I look at the sleeping child in my arms, Amber is growing up graceful like Loren. A bitter smile spreads on my lips and tears well my eyes. I'm going to betray my alpha.
The door bursts open and Prince Julian appears, grinning mischievously at his cousin. I give him a warning look not to come closer but the little brat ignores me!
" Prince Julian?" I warn but he won't look at me, his hand curled up in a ball, his big blue eyes wide with mischief, what is he doing now? For a two-year-old, the dragon prince is very energetic and likes running around, he exhausts poor Amber.
" Don't dare Lian," I say again until he untightens his hand and traces a feather on his cousin's face.
" Lian, no," she groans still half asleep.
" Look, I got it from your bird," he grins when Amber finally sits up with a frown that slowly turns to fury, glaring at the young dragon prince.
" Little monster!" Julian's eyes widen when he hears his mother's voice
" I swear If your son has woken my daughter..." I hear my alpha grumble from downstairs, when he hears footsteps, the little prince runs away very fast, banging the door behind him.
" Hey, baby," I wave at my future alpha who still has a scowl on her face, she lies back on the bed and closes her eyes.
My heart aches and I feel a knot tightening in my stomach at the deed am about to do. I get a white cloth that he gave me and put it on her nose just to be sure that she won't work up anytime soon.
My phone buzz and I know it's time, I sigh picking up the baby from her bed. They are having dinner so they won't notice but I have to be fast, miss Aviana is very sensitive when it comes to her and doesn't easily trust anyone around the child but me.
Aviana has so much love to give and the house feels great with her around, Alpha is happy, I see him smile on several occasions than used to. He no longer carries around a dark aura. Now it's different, thanks to madam Ava, she brought color not only in his life but this house too, and the pack, everyone is happier now.
I look at the angel in my arms, the house is heavily guarded but I took weeks studying the guard's shifts so I can get out with no problem. I kiss Amber's forehead, it's almost like she's smiling in her sleep, so unlike her, this girl seldom smiles.
I carefully hold Amber and open the window, there is a tree just next to the room so I jump, I breathe and luckily she does not stir.
I slowly get down, holding both the young one and a bag. My eyes wander to the room where echos of laughter are coming from, Ava is there too, fitting in with the most powerful supernatural in the city, it's like they forget she's not like us, I smile, I do like her, and am sorry, but I won't risk my brother's life, and besides they wouldn't hurt her right?

" We are going there now princess, alright?" I smile, keeping my eyes on the road. Amber smiles and closes her eyes again, how cute is she? She is the most beautiful girl in the world.

" The child," Answers one of the men with him, I cross my arms against my chest, shaking my head.
He chuckles softly, drawing out his gun from his pocket and pointing it at me.
" Whoo, whoo, everyone should calm down," my so-called mate comes in between. I look back at the baby behind me, she is sleeping, her hand on her jaw.
Derick turns to me, holding my shoulders but I growl, moving away from him
" My brother, Derick,"
" He's safe, but for now they are coming, let's get the child and leave," I swallow thickly at the mention of Amber.
" No, I can't,"
" What do you mean you can't, the lord is going to kill your brother! Do you want that?" Whispers my mate.
I love my brother, and for the longest time, it has only been us against the world, I can't let him die but again, I don't want to betray my alpha. " I'll call Aviana, tell her to come here but the girl remains on the other side," I say through grit teeth, as soon those words leave my mouth, he hits me, making me stagger and spit out blood. For a second my vision darkens at the impact of the slap.
" Sir!" Derick interferes, and the brut puts a gun to my head. I look at the huge man in front of me, his eyes are cold. He looks cruel.
" Who are you to tell me what to do, little girl?" He asks, I glare at him.
" Derick, you need to teach your bitch some respect, and tell her who's the boss around here,"
" Sorry sir, she's just anxious about her brother,"
Derick looks at me, silently asking me to agree, I spit the blood and nod.
" Now, you will go in and bring the little girl,"
" I can't, an invisible barrier has been put up," I say quietly, he nods, looking at the phone vibrating in my hands. Aviana has been calling and leaving me messages, she's desperate.
