I Love You

Days go by very fast, earlier in the evening I go for a walk, as usual, today Reuben decided to come with me, I found out recently that he is the beta's brother and Ben's cousin.
He is very energetic and doesn’t stop talking, he makes me laugh, and he is such a good kid.
“ it might rain,” he comments, indeed the clouds are dark and it’s very cold lately
“ Are you not cold?” I ask the boy who is wearing a vest and shorts.
“ Werewolves are usually warm,” I nod and a clap of thunder resonates. I scream and immediately turn back without a word, I see the boy trying to repress his laugh. I frown at the memory of my mother and how she sang for me during times like these.
We start to run a little but I can’t be fast because of my huge stomach, soon we are joined by Nik,
“ Reuben, go home before it starts raining,” the boy frowns a bit unhappy and the alpha ruffles his hand with his hand.
“ but shouldn’t you be worried about the Luna?” he continues talking, I remember Dora saying that the Luna is the alpha's mate, do they think we are mates? The boy keeps ranting without realizing that Nikolas froze at the word Luna, the boy looks at him with concern and regret.
“ I’m sorry,” he says quietly looking down. " Goodnight, Miss Ava, Alpha," the boy bows.
He shakes his head and we begin to walk back but Nikolas stops him, taking out his wallet and giving him money, Reuben hesitates to take it.
" You can buy that game you like so much now,"
" But I didn't work for it,"
" You stayed with Miss Aviana today," Reuben looks at me then smiles.
" I like spending time with her, therefore, won't be paid for doing so," Nikolas sighs, thinking
" I didn't give you money for delivering those files last week,"
" Now, I can take it, I thought you wouldn't pay me," he mumbles the last part as he takes the money.
and waves in my direction, we watch him run towards his house, I hear it's not too far from here and stays with his grandparents, Nikolas grabs my hand, walking to the house. I entwined my fingers In his and walk to the house as rain pours down on us, the walk is silent.
When we reach the house, we are both soaked and he untangles his fingers from mine and I hate it. I stop, grabbing his arm and he turns his neck to look at me for a while but he shakes his head and then starts to walk back inside, he gets on one stair slowly, If I don’t tell him I will never find the courage to do it again.
"I love you!" I shout, making him stop in his tracks, he doesn't react only shakes his head, I walk in front of him and cup his cheeks but he gently removes my hands, shaking his head once more, I feel tears fall but are being washed down with the rain.
" Please stop, this will only hurt you, Ava," he whispers with a pleading look, can't he see, I've known this for a long time and all I want is to beg him to love me but I know I can't, I can't force it but I am glad I confessed. " I will only hurt you, I'm not good for you," he says this time holding my neck and kissing my forehead for a long time " oh human, you deserve better,"
" But I want you," I whisper not being able to stop the tears from coming out.
" Love is weak," he leaves to run in the woods, I sit on the lawn crying loudly.
Please don't go, I feel so alone and scared. I cry until Jeremy comes running in the rain without caring that his expensive clothes, he helps me up but I cry more, the younger brother looks at me with a sympathetic look as we walk into the house, he opens the door for me and the maids comes rushing In with towels.
Dorothy helps dry my hair and hands one towel to Jeremy, who has a frown looking at his new I phone. I keep crying silently as the maid helps me to the room, finally, dry I get under the sheets hugging myself.
It's been four days and I haven't seen Nikolas, he goes out early and comes home late, why did I tell him? Stupid Ava, we had a good thing going on, I'm sure I've ruined it now. But oh well, I half smile when I smell my favorite green soup, I walk to the kitchen and my surprise I find Nikolas there, wearing a white shirt with his sleeves rolled to his elbows, he's eating the soup with a sour face, but doesn't stop.
I fidget in my tracks not knowing how to face him.
" Do you want some?" He asks, taking me by surprise, I nod grabbing a barstool next to him and he stands up to serve me. I eat slowly since it’s hot and ask for more, the chef brings me more, I enjoy its sourness and I love how hot it Is since it's very cold.
We don't say a word but I catch him glancing in my direction, then back to the soup. I continue eating happily, I taught Xavier how to make it and he says he gives it to Aurora every day now, she does love it, maybe it's the pregnancy, I notice we enjoy the same Kind of food.
I get up and put my plate away after washing it
" Goodnight, Nikolas," I yawn heading upstairs
" Goodnight too," he answers softly, on my way upstairs I meet Sarafina, what is she doing here? She comes close, observing me before her eyes land on my stomach, I back away, Is he still sleeping with this bitch after she almost killed me?
" When are you due?" She asks in a bored tone of voice, putting her hair behind. " I can't wait for the baby to come so you finally get out of our lives,"
I shake my head, holding my tummy tightly, no one is keeping me away from this baby, it's mine.
She laughs coldly, putting her hands on her waist.
" You're just a surrogate sweetie, you will hand over the baby, get paid, and leave?" She shouts, my eyes well with unshed tears, and I see Nik glaring at her too.
" No one is taking it from me," I say. I love this baby, it saved my life and gave me purpose, I'll be damned if hand a child I carried " aawr you're attached but Nik knows it, we talked about it last night while...you know," she smiles, biting her lip, and playing with her hair like a shy little girl, Nikolas comes to hold my shoulder but I move away, glaring at him too.
