Chapter 46

LUTHER'S POV

"I thought you'll never get back to me". Andrew said with a smirk.

I was packed in front of his house, leaning against my car "I had that in mind, but I made a promise to you, I always keep my promises".


He scoffs " Yea right". He scratches the back of his head "So, what do you have for me?".

I toss him a black suit  "How do you feel about being a bodyguard?".

He smirks " What's the pay like?".

I smile at him "Beyond your imagination, but there's a catch".

He raises an eyebrow "What's that?".

I walk toward him putting my hand on his shoulder " You are going to high school". He pushes my hand away

"No way I'm doing that".

"You don't have a choice and it's the only way to protect you and give you a life".

He shakes his head " Nah, ain't no way I'm going to school".

"Look kid, you can't expect to live your life like this, you don't even have a place in society, people like Jesse will keep on using you".

"Like you are? Can't you just give me the stupid job?".

I shake my head "I can, but you have to go to school".

He whines "But I don't wanna".

" I guess I'll be on my way then since you're not interested, take care, look after your grandma". I turn to leave.

"Okay okay, deal. I can't believe you're making me do this".

I smile as I turn back to him "You won't regret it, kid". My phone suddenly rings, I check who it is, and I see it's Amanda "Hello?.......what!".

" is everything okay?". Andrew asks concerned.

"I have to go". I rush to the car and drive off.





_____________I barge into our bedroom, I see Violet holding a cup of coffee, she looks so shaken up and lost in thoughts.

" Hey" she gets startled 

"Luther?". I walk toward her and sit on the bed 

" Are you okay?". I ask concerned 

She forces a smile "I am okay".

"Liar". I gently touch her face and use my fingers to wipe the tear that slowly came down her cheek." I promise, nothing bad is going to happen to you".

"It's exactly like two years ago, an ID cane was sent to me, it was what they used to identify me when the accident happened, I think the person who sent it to me might be the person that caused the accident".

I clench my fist, I try to transfer my anger " I will find out who did this to you and your father, you don't have to be afraid okay?".

"Thank you Luther". Only if there was some kind of evidence or witness, it will make things easier, one step at a time.

" Tomorrow Jesse will step down and you will take over, we need to win over the board, we have only 3 months, if we're able to rank no.1 again, it will make things easier".


"I will do my best, I'm sorry I'm not qualified if only I had stayed in school".

" No, please don't say that, and I got your back you don't have to worry, you're going to be my eyes, I will do all the work okay?".

I smile sheepishly "okay". She wears a genuine smiles

"What about Lisa?".

" She's with her mum, since Lana has a job now they're living together, it's a good thing it's giving them a chance to bond more".

"That's good to hear, what about your mum?".

" She's running the pizzeria".

"Aww, isn't she lonely?".

"Don't worry about her, she's been praying for this day". Violet giggles.

" That's a relief, but would she be able to cope?".

"My mum is Asian, even if she had the help she'll still want to do all the work herself". We both laugh " There's a help wanted sign in front, we're definitely looking for a delivery guy and someone to assist her so don't worry about that okay?". She nods 

"That's good to hear". She sighs 













                        
                 JESSES POV

I get to the house, I enter the maid greets me as they walk pass me, and I aggressively enter the bedroom.

" Good to see you in a bad mood". Benita says with a sass tone pressing her phone. 

"You have no idea the kind of pressure I'm on is like when I think I have something figured out they just come in and ruin everything!". 

She rolls her eyes "That's because you're too simple-minded, Violet might be blind but she's smart and sharp, that's one thing I hate about her, is like she can read right through you, you know?".

I wear a confused expression on my face "You're despicable".

" Says the guy who is about to get ruined by his ex-wife". 

I forcefully take off my tie and roll up my sleeves "I won't let that happen, they have three months, I just need a month and I'll drop a bomb on them".

"Good luck with that".She goes back to using her phone

" You are not supportive".

She smiles still concentrating on her phone "I wouldn't say that".

I grunt "I'm going to take a shower". I throw a towel on my shoulder 

"Want me to Join you?". 

"No!".







                   LUTHER'S POV


I wear a navy suit with brown pants "Is this too, sharp?" I ask the guards who were all in the living room

Leo clears his throat "If I may sir, no one will take you seriously, why not just wear something plain for your first day".

I scratch the back of my head "Thanks, I appreciate the honesty". 

Amanda walks in with Violet, Violet had a white and black fitted dress on that hugs her knees, she had her hair tied in a pony tail, wore black heels and a silver necklace with a small teddybear pendant, she really looks like a powerful woman. 

"Luther what the hell are you wearing?" Amanda ask I with disbelief 

I nervously clean my chip "I was about changing". 

"You better hurry up, you can't be late on your first day". I quickly rush up the stairs. 

What was I even thinking, is no time to explore styles, I wear a plain black blazer, this should do. 

Alvin drives us to the office, 7:30am and the place was packed. 

The guards surrond Violet as they should, I walk right next to her, she puts on her shades her staff definitely attracted attention especially with the sound she makes with it when she's using it to guide her step. 

We finally reach the office. I open the door and I see that no good son of a-

"Look who's here already". Jesse said faking an exciting tone sitting, he sits on stop of his desk 

"I thought you got the mail you're steeping down today" 

"Oh I did, I've been demoted for now, but you know, what's the rush?,I'll be getting my office back soon anyway".  I walk to him, I playfully hit his thigh, he glares at me 

"I get how you feel right now, keeping a positive mind is good for your health you should keep doing that, just don't get disappointed okay? It's part of life". I smirk at him, he just glares 


Violet speaks out "You should leave Jesse".
