CHAPTER 345

“It'll be just a simple car accident. Their deaths will be nothing more than a coincidence.”

The bodyguard understood Brian’s cold intention.

No one would question a car accident, and they could easily blame it on the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Renee and Arianna.

“Understood, Sir.”

After hanging up, the bodyguard turned to the driver. “The boss wants them gone.”

The driver nodded grimly, pressing the accelerator to close the gap between them and the fleeing car.

Arianna had just veered off the highway when several more vehicles appeared behind her. Realizing at once that Brian had sent reinforcements, she clenched her jaw, determination flashing in her eyes.

Her instincts kicked in, and she used the surrounding traffic to her advantage, weaving through the cars with precision.

But the pursuit was more relentless than she anticipated. Eight vehicles in total. Two on either side boxed her in, while five others blocked off the path ahead.

The road was soon empty except for her car, and there was no traffic left to hide in.

Arianna initially thought they were just trying to force her off the road, but the true plan became clear when the cars on her left and right slammed into her, trapping her car in a brutal sandwich of metal.

In the next instant, the car behind Arianna's slammed into the back of her vehicle, the force of the impact sending her and her two passengers jolting forward.

Renee, already weak and exhausted, had no strength to brace herself, crashing painfully against the seat in front of her. A pained groan escaped her lips as sweat beaded on her forehead.

Arianna's face hardened with fury.

She had known that Brian was capable of cruelty after seeing how he had treated Renee, but this—this was beyond anything she could have imagined. He wasn’t just trying to reclaim Renee; he was willing to kill her to silence the past, to ensure his dark secrets stayed buried.

Arianna clenched the steering wheel tightly, her knuckles white. There was no way she was going to let him get away with that.

“Ronald, Renee, hang on!” she shouted.

Without a second of hesitation, she spun the steering wheel to the left, slamming her foot down on the accelerator, pushing the car to 120 miles per hour. The sudden manoeuvre sent the car on her left veering wildly away, giving her the precious space she needed to gain control.

Arianna showed no signs of slowing down and was ready to continue pushing to the left.

The driver of the car on her left was taken aback by her boldness, but when the two cars were on the verge of colliding, he quickly swerved away, unwilling to risk the crash.

Arianna couldn’t help but smirk. With the sudden gap she created, she quickly turned the steering wheel to the right and sped forward.

Behind her, the remaining vehicles struggled to keep pace. Unable to brake in time, they crashed into one another, creating chaos in their wake.

Through the rearview mirror, Arianna saw that at least four cars had collided and were now out of the race.

‘Well, that’s what they get,’ she thought, her resolve firm.

Ronald, who had been holding his breath through the entire ordeal, couldn’t believe what he was witnessing. He had seen the kind of stunts that were only possible in movies, and yet, here it was, happening right in front of him.

What truly stunned him, however, was that the one pulling off these jaw-dropping moves wasn’t some action hero—it was the calm and composed woman sitting next to him, Arianna.

In a daze, he unconsciously pinched his thigh, wincing from the sharp pain.

Tears welled in his eyes as he realized this was no dream—it was all too real.

Arianna couldn’t help but marvel at her skills for a moment. Where had she even learned to drive like that? The smoothness of the manoeuvres, the timing, the precision—it was all just incredible.

But the chase wasn’t over. Although four of the cars had been taken out, there were still four remaining in pursuit, relentless and determined. The damage to her car from earlier made it clear that it wouldn’t last much longer under this kind of pressure.

The thought of continuing the chase like this was too risky.

A confrontation wouldn’t be enough to shake them off. What she needed was a way to outsmart them.

Arianna quickly turned to Ronald and ordered, “Get me directions to the nearest shopping mall!”

Ronald snapped back to reality, his mind racing. He immediately grabbed his phone, pulled up a map, and then said, “There’s a mall about ten minutes away.”

“Perfect,” Arianna replied, her mind already working through the next phase of the plan.

Once they reached the mall, Arianna drove into the underground parking lot, expertly navigating her way to a secluded spot. She turned off the engine and looked at Ronald, her expression serious.

“We need to split up,” she said. “I’ll lead them away while you get Renee to Professor Cornwell. Protect her at all costs—she’s your priority.”

Ronald’s face hardened, and he immediately protested, “No, Mrs. King, I’ll be the one to lure them away. This is getting more dangerous by the second, and they’re becoming more desperate!”

Arianna’s gaze was unwavering as she met his objections.

“Ronald, I need you to trust me. You have to protect her.”

"Listen, Mrs. King, beyond the fact that I was specifically assigned to protect you, it’s my responsibility as a man to look after you both. No matter what happens, I must ensure your safety. I can’t allow you to take on this risk for me."

"But—"

Ronald cut her off.

His voice softened but remained firm. "If anything happens to you, I won't be able to face Mr. King again."

With that, he unbuckled his seatbelt, stepped out of the car, and moved swiftly to the driver’s side. Without giving her a chance to protest, he opened the door and gently but firmly pulled Arianna out of the seat.

“You need to escape with Renee. I’ll handle drawing them away.”

Arianna was still hesitant, about to speak up, when Ronald pressed,

“If you don’t go now, they’ll catch us. If they catch up, none of us will make it out. Please, Mrs. King, leave now, and don’t worry about me. They’re not after me—they’ll be focused on you.”

His words, though difficult to hear, made sense.

Arianna hesitated, but she knew she couldn’t argue further.
