Jealous?

NIKOLAS POV
I go back behind my desk, playing with the pen in my hands. I look at the time once more, it's only been thirty minutes since she left, I groan and I hear Alec snarl in my head.
" This is your fault," I furrow my eyebrows
" Me? How?" It's not my fault that his mate has gone on a date with that man! But why would she even? I see how he looks at her, he wants her, and now he dares to ask her on a date. Fuck!
" You are driving her into the hands of another, she's our mate!" He growls.
" Yours, not mine, I didn't choose her," I retort, but why does this bother me so much? That she is with him right now and not me.
My phone rings and I check it, it's piper, I don't want to be with her tonight. And all Alec does is complain nowadays. She is special but the truth is that piper doesn't satisfy me anymore, my mind keeps wandering to Ava, what is this feeling am experiencing? It's, not sadness or anger.
" Ava!" My wolf purr, did he just purr? oh man, am dead, he's got it bad, now it has gotten to this?
I turn off my phone to avoid my lovers, thank goddess Sarafina isn't one of them since she was banished by Aurora.
The door burst open and Justin comes in, holding my daughter in his hands. Amber is rubbing her eyes softly. Aviana and I put her to bed before she left for her 'date' note the sarcasm.
" Baby, what's wrong?" I get up, her arms are already stretched out to me, and I carry her.
" Monsters, I want mummy," She says softly, I smile, she wants her mother, not that I forgot the monsters no.
" We already chased them away remember?" I ask, it's a routine now, before bed, I check under the bed for monsters while Ava checks the closet.
" They came back, I want to sleep with you and mummy," she slowly starts to cry. I continue whispering to her until she calms down. I hum the song Aviana sings for her about falling In love, relating to it, I fell in love with the angel in my arms, there was no warning, no signs, the moment I held her in my arms, I knew that moment that she is my life and I will always protect her. I can't help this feeling of fatherhood, it's indescribable, amazing, and out of this world. I never thought I would love someone this much, she's dangerously precious to me.
My wolf feels the same way as I do for his pup. When am with my family it's when am truly happy.
" Don, came by," says my beta, pouring himself a glass of vodka,
He hands it to me but I shake my head and get up to put my baby girl on the sofa to rest there.
I kiss her forehead before going back to my desk.
" Mario is the governor of Mexico," I sigh, Justin takes a seat in front of me, crossing his legs.
" I know, he is now one of the most powerful men there,"
I still want my retribution for all he did to Aviana, I refuse to let it go. I've destroyed most of his buildings, canceled his businesses all over the world, and put a stain on his reputation, but he still managed to win the election.
Slowly but surely I will take him back to his beginnings, a street rat he is, back to the dirt, he should have never left.
" So, Ava is on a date huh," Justin smirks, I wish I can punch it off his dumb face. I look at the papers on my desk, ignoring his stare but he continues.
" What do you think is happening?
" It's a fucking dinner date, what happens other than eating, Justin," I growl but he doesn't flinch. Fuck.
" I know, I know but after the date," he continues, enjoying my despair now, my wolf growls menacingly, the thought of any man intimately touching the little human,
" Amos, is getting some today," he grumbles and my eyes snap to him.
" Ava+1 is no whore," I defend, she would never sleep with him on their first date or let him touch her in an immoral manner, she is a dignified woman, a woman of substance.
" Oh I know, but Amos is the perfect gentleman, and once in a while she needs it," he winks and I almost lunge at him but he manages to move away, going closer to the door as I approach.
I growl loudly and immediately regretted it as my daughter starts to stir, her sobs slowly starting again.
" See what you caused," I growl, going back to my daughter. This time she looks wide awake, a scowl on her cute face.
" Sorry baby, dada Is missing mama," coos Justin coming. I glare at him but he only smirks. I continue moving around the room, trying to get her back to sleep but she doesn't.
Her head is resting on my shoulders, I continue to hum to her but she's not going back to sleep.
" Baby, it's late," I groan
" I don't want to sleep, Dada," she speaks loudly and clearly.
" Pass me my phone," I ask Justin who smirks.
" Well, if my baby wants her mummy, who am I to deny her," a smile makes its way on my face as I dial Ava's line but she doesn't answer. I try once again and she answers.
" Took you long enough," I hear her sigh, I can imagine her rolling her eyes.
" How may I be of assistance your majesty?" she answers, sarcasm dripping from her words. I roll my eyes, she has become assertive.
" Our daughter is awake," I inform her.
" Put her back to bed," what does she think am doing?
" I already tried genius, she wants you,"
" Omg, you're doing this on purpose aren't you? You just want to ruin my date," she accuses, I don't want her on a date with that smarty pants
I take a sharp breath before speaking,
" No,"
" You always manage to put her to bed, why can't you today of all days?" She questions suspiciously, I look at Justin for help but he ignores me, I kick his foot and he screams and points to the little girl in my arms.
I take my phone away from my ear, covering the speaker against my shoulder
" What should I say?" I whisper but he laughs, I kick him again, he is enjoying this too much.
" I don't know," he shrugs still repressing his laughter.
" You are not getting a raise," his laugh dies immediately.
" You were about to give me one?" He looks interested now.
" Was is the keyword, fucker, " I growl. I can hear Ava saying hello, hello, but this idiot best friend of mine is enjoying this, he likes to torment me.
" Tell her that your daughter isn't feeling well, she will drop everything to rush over here," he says with a proud smile,
" Come up with something else,"
" It's all I got, trust me," he whispers.
" Dumb ass," I grumble and he gives me his middle finger.
" You know what bye, Nikolas," Aviana sounds very upset now.
" No, wait! I think something is wrong with her," I close my eyes, I know it's low, very low but you all have my beta to thank for that.
" W.. wrong? What is it?" Ava stutters.
" High temperature, I think it's nothing to worry about," I assure her, now feeling bad.
" Nothing to worry about?!" She exclaims making me wince " You're not her pediatrician Nikolas, or did you study medicine too? I'm coming there now,"
I find myself smiling despite knowing that I'll be in so much trouble, Ava is like any mother, protective and loving, I wouldn't have asked for a better woman to be the mother of my child.
" Oops, you're in trouble," sings Justin
"It's your fucking fault!" I hiss, and I hear a sweet giggle from my daughter.
" Fucking fault,"
I put her down and cup her small face
" Now, I'm dead," I fall on the couch, as I hear my daughter repeat the words I just said.
" Man, today is not your good day," whispers Justin close to my face, I push his face away and he laughs.
" Fucking fault," Amber giggles again like she said the funniest thing.
" Amber, that's a bad word," I try to tell my daughter but she frowns
" You said it Dada, fucking fault," I lie back on the sofa, waiting for my demise when her mother gets her but glare at Justin, all this is his fault, his fucking fault

" Do you want to say that out loud?" He teases, and I give him the middle finger.
