CHAPTER 327

The crowd’s anger was reaching a boiling point, and Arianna knew that if they lost all control, the situation could turn violent, with much worse consequences.

Pressing her back against the wall as much as she could, Arianna kept her body facing forward to minimize the exposure to attacks.

Her eyes darted around quickly, noting that the girls were mostly to her left while the boys were to her right. Without hesitation, she made a swift decision and chose the left as her path to escape.

Feigning an attempt to flee right, Arianna lifted her leg, aiming a kick toward the boys.

They quickly noticed her movement and dodged, but she anticipated their reaction and shifted her leg mid-motion, sweeping it across to the left. Her kick sent several girls tumbling to the ground in a heap.

“Ahh—”

The surprise of her sudden attack gave Arianna the opening she needed. Without wasting a moment, she darted away from the group, sprinting as fast as her legs could carry her.

The students were momentarily stunned before they quickly snapped back into action.

“She’s fighting back! Don’t let her get away! Catch her!”

The chase was on.

Arianna pushed her body to its limit, her feet pounding the pavement as she sprinted. She managed to pull ahead of the girls, but the boys were closing in fast, gaining on her with every step.

They reached out, grasping her clothes and bag, but she fought them off each time, managing to break free and keep running.

Just when she thought she was almost free, she approached a sharp corner. Distracted by the boys behind her, she didn’t notice the discarded wine bottle lying in her path. Her foot landed on it, sending her sliding uncontrollably.

Before she could regain her balance, she stumbled forward and crashed to the ground with a painful thud.

Arianna groaned, the pain shooting through her body as she tried to push herself up.

Arianna's knees and palms scraped painfully against the ground, and blood began to trickle from the cuts. She pushed through the pain, struggling to rise to her feet, but as she stood, a sharp pain shot through her knees, causing her to crumple back down again.

Before she could recover, a group of male students reached her, grabbing her arms and pinning her to the ground.

One of the heavier boys was panting heavily, his face red with exertion. With a cruel sneer, he shoved Arianna’s head down and mocked,

“Why don’t you keep running now?”

Mia, along with a few of her classmates, finally arrived at the scene, her face twisted in malice.

“You had your chance, Arianna, but you didn’t take it. Now, it’s time to show everyone exactly who you are!”

She turned to the group and suggested,

“How about we write down everything she’s done and stick it all over her? Let’s parade her through the streets like the villain she is!”

One of the girls eagerly responded,

“Yeah, let’s show no mercy to someone like her!”

Another student added, “I’ll go grab the posters. Let’s make sure everyone knows what she’s really like.”

Several girls hurried to get paper and pens, scribbling down her supposed wrongdoings.

They slapped the posters on Arianna’s body, stamping them down with their feet, securing them onto her with force.

Arianna struggled, but the boys holding her down made sure she couldn’t move. Her body was soon plastered with black letters on white paper, listing everything they accused her of, each word a sharp reminder of her supposed crimes.

Mia grinned maliciously.

“Get her up. There’s a busy street ahead. Let’s drag her there and make her face the world.”

A student nearby said, “I’ll record this. She’ll get all the attention she deserves.”

Another chimed in, “I’ve got a megaphone. I’ll stand right next to her and shout about her wrongdoings.”

A third added, “She wants fame, right? Well, we’ll give her the kind of attention she never asked for.”

Mia smiled in satisfaction.

“Perfect. Let’s get started.”

The boys tightened their hold on Arianna’s arms and hoisted her up, while several girls eagerly pointed their phones at her. One girl with a small megaphone cleared her throat and began speaking to the bystanders.

“Excuse me, everyone—”

Before she could finish her sentence, a loud crash interrupted her.

“Ahh—”

The megaphone was knocked from her hand by a powerful force.

Everyone froze, their eyes drawn to the tall, imposing figure who had appeared before them.

The man was strikingly handsome, his sharp features giving off an air of intensity.

But it was the icy coldness surrounding him that made everyone instinctively step back, feeling a chill run through them.

Arianna’s gaze softened with a mixture of surprise and relief when she looked up and saw him.

The boys were the first to react. The heavier one stepped forward, positioning himself in front of the girls as if to shield them. He shoved his hand toward the man’s shoulder, glaring.

“Who do you think you are? You’re in the way—”

Before he could finish, the man’s grip clamped down on his wrist with incredible force.

The boy winced in pain, his expression shifting as he tried to pull free, but the man’s grip was unyielding.

“Was it this hand that touched her?” the man asked coldly, a dangerous smile creeping across his face.

Without another word, the man twisted the boy’s arm. The boy cried out in agony as his arm was dislocated with a sickening snap.

Panic rippled through the crowd as they watched in shock.

It wasn’t long before the realization set in.

The man was none other than Xander King, the CEO of King Enterprises, known for his ruthless business dealings and his cold demeanour.

But more importantly, he was Arianna’s husband.

Xander released his grip on the heavyset boy and surveyed the group with a cold, piercing gaze. His lips barely moved as he spoke a single, chilling word:

“Leave.”

The commanding presence he exuded was enough to make anyone uneasy, and it was clear that even a group of students wasn’t immune to it.

The students exchanged nervous glances, fear evident in their eyes, and they instinctively took a step back.

Except for one.

Mia, her teeth clenched, and her body trembling with defiance held her ground.

“Mr.… Mr. King,” she stammered, trying to steady her voice despite her fear.

“We’re only trying to get justice for our friend. All the terrible things your wife did pushed Linda to the brink—she hasn’t woken up since. We’re not in the wrong here!”

She took a deep breath and pressed on, her voice shaking but firm,

“Do you think just because you’re powerful, you can shield your wife from the consequences of her actions? Do you think wealth gives you the right to avoid responsibility?”
