Chapter 21

LUTHER'S POV

   We arrive at the house. It was the house Violet grew in, the house I last worked in. It was still the same, still big, still beautiful, still vintage.

Violet takes in a deep breath "Still has that smell, I can't believe father gave this to me".

" Of course he did, it's your home after all". I watch her walk to the living room, and I follow her from behind.

She reaches a point and kneels, she slowly uses her fingers to touch the ground "It was right here".

" What was?" I ask out of my curiosity

"Where he died, where he was murdered, it was right here, I remember it so clearly".

I place my hand on her shoulder trying to comfort her "it's okay, everything is going to be fine, we'll figure out everything and make them pay for what they did to you".

She smiles at me " Thank you, Luther".

"That's enough now". I help her get back on her feet "We are going to need to track down the maid who claimed to have seen you, I'm sure someone put her up to it". She nods " Why dont you go get some rest?, I'll bring your things up later".

"Okay then, I'll be in my room".

"Need help up the stairs?".

"No, I'm fine, I can manage". I smile at her

" Alright then". I watch her go up the stairs. I walk towards the place she knelt, I examine the room, I look to my right and I see the dining room, I try to imagine the scenario, but something wasn't right.

I unpacked our thing, I took Violet's things to her room, I see her asleep, I smile watching that peaceful look on her face, she's beautiful.

I carefully arrange her things in the closet

I suddenly hear the notification sound of my phone, I check it out and I see an invitation. 'Come celebrate with us, two years of love and happiness' I instantly scoff.

I follow their social media with a private account, so I would be able to see what they're up to.

What are they planning now?, maybe Violet hasn't become a threat to them yet, I guess they still need a little shake.

I know what we have to do.


__________ The next day.Violet yawns with her mouth wide open stretching her hands 

I chuckle "You're awake".

She pauses " What are you doing here?". She instantly felt flustered 

I smile " I came to see if you were awake, actually you slept for quite a long time".

She responds with a surprised look on her face "Did I? what time is it?".

"10 am, but it's fine, it still gives us 9 hours to get ready".

She gets confused "Get ready? where are we going?".

"Well, we have a long day ahead of us young lady, why dont you get a shower, then we'll go shopping". I leave her in the room, I know she still had a lot to ask me, I'll explain on the way, but for now, time isn't on our side.


We were able to take one of Violet's father's cars, lucky for us they were still there.

"An anniversary party huh?" she asks with a sad tone in her voice

With my eyes concentrated on the road, I ask "Does it bother you?".

She sighs " Does it make me pathetic when if I say it does?".

"Of course not, you have every right to feel that way, don't worry, we won't let them have their way".

"What's the plan then? do we just go?, I doubt that".

We arrive at the shopping mall, and ladies in uniform greet us.

"Please find her something to wear, something that will make her stand out".I ordered

" We'll try our best". They take Violet with them 

They bring her out, she was wearing a red shimmering dress with silver detailing.

"Not her look". They take her back in, they bring her back out wearing a blue dress with a white furry coat 

" Not bad, but it isn't giving me that, drama". They take her back in, they bring her back out, she had on a black lacy sexy dress, it brought out her body, it made her look fierce, immediately I knew it was the one.

"Perfect, do you have a mask?".

After we were done with the dress, we go to a cafe to get something to eat, we had to skip breakfast to get a dress on time.

" Are you nervous?". I ask worried, she seems to be hesitating taking a bite from her burger

"Just have a lot on my mind that's all, but I'm okay".I noticed her legs were a bit shaky

" You sure?".

She fakes a smile "of course I am, you dont need to worry about me, so, how are we going to get in the party?".

" Well, I gave it some thought, the fact they decided to throw an anniversary party right after you show up means they're up to something, if you show up they have something planned, if you dont, then you've surely given them what they want".

"So what's going to happen?".

I wear a smirk  "We are going to surprise them, we are going to sneak into the party, that's why I asked for the mask".

"How?, I'm sure they won't just let anyone in".I put a potato chip in her mouth 

" You underestimate me young lady, have you forgotten I use to work here? a certain security staff owe me a favour, so getting you in is not a problem".

"We are going to do this huh".

" Yea is time the world knows you are still alive".


7 pm we were at the event right on time, The security checked all the guests driving in, and we manage to pass.

it's like some big event night, all kinds of important people were around. There's  a red carpet where a lot of paparazzi were, everyone's meant to walk on the carpet, important or not, the paparazzi chose who they were to attack with their cameras anyway.

"It's time to come down". I said to Violet, I could tell she was nervous

" aren't you coming with me?". She asked concerned

I smile at her "I'll meet you inside okay? make sure you keep your mask on, you got this. Before I forget". I hand her a staff "I know it's nothing like your old one, but I hope you get to make good memories with this one".

She puts on a smile " Wow, thank you so much, Luther" she responds with excitement  

"You really shouldn't, now, get out there".

 She opens the door getting out of the car, the fact she wore a mask made the paparazzi more curious, but watching Violet she didn't budge, she stood bold and confident, I watch her walk inside before driving off. 


After parking the car I was able to get inside, I wore a black suit without a tie, and three buttons of my inner wear were open showing a little bit of my chest. 

I search the room for Violet, but I don't see her, I suddenly bump into someone

"Oh, I'm sorry-Stella?". Her eyes widen 

"Luther? what are you doing here?" she hits me on my shoulder

"I should be asking you that, I see you're still working for the enemy". 

She rolls her eyes "You know you aren't allowed here right?". 

I shrug "I manage to pass security so..." 

"I don't know what game you're playing but it ends here, let's go". She grabs arms 

"Wait i-"our attention was caught by the noises the crowd made, we both turn and suddenly see Violet unmask herself and the crowd goes crazy 

Stella instantly lets go of me "What is happening?" she asked terrified

I just looked at her and smile
