When I reach home, I feel happy to be back, but I keep thinking about what that woman said that Nik will toss me aside and keep the baby, I know that’s the deal but I can’t give this child up.
I stand on the balcony, watching the young wolves play, I recognize Reuben's tawny wolf, I wonder why they are here today, but it’s good to hear some laughter around the area. I can’t help but smile holding my bump, will it be like them, I feel a presence and turn to look at Nik, he looks like he’s from work, still in a black work suit, smiling softly at me and I can’t help but smile too.
“ You scared me today,” he speaks softly.
“ I’m sorry, but I was scared as well,” I answer truthfully
“ Why were you, scared love?” I smile, gosh my heart flutter when he says that, I like it when says that.
“Is it true, what she said? That once the baby is born you will toss me aside?" I ask with a broken heart, touching my stomach once more, his child is in here
He comes to get on one knee with a smile
"Don't worry about that love," but I worry, and the baby? Won't I see the child I carried? Wait what I'm I saying I'm just a surrogate, a paid one with a drug cartel after me.
I wonder what he'll name it. His baby is in my womb but if this baby isn't mine why do I love it now, I can't help but stop when I touch my little stomach over again.

that's not mine, I'm just carrying it, Nikolas looks so hot in a suit, I swallow thickly going close, with a little boldness, I reach to do what I’ve been wanting to for months now, getting on my toes then kiss him, my lips move against his but he doesn’t reciprocate, too shocked perhaps.
He pulls away gently still keeping his head on my forehead.
“ Don’t please, not you,” he whispers, turning to leave but I hold his arm.
“ Why?” I ask looking at him, where have I even found this courage? I am developing strong feelings for him and he doesn't seem to notice, does he know how much it hurts when I see him with those women?
It hurts!
“ Nikolas, I want to be close to you,” I say holding his neck but he keeps shaking his head, he holds my hands together, kissing my cheek then leaves without another word, I stay there dumbfounded, I feel like a huge burden had been lifted off my chest for some reason. I do want to be close to Nikolas and I’ll wait however long it takes.
I smile getting ready for bed.
Early in the morning, I get ready, I need to go shopping for the baby, I wear a black dress with some slippers, letting my hair fall to my back, one last look in the mirror and I head out, when I reach the kitchen, I don’t see Nikolas.
“ He’s already gone miss,” I nod eating my breakfast, I notice Dora smile as she gives me my apple juice.
“ What?” I ask softly,
“ You look beautiful miss, glowing,” I touch my chest smiling at the young woman, I do feel good. I pick a random key because there are so many here! but when I reach Ben is already waiting for me. He takes me to the mall going through all the baby stores
I pick for both gender since we don’t know yet but I will at my next appointment with the doctor. Benjamin is quiet just helping me carry the bags when need be, I didn’t buy a lot though, Nikolas told me we’ll come together but he Left, could it be he’s avoiding me?
I can’t shake the feeling that someone is watching me but when I look I don’t see anyone, and I notice how two other guards are there, following me closely and on high alert too, Ben has disappeared saying he went to the bathroom.
I sigh missing Nikolas, I want to be close to him, I hold the handkerchief I got last time at the airport and look at it once more with a smile before continuing with my shopping.
When I reach home Nikolas is not back yet, I groan going directly to my room and unpacking the baby’s clothes.
“ They are so pretty!” she says in a high-pitched tone, I turn to look at the door, Kat is smiling, the doctor looks amazing as usual and we go through the baby clothes together, " Do you want a girl or boy?” I smile looking at her, she looks really happy today.
“ I don’t care about the sex, I just want to see it already, safe and healthy,” she nods satisfied with the answer. The truth is that I am really happy to have this.
Her phone rings and she picks it up,
“ Alexander,” she answers trying to hide a smile and walk away to the other part of the room near the balcony.
“ Yes, yea.. yea... I miss you too,” she says shyly over the phone like she doesn’t want to, I watch her fidget playing with her hair like a teenager
"Soon Xander, yes. it was ok, fine, I liked it," she continues to talk, I continue looking at the beautiful clothes I got, and after a few minutes, Katalya comes back.
“ I’m sorry, I was talking to my... “ she hesitates a little, am not the only one who wants to be with someone tonight.
“ Mate?” I finish for her, she looks around then nods slowly
“ Nikolas doesn’t know,” he hates them because their father killed his, Ben already told me the story.
“ But right now, the clans are at peace right?” she nods8
“ Only because of Aurora,"
it’s surreal how werewolves live, the packs, the peace treaty, territory it was like a whole full class. And Xavier and Aurora are like a bridge to all the wolf packs and vampires.
