CHAPTER 68

"Husband?" Piper's disbelief echoed through the receiver, her tone rising with incredulity.

"Arianna is married? Since when? And who on earth is her husband?"

Violet's expression remained composed, though inwardly, she was equally surprised by the unexpected twist of events.

Realizing the futility of further inquiry, Violet ended the call. Turning to face her daughter's growing agitation, she sighed softly.

"Piper, there's no need to make a scene. Keep your composure. Remember, you're meant to be the future matriarch of the King family."

Piper struggled to contain her emotions, her initial shock giving way to simmering anger.

"But Mom, can you believe this? Arianna's not just some innocent victim. She's got a husband, and she's been playing games this whole time!"

Violet placed a calming hand on Piper's shoulder.

"I understand your frustration, Piper, but rash actions won't help. Let's handle this with grace and dignity."

However, Piper's resolve had already solidified. "I'm calling Xander right now. He needs to know the truth about Arianna."

Piper reached for her phone, eager to dial Xander's number and share her newfound discovery with him.

However, before she could even unlock her phone, Violet's hand shot out, halting her movements. The seriousness in Violet's tone was palpable as she delivered a stern warning to her daughter.

"Piper, how many times do I have to tell you? Impulsive actions will only lead to trouble. We need to strategize and plan our next steps carefully."

Feeling chastised, Piper relented, her expression reflecting her frustration and disappointment. She knew better than to argue with her mother when she was in such a serious mood.

Violet's mind raced with thoughts. While she couldn't care less about Arianna's marital status, she understood the importance of knowing who her husband was and what influence he held. It was crucial information that could potentially be leveraged to their advantage.

Piper wasted no time in picking up her phone and dialing her contacts, her mind buzzing with curiosity about Arianna's mysterious husband.

After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, the phone finally rang.

Listening intently, Piper absorbed the information being relayed to her.

"Not long ago, Arianna married a wealthy man, but he's quite enigmatic. There are rumors swirling around that he's suffered disfiguring injuries from an accident, has a volatile temperament, and struggles with intimacy due to his condition."

Piper's lips curled into a satisfied smile as she processed the details. It seemed that Arianna's marriage was far from conventional, but it was precisely this intriguing revelation that sparked a glimmer of excitement in Piper's eyes.

She ended the call, feeling a surge of determination coursing through her veins. There was much to uncover about Arianna's husband, and Piper was determined to unearth every secret he held.

Piper's lips curled into a smug smile as she absorbed the information about Arianna's peculiar marriage.

"That Arianna, always one step ahead. Marrying a man like that for money? She truly has no shame."

Violet raised a hand to silence her daughter's tirade. "Enough, Piper. We have what we need now. Let's bide our time and see how this plays out."

Piper nodded in agreement, acknowledging her mother's wisdom.

"You're right, Mom. We'll wait for the right moment to strike."

With a shared understanding, mother and daughter exchanged a knowing glance, confident in their newfound advantage over Arianna.

In the villa's bedroom, Arianna emerged from the bathroom, freshly bathed, just as Xander entered carrying the familiar medical kit in his hand.

She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the sight. "Are you moonlighting as a nurse now?" she teased lightly.

Xander settled onto the sofa with a commanding air. "Come here," he instructed in his usual authoritative tone.

Arianna shook her head with a small smile. "I don't have any new wounds, Xander. In fact, I barely got hurt today. It was the other party who came out worse off."
