Almost here

I can't find a better position to sleep in or sit in.
I get up from bed and pace around the room when the door opens. I smile as my eyes meet Nik's beautiful ones. Lately, he works at home to watch over me.
" Hey, love," he greets. I turn away blushing a bit as my eyes sway to his bare torso.
" Hi baby daddy," That's what I call him these days and he likes it.
" I am going to go to bed, do you need anything?" He asks.
" No, Good night," I say.
" Hmm," he tilts his neck a bit to look at me " No foot massage today? Um ok.." he turns to leave but I stop him
" Wait!" I call, and he slowly turns like he was expecting me to do that.
" Well, am not saying I want a good massage but if you insist," I say quietly and he chuckles, shaking his head.
" Well, I don't insist," he crosses his arms over his chest, I huff loudly and sit on a bed with a pout like a kid, acting pitiful.
" I haven't found a good position to sleep or sit in lately, and I feel tired of every little thing... And someone won't give me a simple foot massage," I sigh.
" Oh my poor human, are you tired?" he says sweetly getting on one knee, His fingers caress my cheek and as usual a delightful shiver runs throughout my body. He called me human, yes his. I nod my head.
" Why is my baby taking longer to come? Aurora's son came hours ago," Aurora has delivered a baby boy and they named him Julian Wulfric Alarie. A silver dragon appeared as his protector.
" That dragon prince almost sucked my sister dry," Nikolas grimaced. It's a miracle she survived the birth.
" I called Xavier, and he said she is still sleeping," I inform him.
" Xavier huh, now you're on first name bases," he grumbles.
" Are you jealous?"
" No," He's quick to answer. I roll my eyes, they are both powerful alphas but bicker like kids.
" The Alaries swayed their way into my family, got both my sisters, you're the only one I have that they don't, and I want to keep it this way," he states, acting like a kid, this is a rare sight to see.
" Xavier is my friend, but my loyalty and priority go to you first, you already know that," I assure the big alpha. He smiles.
" I know little human, you can't live without me," he boasts, and I hit his shoulder playfully. He's right.
I moan as Nik starts to massage my feet.

" Don't worry, ours In coming in a few hours," he assures me, Kissing my bump and I feel a strange sensation in my belly.
Nik is suddenly close to my face and I can feel his minty breath. My heart is pacing and I close my eyes as he places his lips on mine, he moves gently and I do the same. The kiss was short and sweet.
We stare into each other's eyes for a long time, my fingers caressing his clean jawline and he quickly kisses me and stands up.
I stand up too, none of us saying a word and I suck in a breath as he whispers,

" Goodnight, love,"
" Hmm, goodnight Nikolas," I breathe, my heart still erratic from the sweet kiss we shared.

A sharp pain wakes me up from my dreamless slumber and I scream. Holding my stomach, and within a minute, the door burst open.
" Ava, are you alright?" Nik asks, he looks terrified.
" Better," I smile looking at him, but he still looks very worried.
" Is it the.. baby?" he asks stuttering, since when does he stutter?
" Yes, almost here," I whisper on the verge of tears when my water breaks.
" Finally, almost here," he repeats.
Nikolas drives me to the hospital, closely followed by Justin, Jeremy, and Daniella.

" Someone call Mrs. Smith." Nikolas holds my hand as the midwifery gets things ready.
" Kat already did," I lie on the bed, taking in deep breaths and rubbing my stomach with my free hand since Nikolas is holding the other.
He kisses my stomach and then my forehead.
" Hey, Mama, are you excited to meet her?" Daniella tries to smile but with the way he and Jeremy are interacting, I can tell something is wrong between them. We exchange a few words before Jeremy interrupts us,
" Dani, let's talk please," pleads Jeremy, but she glares at him.
" Does this honestly look like the time or place," The young Wulfric looks around
" We'll talk later then," whispers Jeremy to Dani.
" Don't hold your breath," she smiles coldly.
" Take a deep breath, Ava," Instructs Doctor Amos. I nod to the doctor and my eyes go in search of Nikolas. He's talking to Kat in hushed tones. Feeling my gaze on him, he smiles at me but I sense something is wrong and I was right when Daniella squeezes my hand, assuring me that I'll be fine, I'll survive but I distract myself with negative emotions and ask,
" what is going on between you and Jeremy, why have you been avoiding him?"
Daniella's eyes well with tears and before she can speak, she stops herself, only smiling and saying, " This is a joyous occasion, am not ruining it for you,"
Nikolas comes to me, and the little witch stands up from the edge of the bed and leaves the room only to come back a few minutes later with a mug in her hand. I scowl when she asks me to drink the contents.
" It will help with childbirth, you are a human giving birth to a pure alpha pup," She says, I often forget that the baby inside my belly is not human like me, the doctors warned that the labor will be critical. I drink the slimy green contents in the mug with a grimace, making Nik smile.
Suddenly fear starts to creep in, and both the witch and Nikolas come close as if sensing it.
