CHAPTER 33
"Yeah...Yeah. Whatever" he mumbled
Xander wiped the corner of his lips with his fingers, a cocky smile playing on his face. He leaned in closer, his voice low and mocking, "Each time you bring up our divorce, I’ll kiss you once. If you want to say that word, then do continue."
Arianna gasped for air, her pale face flushed with anger. She glared at Xander, her eyes blazing with fury.
In this moment, Arianna didn’t look intimidating; instead, she seemed dangerously alluring. Her vulnerability only heightened her appeal, making her look both fragile and fiercely defiant.
Xander's gaze darkened, and he swallowed hard. His voice deepened as he said, "Arianna, are you doing this on purpose? You’re so sick, yet you still dare to seduce me."
Seduce him? The absurdity of the accusation left Arianna momentarily speechless. She gathered her thoughts, her frustration bubbling over.
"Seduce you? What are you talking about? I'm barely able to sit up, and you think I'm trying to seduce you?"
Xander’s expression hardened, but there was a flicker of something softer in his eyes, a hesitation. He straightened, his grip on her loosening.
"You’re not going anywhere, Arianna. This marriage isn’t over just because you say it is."
Arianna's anger flared anew.
"You think you can control everything, don't you? You think you can intimidate me into staying with you? Well, I'm not going to play your game, Xander."
Xander's jaw tightened, but he didn't respond immediately. Instead, he stepped back, creating a small distance between them.
The room was filled with a tense silence, the air thick with unspoken words and unresolved emotions.
Arianna watched him warily, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she had to stand her ground, even though every fiber of her being felt exhausted and worn out.
"GIVE ME A DIVORCE!" she shouted at him.
Arianna had barely caught her breath when Xander turned back towards her, a storm of emotions raging in his eyes. He moved swiftly, crossing the room in a few long strides. Before she could react, he had her by the shoulders, his grip firm and unyielding.
"Xander, let go of me," she demanded, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and defiance.
Ignoring her words, Xander's grip tightened. "You just don't get it, do you? We're not getting divorced."
Arianna's heart raced, a mix of dread and anger surging through her.
"And I told you, Xander, I want out. This marriage is over."
Xander's expression darkened further.
"I warned you," he muttered, almost to himself. Without another word, he pulled her closer, capturing her lips in a bruising, forceful kiss.
Arianna struggled against him, her fists pounding against his chest, but he was relentless. She could feel his anger in every harsh movement, his frustration in the way he held her captive. She tried to turn her head away, but he held her firmly in place, his lips insistent and unforgiving.
"Mmm... let... me... go," she managed to gasp between kisses, her words muffled against his mouth.
Xander finally released her, his breath coming in harsh pants.
"Like i said, every time you mention divorce, this is what you’ll get," he said, his voice low and threatening.
Xander’s shameless words ignited a fierce anger in Arianna. In that moment, she couldn’t care about the consequences. She grabbed the glass on the bedside table and hurled it at Xander with all her might.
“Get the hell out!”
The glass struck Xander’s arm before shattering on the floor.
Xander glanced at the spot where the glass had hit, a dangerous glint in his eyes. His lips curled into a sneer.
“Arianna, I think you’ve got a death wish.”
Just then, a loud, authoritative voice echoed through the room,
“I think you’re the one with a death wish!”
The next second, Grandma King stormed into the room, wielding her cane. She brought it down hard on Xander’s back.
With each strike, Grandma King scolded him,
“You scoundrel! Did I ever teach you to treat a woman like this? You’re a grown man now! Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?”
Xander recoiled from the blows, a mix of shock and anger flashing across his face.
“What the fu*k Grandma, stop it!” he protested, trying to fend off her cane.
Grandma King’s fury didn’t wane. She continued to swing the cane, her voice trembling with righteous anger.
"Language!" she scolded
“You need to learn your lesson. This is unacceptable behavior! You don’t get to treat Arianna or any woman this way. Do you hear me?”
Arianna watched in stunned silence, her heart pounding. The sight of Grandma King defending her so fiercely brought a mix of relief and gratitude. She had never expected such a turn of events.
Finally, Grandma King ceased her assault, but she kept her stern gaze fixed on Xander.
"You're nothing but a bully!" She shouted
Xander erupted into incredulous laughter. “Me, bullying her?”
Could Grandma not see Arianna hurling the glass at him?
“You’re not going to admit it?” she turned her gaze to Arianna, her expression expectant.
“Arianna, did he bully you?”
Xander fixed Arianna with a penetrating stare, his tone sharp.
“Tell her. Did I bully you?”
