The Siblings

Brother
Brother, it keeps running in my head, they are siblings.
“ Well, hello wifey,” he says waving. Nik looks at me with a serious face and then turns to his younger brother.
“ No you idiot, she lied to get in here, she’s running from those men,” he points outside at the men in dark uniforms before his green eyes dart back at me.

“ So, who did you kill sister-in-law, as in we are not judging, my family are far from being saints but you look too human to even-“
“Jeremy, let’s go, I’m late,” the older brother speaks in a bored tone. I smile, so the young one's name is Jeremy? It suits his jovial character. Nik begins to walk to the plane while Jeremy is rooted in his steps. Why is he not leaving? Is he worried about me?
" Aren't you leaving?" I ask. He looks back at Mario's men and sighs
" They want you back, are you some sort of Princess running from your Prince charming?"
" Oh running from the devil," I mutter under my breath.
Nik stops walking when he realizes that his young brother is not following behind.
“ Are you coming? Or should I leave you here,” he growls, not turning back.
“How about her?” he asks. Nik sighs and finally turns around
" What about her?"
" Come on, it's clear she's running away, let's help her out,"

“She’s not my problem or yours,” he says cold, and shrugs.
“ Please, help me,” I whisper finally, desperation tugging my voice as I see Mario's men lurking around this area.
“ You broke my laptop,” He sneers, almost childishly and I repress a laugh.
“ I'll replace it,”
“ and my work?” he raises his thick eyebrows, fuck this man is hot.
“ Nikolas, Let's just take her with us, she's pretty and if you don't like her, we won't keep her,” he winks.
" I don't want to be kept, Jeremy," The boy grins, happy that I called his name.
“ Who is after you?” Nik asks but I stay silent “ Why are they after you?”
“ None of your business but if you don't help me, my death will be on your conscious,"
" I don't have a conscious, lady," He retorts.
" Just help me and you won't see me again,"
" Fine," He grumbles and goes to the huge plane. I smile and Jeremy and I follow suit.
I gasp at the impressive size of the plane, everything is huge and customized with the initials I saw on the handkerchief, the plane smells so fresh and amazing that I wonder If I should even sit with how dirty I am.
" Sit please, there is a bed in the back if you want to rest," Jeremy tells me.
" Thanks," I say and take off my hoodie, leaving me in my tank top and letting my hair down. Nik chokes on his wine and some spilled on his shirt. An attendant in a short dress comes to check on him but he dismisses her.
" She's beautiful, isn't she brother?"
Jeremy smirks, I blush at his compliment but Nik just looks away from him.
We all settle and one of the attendants asks if I want to have anything, I don't know if I should but Jeremy insists I eat so I order a light meal.
As I eat my food, Nik is busy working on his laptop while Jeremy is listening to music and conversating with me.
I caught Nikolas looking at the branding and his eyes darken and fist clenched, I hurriedly pull down my tank top and just glance away in shame, I know it is disgusting.
In about three hours we land and get out of the plane. Three black SUVs are waiting for the brothers like they are royalty.
" Hey," Sighs Jeremy. I twist my neck to him and ask
" Where is this place?"
" Crescent City," My eyes almost bulge, what are the odds? I just got on the plane not knowing my destination and now, I'm in a city I was meant to come to. The gods are not too cruel then.
I look at Jeremy " Thank you,"
Nikolas doesn't spare me a glance and walks passed me to talk to a good-looking man, are all of them greek gods type?
As if feeling my gaze on his, he glances over here and this time, I hold his gaze and tears feel my eyes for an unknown reason. His eyes are soft and his lips are slightly parted, he's the one to break the gaze when the man he's talking to nudges him softly.

" Do you know anyone here, if not I can talk to my brother and you can live with us for a while,” Offers Jeremy. I consider the offer but I reject it. They have already done so much and I don't want to intrude on their space.
" I have a friend here,"
His smile deflates and nods.
“Let's go, Jeremy,” Nikolas hollers, getting in the car.
“ I hope to see you again beautiful,” Jeremy winks and jogs to the cars.
I go in the opposite direction and once I'm outside. I could only admire the huge skyscrapers in awe. Everything is modern and first-class, a great display of wealth. Huge bridges and tarmacs up and down. What is this city? Everyone is walking and busy with their own lives.
Wow, this is heaven, it is the most stunning city in the world. I call for a taxi to take me to the nearest motel.
“ Beautiful. right?” the driver comments with a smile.
" Yes,"
He drops me off at a decent motel.
“ Be careful,” the driver says. What’s there to be careful of in this city of lights, there are cameras everywhere I turn. I nod at the kind driver and head to the reception. After registering, I go to my room and take a long shower.
I could the money I have and realize it was enough to rent an apartment.
The next morning, I woke up and went to the reception where they gave me a map of the city.
I called an uber and went to the mall, I got a few clothes and some necessities only as I was on a strict budget.
" Welcome back, Ma'am. I hope you enjoyed our wonderful city," The man at the reception says. I smile and nod. I freeze in my tracks when I hear a howl in a distance but no one reacts to it.
" I hope they catch the animal," I whisper.
The old man chuckles " Animals around here are different, they are not harmful,"
I squint my eyes, confused but he only smiles and drops my bags in the corner, and leave the room.
