Baby Girl

Flashback, two days ago

Today I have an appointment at the hospital, but I don't want to talk to Nik, I grab a floral dress and let my hair down with some canvas going downstairs.
When I reach the salon, Aurora is sitting quietly, it's strange to see her alone. She looks deep in her thoughts and doesn't even see me approach her.
" Hey," I wave
" Hi," she answers flatly. I seat at the coach across her, for the first time she looks at me, at my small bump, she sighs holding her head once more, what is wrong with her?
" Uum wants to escort me to the hospital," I blurb, she raises an eyebrow, I am not very close to her and I always have this feeling she doesn't like me but tolerates me. It's complicated to explain but I know she doesn't hate me either when I am around her it’s calm, she has a very calm and unique aura, surprisingly she nods standing up and we go to her car.
" How are you?" She asks softly as we get in her car.
She keeps asking how I have been and how the baby is doing. We converse a bit, she pulls into the big building, it is really big
We enter the room a nurse instructed us to, and an older woman welcomes us with a smile, I look around for Doc Amos, he is the one who takes care of me when am here and a very good friend too.
" Luna!" she bows very low to Aurora who smiles with a small nod, the city luna is famous in Crescent stone city.
The woman puts some gel around my stomach it's slimy and cold, I look at Aurora who sends a small smile my way, and keeps looking at pictures of a pregnant woman on the wall.
" Are you okay?" she nods walking around the room, I'm still not convinced something is bothering her, she's been very quiet, I mean we don't interact much but still.
" I can hear the child's heartbeat," she whispers "it's strong,"
The doctor puts a machine and starts to move it, Aurora comes closer to look at the screen, she smiles genuinely, pointing at the screen like it's the nicest thing she has ever seen. I hear the heartbeat and laugh.
it's so tiny like a little bean, she comes to wipe my tears with her thumb, I didn't even realize I was crying. Soon the door bursts open, I smile as Nik walks in forgetting that he and I aren't in a good place, Aurora points at the screen.
" Your child," Nikolas nods with a beautiful smile of his own, it's so unreal seeing his smile, it's just the perfect thing, showcasing his white straight teeth.
The City Luna walks out patting her brother's shoulder, still looking confused. She closes the door and
Nikolas comes to me, sitting beside me. He takes my hand and brings it to his lips, kissing it.
" It's a healthy baby girl, Alpha," the nurse announces, we widen our eyes looking at each other, Nikolas was right, he wanted a girl, we even bet on it. Baby girl.
Nik smiles so much I think he's going to explode with happiness as the nurse begins to clean my stomach. He kisses my forehead.
Even after leaving I can feel his lips lingering on my forehead, he holds my hand as we leave the hospital but I snatch it away, going a few steps in front, and he sigh. But doesn't say anything, when I reach the parking lot, Aurora is still in the car, her forehead against the steering wheel and hands in her hair, She looks up when we approach.
" I'm going with her," I go round to get in the passenger seat. The princess gives me a confused look but shrugs, I'm sure she has a lot to think about, the siblings told me a lot is going on, and she even looks tired and paler.
We drive silently not knowing what to say, we enter a part of the city I'm unknown to, it's all heavy tall trees and the sun is barely showing.
Soon a white almost invisible glass falls, revealing the beautiful buildings and I see mansions around or hotels but the one in the middle catches my attention.
" Beautiful," I whisper looking at this new town, its small, nice tarmacs, and well-cut grass around, leading to the mansions around.
" Welcome to the royal coven," she sighs slowing down to this amazing castle. When we get out, she leaves the car on the driveway and gestures for me to go inside, we walk and I look around when we enter it's even more bigger and magical. Two tall thin women with white skin and crimson eyes come towards us, bowing low, and take off the princess' coat as the other get her bag.
" Why are you avoiding my brother?"
" um, I don't know," I lied through my teeth, seeing him happily kissing that woman, she was new, I haven't seen her before what was it he called her again, yes Cindy. They were fucking in his room, it did a number on me.
" You saw him with another woman, who was it this time?" she laughs " well, classic brother,"
" Get out of my head Princess," I know how she can get in people's heads, read their thought and sometimes even erase some things, they did it to me once, it's called umm, umm what's that... Compulsion.
" You hungry?" She asks taking me to the kitchen where there is a variety of food already prepared,, she immediately starts to dig in the food that was at the table, first starting with pickles, then going for the lemon and something clicks. I know this sour taste and spicy food.
" You're pregnant," I whisper looking at her, she smiles sheepily but it drops to a frown, is this why she's been acting like this? How does she feel?
" How do you feel?"
"I don't know," she confesses " I'm eighteen and I don't know how to be a mum and my career," she slowly starts to cry as she continues to tell me how she feels, it's normal, she's just scared.
" Does your mate know?" she nods, I wonder how the king feels about this.
"He's freaking out, I left home and we haven't been close lately," she says, that's a first, the two are like Bonnie and Clyde, they can't leave without one another.
" Both of you need to talk about this, he's scared like you," I hold her hand and a nice sensation moves around my body, a feeling that makes everything okay, safe and it feels like a haven. for a minute I freeze, focusing on it before I continue, what was that? she nods understanding. I'm sure he's as scared as she is, the danger that comes with it, being the young new royal, more people wanting its power.
I spend the day with Aurora at the coven, we talk more about the baby. It’s the first time we have spoken like this, a real conversation, laughing and smiling. It’s actually nice, I watch her train, she does have many cool gifts.
