CHAPTER 367

“It’s your fault, though. I’m sore all over now…”

Xander’s energy was truly something else.

He had kept her awake through the night, pushing her limits in all sorts of ways, yet he was up early again for his morning workout, looking as though he hadn’t even broken a sweat. Meanwhile, she could barely keep her eyes open from exhaustion.

Xander grinned as he sat beside her on the bed. His voice held a hint of smug satisfaction.

“Yeah. It’s all my fault.”

Xander at least knew how to admit when he was wrong.

Arianna felt some relief and was ready to praise him when he said,

"I'll try to hold back next time."

Her compliment got stuck in her throat, and her eyes widened.

"Next time? Are you already thinking about another chance? There won't be a next time!"

She thought he had learned from this, but it seemed he hadn't changed at all.

If she had the strength, she would have hit him in the chest!

Xander noticed her frustrated look and smiled wider. He bent down to kiss her softly, his voice smooth as he said,

“Since it's all my fault, let me make it up to you. I can help you freshen up.”

His voice was warm and comforting, a tone she recognized from before, yet it always stirred something inside her. Despite everything, Arianna found it hard to resist him.

Arianna couldn’t keep up her anger for even a minute.

She wasn’t about to refuse Xander's offer to take care of her. She lifted her chin, adopting a slightly haughty attitude as she said,

"I suppose I’ll allow it."

Xander chuckled softly. He reached out to tap the tip of her nose with his fingers before gently lifting her in his arms and carrying her to the bathroom.

He placed her on the vanity, filled a cup with mouthwash, and squeezed some toothpaste onto the toothbrush. Instead of handing it over immediately, he looked at her with a smirk and asked,

"Would you prefer to do it yourself, or should I brush your teeth for you?"

Such consideration from him.

Arianna took the toothbrush from his hand.

“I’ll do it myself.”

As she brushed, her mind returned to the ‘special day’ that had been in her thoughts earlier. She had tried to figure it out, but the meaning of it still eluded her as she glanced at Xander.

After rinsing her mouth, Arianna took the towel Xander handed her. She gently washed her face and wiped it clean, then paused as a thought crossed her mind.

“Xander.”

Xander was shaving, his movements smooth and precise, each motion exuding a quiet confidence.

He glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

“What is it?”

Arianna hesitated for a moment, then asked casually,

“Are you coming back for dinner tonight?”

She studied his face closely, watching for any subtle shift in expression.

Xander’s face remained unreadable as he responded coolly,

“I’ve got something planned for tonight.”

‘Something planned…’

The words sent a ripple of doubt through her. Could it be that the message Harmony had sent about meeting him wasn’t just wishful thinking?

Was tonight the special day they had been talking about?

Was Xander going to meet Harmony later?

Arianna’s grip on the towel tightened, but she kept her expression composed, forcing a small, innocent smile to cover her unease.

Arianna casually asked, “Is it work again?”

After Xander finished shaving, he wiped his face with a towel and turned to face her. A smirk played on his lips as he leaned in closer, his voice teasing,

“What’s going on? Are you interrogating me now?”

Arianna quickly recovered, her tone light and carefree.

“Not at all, I’m just concerned about your health! You’re always working so much, who knows when it might catch up with you?”

Xander raised an eyebrow, his face dangerously close now. He smirked, his voice dropping into something suggestive.

“Don’t you know how strong I am? Or should I prove it to you right now?”

The intensity of his presence made Arianna instinctively lean back. She quickly recovered and exaggerated her response with a forced cheerfulness,

“Forget it! You’re in amazing shape! The absolute best! Truly impressive!”

If Xander were to pursue things further with her again, Arianna knew she'd likely be bedridden for a couple of days, recovering from the intense energy he always brought.

Xander smiled at her reaction, clearly enjoying the teasing. He then lifted her effortlessly, carrying her out of the bathroom and down the stairs.

Arianna’s emotions swirled as she rested in his arms, still uncertain about his earlier response.

After breakfast, Xander left for the office, and Arianna was left feeling uneasy, barely able to eat. As she made her way to the living room, she overheard Grandma King on the phone.

It was the beauty salon calling to remind her of her appointment. When she hung up, she turned to Arianna with a warm smile.

"You don’t need to go to work today, right, Arianna? Why don’t you come with me for a spa treatment? You’ve been so busy lately, it’s time to relax and unwind."

Arianna had little interest at first, but after some consideration, she figured it was better than staying home and letting her mind wander. A distraction might do her some good.

Arianna nodded in agreement. “Alright, I’ll head upstairs to change.”

Grandma King smiled and nodded,

“Take your time.”

.............

The car drove out of the villa, heading towards the city centre. After about an hour, they arrived at the entrance of the beauty salon.

Both of them stepped out of the car and walked into the salon.

The manager, who had been expecting them, greeted them with a warm smile.

“Welcome, Madam.”

His expression shifted when he saw Arianna. “Ah, Mrs. King! It's such a pleasure to have you here!”

Arianna smiled politely. “Hello.”

The manager continued, “Your VIP room is prepared. Please, follow me.”

Arianna assisted Grandma King as they followed the manager down the hall. Just as they were a few steps in, a figure suddenly appeared in front of them, blocking their path.
