CHAPTER 51

Xander approached Arianna and fixed his gaze on her. Instead of taking immediate action, he firmly grasped her wrist and started dragging her away.

Arianna wasn’t surprised. They were in a public place, and Xander, as the CEO of the King Corporation and the heir to the King family, had a reputation to uphold.

He couldn't afford to be seen manhandling a woman on the street. She knew he would find a more private place to deal with her and seek retribution for his new girlfriend.

Arianna was compelled to keep up with Xander's brisk pace. His long strides made it difficult for her to follow, but she gritted her teeth and remained silent.

They reached his car, which was parked by the curb.

Xander hauled her to the front passenger seat, yanked the door open, shoved her inside, and then slammed the door shut.

He quickly settled into the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove off at high speed.

Arianna didn't need to glance at Xander to sense his foul mood. She could already envision the torment he had in store for her later.

Yet, she remained defiant.

After all, the one who instigates chaos is always at fault. Besides, Piper had shown no mercy. If Arianna backed down now, who’s to say Piper wouldn’t try to destroy her next time?

Throughout her time overseas, Arianna had come to realize through difficult experiences that tolerating mistreatment only served to empower her abusers.

Choosing not to respond only emboldened those who tormented her. If she showed any sign of weakness, they would exploit it to the fullest extent.

As a result, she firmly believed in standing up for herself until her adversaries fully grasped that she was not someone to be taken lightly. It was only when they truly feared her that she could find some semblance of peace.

Finally, after what seemed like an endless amount of time, the car eventually came to a halt.

Arianna glanced around, feeling puzzled. She had expected Xander to take her to some secluded spot, finish her off, and bury her. Instead, they had returned to the villa.

Moreover, Grandma King was still residing in the villa.

Maybe Xander's plan was to publicly expose her cruelty in front of Grandma King. That way, Grandma King would be disappointed in her and withdraw her protection.

Arianna's mind was filled with wild speculations as Xander swiftly left the vehicle and made his way towards her. With a hint of contempt, he coolly ordered,

"Get out of the car."

Arianna sat still, lost in her thoughts, unsure of what to do.

Xander's lips formed a mysterious smile.

"Are you having difficulties? Should I lend you a hand?"

At his suggestion, Arianna  shook her head and quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and reluctantly stepped out of the car.

Regardless of Xander's intentions to seek revenge on Piper, Arianna refused to be intimidated.

The worst-case scenario would be Xander taking her life. However, Arianna's belief in reincarnation rendered even death inconsequential to her.

With determination in her eyes, Arianna allowed Xander to pull her by the wrist toward the villa.

The night had already fallen, and Grandma King was likely resting in her quarters. Only Aunt Julie occupied the living room, engrossed in a popular idol drama.

Upon hearing commotion, Aunt Julie glanced over and observed Arianna and Xander returning.

However, sensing an air of tension, she refrained from offering a greeting and maintained her silence.

Aunt Julie observed as Xander led Arianna upstairs, and the sound of a slamming door followed soon after.

With the late hour weighing heavily on her mind, Aunt Julie couldn't help but feel concerned.

Were they engaged in another altercation? Should she inform Grandma King of the situation?

Thrown onto the bed in the bedroom, Arianna's body jolted upon impact. As she landed, she swiftly adjusted her posture and locked her eyes onto Xander, her expression filled with caution.

Arianna's concern didn't stem from a fear of Xander seeking revenge. Enduring a few physical blows or slaps for Piper's sake was something she could handle, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease when it came to Xander's true intentions.

The unsettling notion of Xander potentially resorting to darker and more malicious tactics lingered in Arianna's mind, refusing to be shaken off.

Xander's eyes sparkled with a hint of mockery, as if he had fully understood the depths of Arianna's inner struggles.

"Are you still capable of feeling fear? I thought you were immune to it," he said.

Uninterested in engaging in a verbal duel with him, Arianna ignored his taunting comments that were known to deeply hurt others. Instead, she fixed her unwavering gaze on Xander and confidently stated,

"Xander, if you truly possess the qualities of a true man, then speak your mind without any more delay."
