Chapter 47

VIOLET'S POV

"Are you comfortable?".  I asked concerned 

Luther was sited on the leather executive chair, I sat opposite of him

" I think you should be the one here Violet, I am just your eyes remember?". I smile

"Well, you won't be forever. Don't worry about me, I'll be right beside you". I guess when I mean it won't be forever it means as long as this marriage continues, I don't know why but deep down it makes me feel-this isn't just about me. 

I hear him sigh " So, where do we start?".

"I'm way ahead of you, Jesse has been trying to get the Boilers to partner with us, Lexi is her father's only heir, and her brother is in Rehab. The problem is men, well the board, they don't believe a woman is capable of running such a big business, so I'm very sure Jesse must have said something to her to piss her off".

 "Do you think she'll reconsider if we approach her?".

" She might, if we are smart enough to say the right thing, so far his father still runs things, but hea slowly leaving for her, ready to retire because, well, he's getting older".


"That makes sense, I'm pretty sure she's getting a lot of offers, people wanting to get the position for themselves as well".

" Exactly, even her uncle is trying to convince the board to leave things to him, so it is like she's in a fire pit".

"This Business of a thing sure isn't easy, it's really like a never-ending race".


" You'll get a hang of it, I believe in you". Suddenly we hear a knock on the door "Who is it?". 

"It's Been, Mr Harrison Secretary".

" Come in then". I hear the door open, he walks toward us and drops something on the table."What is this?". I asked confused.

He responds with a blunt tone in his voice "These are unfinished business deals Mr Harrison is, well yet to finish, also I emailed his schedules as well, now you're in charge I trust you'll handle things". 

I hear Luther mutter "Al-all of this?".I suddenly hear him leave " What a snob". Luther complained

"It's okay, he's just doing his job, we should get started on ours, so read through the business deals first".

I hear him sigh and flip through pages. " Wow, are you guys associated with this many. Well this is interesting, I feel this will win us point with the board".

I become curious "What is it?".

"It's been two years since Zara's corp left partnership with us, that's one of the reasons why we ranked No 2 in the first place".


" Zara, Zara that name sounds so familiar". My eyes suddenly widen when I remember chairwoman Zara during the engagement party, she spoke briefly to me.

"She's like the only well-respected woman in business, she has shares everywhere, she's like a big deal, I'm surprised you don't know her".

I sigh "Well if that's the case, I guess we should give it our all and make her our priority ". Also, we need to figure out why she left, was it because of what suddenly happened to my family?
