in the city, It's a resort that the king named after Aurora
It’s been a dark time around and you can feel the darkness, her baby bump is now showing. Unlike normal wolves royals only carry their babies for only six months, we might deliver in the same month, May.
“ Are you doing ok?” she shrugs at her brother’s questions, playing with the food on her plate. Her eyes were darker the last time she came home and wasn’t acting like herself, I remember Nikolas telling me to go into my room, but it’s good that finally, things are getting back to normal but I am really worried about them, I hope things work out.
“ The treaty is next month, finally something good,”
The King and Princess have been working on a peace treaty so that Vampires and werewolves can work together and coexist peacefully in the city. I put my hand on top of Nik’s watching them eat while I continue drawing this plan, I was planning to open a cafe since I’m not doing anything and it has always been a simple dream of time.
It will have pastries and different types of ice cream. I have this whole plan in my head but I also need money or find an investor. And I don’t want Nik to do that, I don’t ever want him to pay me for anything.
“ What’s that, love?” Nik takes the paper but I take it back quickly. The siblings are now looking at us with interest, as he takes the paper away from me once again and me trying to reach it, but he stands up knowing I can’t reach it because he’s taller than I am, fuck being 5'6ft tall is no fun at all.
I try to jump so I can reach it but I can’t get it from him and they laugh at my failed efforts, it's the first time I have heard them laugh since the attack.
“ Give it back,” I whine like a kid, but he chuckles and then does.
“ Sweetheart, if you don’t want to take money from me then let me invest,” he says again, we've been at this, I roll my eyes going to take my seat back as the waiters take away the food.
“ I want to do this, for you,” he says holding my hand.
“ Let him, come on, you deserve to make your dreams come true,” Says Aurora. I smile, how did she know owning a café was my dream? Oh yes, she can get in my head and read my thoughts like an open book.
I playfully glare at her, and she gives me a half-smile, the first she has given me in a long time, she only smiles at her mate, maybe just to appease him. Kat nods too.
“ No please, I don’t want this,” I say, I want to find a job and make my own money, even though Nikolas gave me a card with a lot of money for purchases.
" We are rich, why would you even want to work?" Asks Kat.
