Chapter 51

"So she agreed to Partner with us?" Violet ask curiously

I open the fridge bringing out a bottle of water "Not exactly we're still on the talking phase".

"I guess you can handle things without my help".

I open the cap and drank in one gulp "Yea.. I told you I'm good at convincing people". She giggles, I throw the empty bottle away. "She's a lot like you, you know".

Violet scoffs "She's better, she knows how to carry herself".

"That's it, she knows how to hide her fears, that doesn't make her better than you sweetheart". She doesn't say anything "I'll go to bed now, Join me later?". She nods, I go to our bedroom.

I take off my suit, my phone suddenly rings, I pick it up.

"Hello?".

"Dad".

A smile slowly appears on my face "Hey kiddo, thought you weren't talking to me".

"Can I come stay with you?".

I scratch the back of my head "Why? Everything with your mum okay?".

"Yea... I don't- just please let me stay with you?"

"How about this, after your exams you can come stay with me during your holiday".

I hear her heavy breathing "Dad... I'm scared".

I suddenly felt a weight in my chest "What's going on Lisa? Where is your mum?".






VIOLET'S POV

"What's happening now?". I ask curiously, I was sited with Amanda and the guards, they are watching a soap opera and I decided to join them.

Amanda lets out a frustrating sigh "Suki is about to tell Roger she's in love with him and his girlfriend is beside him who is about to tell him she's pregnant but what they don't know is Roger has a wife and three children for two different women".

For some reason my mouth was wide open "I will just stop asking questions".


I suddenly hear someone rush down the stairs "I'll be back soon Violet don't wait up".

"What's going on?". I hear the door shut.

Amanda responds "Suki just found out she's Roger's half-sister!".

"I wasn't asking-never mind". I put my hand on my head.





LUTHER'S POV



I arrive at the house, I noticed just the bedroom light was on. I knock at the door "Lisa, is daddy". I don't hear a response "Lisa!". I bang on the door "Open up its daddy". The door suddenly burst open and she runs into my arms "There there, daddy is here now". I said trying to comfort her by gently tapping her back. "Are you okay?" she nods.

"Mum hasn't been home since, she called she had somewhere to be, I was so scared, I heard noises and the lights were all shaky and-"

"I'm sorry you had to go through that, is it the first time this is happening? Lana leaving you alone?".

She shakes her head "She does it often, I thought I was going to be fine staying all alone, I wanted to prove to myself so bad that I was capable of being by myself, but I was wrong, I'm just a baby, the kids at school are right, I'm immature".

I use my hand to clean the tears off her face "You aren't immature, calling me was a mature move, it's okay to be scared, you aren't used to staying by yourself all your life you had grandma with you. Come on, go get your things okay, you'll be staying with me for a while". She nods and goes to her room.

I quickly bring out my phone to call Lana.

"... Hello? ". She asks with an exciting tone in her voice.

I clench my fist "Seems like you're having fun huh? Tell me where are you?"

"I'm out with friends...".

I take in a deep breath to control my rage "Where is our daughter then?".

"Home, why?".

"Why? Lana, you can't leave our child all by herself"

"Don't overreact, she's capable of taking care of herself, she's a big girl, teens love being home alone, when I was her age I always prayed for my parents to leave the house ".

I scoff "You are something, I don't even know what to tell you right now, I'm so mad that I fear what I might say will make you hate me".

"Say it, don't hold back, you have no right to judge me you know, you remarried and left me with our child".

"oh really? You know what I'm going to say it, You are a terrible mother Lana, and I'm taking Lisa with me". I instantly end the call. I instantly felt regretful, maybe I shouldn't have said that.

"Dad I'm all packed". Lana said holding a suitcase, I smile and take it from her.

"Let's go then". What she did was very irresponsible, and worse she gave a very dumb excuse.

On our way to the house Lisa rest her head on the window, she's sited in the front with me.

She turns to me "Dad, do you think mum will be upset I left?"

I sigh "Well, it's for the best, she can always come to see you". She goes back to staring out the window

Amanda whispers in my ear "Babysitting wasn't part of our deal". I roll my eyes at her.

I clap my hand "Everyone, this is my daughter, Lisa, Lisa, everyone". Lisa just wore a blank stare and everyone else just gave her a weird look. "You guys will get to know each other eventually, let's just call it a night". I take Lisa's bag

"I will get that". Amanda said taking the bag from my hand "You go join your wife in bed and I'll take Lisa to a room". I look at Lisa, she gives me a go-ahead look, I watch as she and Amanda walk away.

I go to the bedroom afterwards, I see Violet in bed reading a book in the dark.

"You still awake?". I whisper to her as I get in bed.

"I was waiting for you to come home, you suddenly left, everything okay?".

I nod "Yes, it's just a family emergency, Lisa is in the house, she's going to stay with us for some time, is that okay?".

"Sure, she can stay as long as she wants".

I smile at her "Thank you, so much".I get out of bed "I better take a quick shower".

"Want me to join you?".

I laugh "I see you're learning, feel free to join, there's always room for you".

She laughs "I just remembered, I already took a shower, and I can't afford to stress my leg".

"Okay, only because you have a bobo, next time though I will carry you".
