Chapter 52

VIOLET'S POV

Amanda assists me down the stairs, I guess now I have two problems, not being able to see and walk, and now my staff is serving two purposes.

She sits me at the dining table and serves me breakfast, I suddenly smell something familiar, well someone "Good morning". She said in her pitched voice

I smile knowing who it is "How was your night Lisa?".

"Good, I slept well, Amanda has been good to me".

"That's good to hear". I carefully search for my fork, Amanda puts it in my hand. I hate when things like this happen in front of someone, it makes me feel incapable "Thank you, Amanda".

"Just doing my job". I let out a sigh as I eat my breakfast, scrambled eggs "So you have school today?"

"No, I don't it's teachers' day ".

I nod "Oh, uhm there's something called teachers day?"

"Yea, it's just a day break"

I nod "Oh I guess that makes sense". I've been homeschooled all my life I don't know anything about teachers' day.

"I'm sorry for invading your home like this".

I finish chewing the little bit in my mouth and swallow "It's fine, this is very much your home now, feel free to go around, you can go check out the garden later okay?"

"Thank you, Violet". I smile at her, I hope she doesn't see me as the evil stepmother, we all know step in anything implies evil these days.

I hear her get up " Thank you for the meal Amanda, it was delicious".

I awkwardly clear my throat "if you want I can give you a tour around the house or we can do whatever you want to do ".

" I'm fine, I'll just go stay upstairs, read a book or take a nap, thanks for the offer". I hear her walk away.

I sigh and turn to Amanda who's taking my empty plate "Do you think she doesn't like me?".

She scoffs "Think? Oh no baby, she doesn't like you".

" I don't know what to do, she doesn't want to hang out with me, she doesn't want to talk to me". I rest my head on the table

"I understand how you feel, it's not easy for her too you know, she feels if she gets close to you it might hurt her mum, I mean you did steal her man from what I got so far".

I whine " I did not".

"You have to admit it's kinda true".

I rest my back on the chair folding my arms " Whatever, make sure your phone isn't on silent, Luther can call anytime".

She responds with a mockery tone "Yes ma'am".





LUTHER'S POV


" I've been expecting you". I said in a deep tone with my hands joined together

Andrew rolls his eyes "What do you think you're up to?".

" You know I've always wanted to give it a try".

He laughs "You're one funny boss". He takes a seat

" Now that you're working for me you're going to address me formally, Mr Benjamin-Kim".

He scoffs "Sure sure".

I glare at him "I'm serious kid".

" I got it".

The door suddenly burst open "Where is she? Where the fuck is she!". Lana exclaimed.


Andrew gets up " I'll just take my leave, I'll be outside if you need me, try not to break anything". I watch him walk out the door and shut it.

I take in a deep breath "Lana, we are at work can we keep our private lives, well, private?".

She frowns " You broke into my home and took our daughter away, I can report you, do you know that?".


I laugh "Sure go ahead, maybe I'll just tell the court what an awesome mother you've been to Lisa".

" Bullshit! You call me a terrible mother? You have no right, bring Lisa home before today ends".

I shrug "I don't want to".

" Stop being so stubborn!". She cried "I made a mistake, I shouldn't have left her by herself, I own to my mistake, so please, I beg you, bring her home to me, I promise to take better care of her, please".

I wear a smirk "Prove it to me".

" Huh?".

"I can't just give you Lisa, what if the same thing happens, you have to prove you're responsible for our daughter, in the meantime, Violet and Lisa should get along, don't you agree?".


Lana clench her fist, she was about to raise her hand to hit me when Jesse walks in with Benita

" This is great, I love seeing people getting along". Jesse said with a stupid smile on his face.

"Is there any problem?". Benita asks concerned.

Lana and I share a look "No, everything is fine". I said with a forced smile

Jesse had an amused expression on his face " Really? we could hear your voices three offices away".

I shrug "Maybe you were just eavesdropping".

He slightly scoffs adjusting his tie, he draws his nose and turns to Lana "Is he bothering you?"

"No sir". She replies with her head down.

"You can tell me". He walks up to her placing his hand on her shoulder " What is wrong? Let me help you, Lana".

I raise my voice at him "She said no, get going, or you don't have anything doing?".

" You are so annoying!". Jesse snaps turning to me "You can't eat your cake and have it, and I don't plan on watching you do that".

I scoff "That doesn't even make sense and they say I'm bad".I shake my head disappointed

"You think this is some joke? I'm not going to sit down and watch you take over this company, my company, I'm going to everything to get rid of you". He aggressively walks away with Benita behind him.

Lana glares at me eventually walking out, I let out a relief sigh

Andrew slowly enters the office " I'm sorry, I saw Mr Harrison and panicked".

"It's fine, I'm not mad, remember as long as you're with me he can't do anything to you, okay?". He nods " there's no need to be scared".
