Saved by the king

I can’t believe i'm due in just two weeks, a lot has happened in these nine months.
And my café is growing bit by bit, the opening was amazing and a lot of people showed up, and they have been coming ever since, we had ten customers the day before yesterday that's the lowest number we had since it opened.
I am going there to see how things are doing, since I left to visit Troy, but unfortunately he wasn't home, he was busy at the hospital, he doesn’t stay far from here so I can walk and the doctor said it’s good for me.
It's dark and rainy today. I just have to make it to my Cafe, I check on the new phone, Jeremy threw away my old, he said this one is the latest. I have calls from almost all the siblings but Kat just called to check if I was doing well.
Too engrossed in my phone, a hand taps my shoulder, I squeak, turning to the direction as fear makes its way to my heart very fast.
" You're coming with us," I shake my head several times, I know this man he works for Marion. I swallow thickly, and my heart is pounding out of my chest, next to him is a tall thin man with white skin and red lips, a vampire, smiling like I'm his next meal, showing me his elongated fangs. I see the drug lord knows where I am now, i look around there is no one in the streets this time. And if I run he'll easily catch me, I look around Nik won't come, I told him to pick me up at 21.00 hrs, and I snuck out of the cafe earlier to see true, so Ben doesn't know where I am either. The two thugs keep approaching and I back away slowly until soon my back hit the hard wall of the building. I close my eyes, not wanting to look at mario's hitmen, he's muscular, and honestly all those piercing on his face scare me, but when nothing happens I finally open them but they are gone. I look around the alley, a scream pierces my ears then a thud. A second later, standing before me is the most intimating man I've ever been close to.
He is soaking wet, his hair glistening on his forehead and his eyes shining in the dark in a menacing manner. I gulp, moving away but he's quiet just watch me fidget my fingers and feet.
I keep my face down, my heart is beating a mile a minute, will he kill me? I thought Nikolas was imposing but this man is on a different level, the werewolf king assess me, then my stomach before his eyes meet mine and I'm forced to lower them on the floor. Rain is pouring down on us.
" It's dangerous to walk around this time," he says, finally breaking the silence, his voice is deep. I finally look up to him. The king of crescent stone city just saved my life. I open my mouth to speak but no words come out, I look around for a while and  that's when I see it, the vampire that attacked me is injured, his neck is mangled in a very weird shape, while the other muscular man is dangling just above us, with a deep clean cut on his neck, his eyes look like they are about to come out, there is something holding him, it's a wire, hanging to his jacket, but he looks like he might fall, how did this man do that? I didn't even see him move, I almost throw up at the sight before me.
" Let's go," he says turning on his heel, I nod following him as we get out of the dark lonely streets.
We walk in silence, when we reach a place I'm familiar I let out a sigh, the street lights look lovely, brightening up the whole place.
Only a few buildings away and I'll be in my Cafe, away from this scary man, but he's still watching me as I walk.
" Thank you," I say quietly, my voice not coming out as strong, fuck man how can Aurora interact with him the she does? I've seen how gentle and loving he is towards her too.
" Why were you alone in such a street?" He asks softly, like he’s genuinely concerned but his face is void of anything.
" I wanted to walk and Jeremy has class," I answer. And besides silver blue moon is not far from here. I didn't know I was going to meet one of the Mario's people   here but well.
" Wulfric know?" He asks, this time with a small frown, I look down I didn't tell Nik I left the cafe to visit Troy but I wanted to see troy, I missed him, I know he'll flip if he finds out someone almost got me, that was reckless of me to walk alone.
He chuckles. I open my eyes wide I've never heard him it's soft and short, almost like a snort.
"So that's a No," I nod with a small smile of my own, Nikolas is so overprotecting at times.
I wave to leave but he follows behind too as I walk. I sigh and continues till we reach the cafe.
I open, and walk in that's when he turns on his heel to go back, is he alone? What was he doing in that area in this weather
" Would you like some tea?" He stops not looking back, I stand waiting for his answer if he'll answer, I mean he has a lot of responsibility, why would want to talk to me, a human. Most people here just ignore humans but they are not hostile, it's like they pity us and are friendly.
" Sure," after what feels like forever he answers, and turns, coming my way. When we get in a few people are already having their tea, others getting cozy with their partners in booths. We take the on in the corner and I ask the waitress to bring us some Camellia tea, our speciality. I found a way to make it with Nikolas' help of course, minutes later the girl brings it, bowing when she sees the king.
It's hot, I use it to warm my hands first, but the king looks at me with a curious look, maybe the smell, it smells delightful, he finally takes it to his mouth to taste, letting the taste savor in his mouth.
" It's nice, you make the tea yourself?" He asks, I nod. Explaining how we make the tea plus it's been cold lately so business is doing very well.
He nods listening attentively, as I talk and how we manufacture it ourselves in one of the factories Nikolas got me, it was quite a bug investment and am happy to say it's one he won't regret because we are making it bit by bit, since are still new, the city Luna is very famous so when she posted it on her platform we received triple the number of people, she is influencer indeed, others will come and asked to be given the exact table she likes when she comes.
" What were you doing in that street?" I ask curious, a king just doesn't walk around like this.
"thinking," he says looking away, is he ok? He looks conflicted, is it Aurora? What happened? I shove my curious downnnnn but I'm dying to know. I keep bitting my tongue so I don't ask and tapping my feet.
" You're curious,"

" Okay fine and I'm dying here." I confess, my curiosity will be the death of me, it has gotten me in trouble so many times but also out of it.
" Aurora and Arion," I nod understanding, I know those two have a very special connection and it's ok for him to feel insecure or jealous. He was her first boyfriend, her first man.
" I understand you," I admit, thinking of Nikolas and those women, his lips turn up a bit, our situations are very similar in a way. Nik still has a connection with his first love too, his mate, I can't compete with the dead, they are perfect! Loren will always have his heart.
" You love him," he says as if reading me, I don't even bother denying it, I nod, he gives me a small smile I could have missed.
" It's not just me, it's piper and that witch bitch, his first Mate,and so many," I raise my hand to the waiter who comes to give us more tea, he looks at him for a while, and the boy looks very uncomfortable under the king's gaze, his hands literally shaking as he pours us tea, he tears his eyes away from the poor waiter to his tea.
" I know, Aurora has all these people too," he says shaking his head. Indeed Aurora has a lot of admirers, how can she not she's a Victoria secret model, cameras follow wherever she goes, I nod standing up.
" Then you need to be drinking something stronger than tea," he nods and I go to the mini bar next to the counter to look for something strong for him, I get the bottle and take it to him, it's The Macallan, oh expensive huh grabbing a glass but the waiter takes it from me, following behind.
When I get back he's on phone, texting or reading.
" Hey.. alpha.. um king?" I mutter, unsure of what to use.
" Xavier... Call me Xavier," he responds

"And you can call me Ava," I smile, he nods repeating it, before his eyes land on the bottle.
" That's one of my favorite," he says as the waiter open and pours it in a round whiskey glass.

" Just leave the whole bottle and keep the tea coming for me," I tell Kay. He's really good at his job and very committed despite his young age, why can't Jer be more like him or wait that kid is practically a billionaire and spoilt, I shake my head.
We discuss as we drink, our situations is similar so the conversation also flows naturally.
" I know, but she kissed him and fed from him once, what if he tries something again because they are getting close," he says drinking more, the bottle is almost done. " I know they have always been close and they are just friends, but last time he used his gift to manipulate her feelings that's how they ended up, making out," he sighs.
" But she's your mate, and I really think it's good she did that," he frowns once more confused. " Now there is really nothing, they both needed some closure, I bet she now knows that she can never feel that way for him again," he shrugs but agrees. I'm sure there was something at the back of her mind telling her, ' what if I still like him ' that voice was taunting her but now she knows now. That's why she keeps calling him consistently and sending him text messages even now, I smile as he responds.
"  you were made for each other," I always admire their bond a lot. He nods

" I know, she is mine, I knew the moment I laid my eyes on hers, she was eight when we met," he smiles like thinking of a good memory, playing with the glass in his hand before downing it down. Everyone knows their story, the princess snuck out of her territory to go to the black moon pack, that's how they met, he helped her out and spent the whole day together, in Aurora's own words ' it was magical, and she just knew she will love him forever' indeed, they separated for eight long years but still found their way back to each other.
This time situations were different, and he refused to ever let her go or leave like the first time.

" So what will you do about Wulfric," I groan diving deep in my seat. What if he doesn't chose me? Wait am I even a candidate? wait what the fucking saying right now, this isn't a contest.
" We've been close but the truth is that I don’t know what will happen," I shrug. Looking out the window, it's calm now and the rains have stopped. We keep discussing a while longer as I explain how I can challenge both of them in a fight for Nikolas.
" I'd love to see that," he chuckles. Looking at me as if he were imagining me in a ring, I bet I would look badass, with my all back attire.
He drinks two more glasses and I've had enough of tea, at some point I ordered some cake, cravings. It's good being pregnant, I get an excuse to eat carelessly even though everyone home watches me like a hawk and make sure I eat healthy, a lot of veggies and fruits but since they no one can see me here. And the King doesn't really care about what I eat.
" He might surprise you," he says " don't belittle yourself, you're a strong woman...
A survivor just like Aurora," he says drinking more, did Aurora tell him about what happened to me? he's right Nik once mentioned it that I know how to survive either by sheer luck or whatever deity out there watching out for me but I've survived to keep myself and baby alive from all the supernatural ten times stronger than I.
" Thank you,"

" thank you too... Ava," he looks at me for a then raise his glass towards me. Just then I see Nik walking in coming to me, he looks exhausted, and he's late, it's past 9 already. But before he can reach Alexander Alarie walks in, they salute each other before making their way here.
The king and I stand up, and Nik comes to me.
" How are you?" I look at Xavier, before nodding.
" Why are you two together?" I don't want Nik to know I went out and was attacked, He looks at me for a long time, waiting for an answer.
" I came here for a coffee," answers Xavier, I nod with gratefully. They nod and take their leave as Nik and I still watch them.
" You're drunk," the Alexander tells his brother. " The luna is nagging me, she is the one who sent me here,"
" My Aurora," he sighs as they walk " mine forever," We watch them walk out of the cafe before turning to Nikolas, he runs his fingers in his hair.
"I'll wait here," he says as I go to talk to the three employees, after telling me about the day today, we need our brief meeting, getting my bag and going back.
"You owe me $20 for that," I joke pointing at the glass of whiskey in his hand with a scowl, I notice how he doesn't like it, he prefers wine but when he drinks, he doesn't even finish his glass, he smiles checking his pockets.
" How about if I make it up with dinner and shopping?" He suggests since his pockets are empty.

" Dinner yes, shopping no," he shakes his head but I stop him, he has already bought me a lot of things, designer clothes and given me a home, now this Cafe.
" I have a lot already to thank you for," he grabs my hand as we go out the Cafe using the employee’s exit.
