Chapter 57

JESSE'S POV


I come out of the shower, with my towel wrapped around my waist, I see Benita in her lacy black nightwear, seductively laying on the bed.

"I'm not in the mood". I said to her rather blunt, she adjusts herself and sits properly on the bed, she wears an ugly frown on her face.

" I might as well just get myself a lover at this point".

I scoff "Do whatever you want". I open my wardrobe and bring out my pyjamas

" I have news". She gets up and walks close to me she gently puts her hand on my shoulders and caresses them

"What news?". Her hot breath on my neck makes my skin tingle

" I'm pregnant". Her words echo in my ears, I suddenly feel shaky.

"You're what?". I turn to her and I see her amused expression

" I'm pregnant!". She said with a bright smile

"How did this-huh?". The smile on her face slowly disappears

"Is there a problem?".

" No-its just, the news, it came as a surprise, I'm happy". I force a smile "I'm really happy".

"Well good, I can't wait to tell everyone, your mum will be so excited". She's excited no doubt, but for some reason, it bothers me, the thought of it, it's alarming.


I go the study and wait for Stella who I had sent for

She opens the door " You called?".

"Yes, do you still remember when I told you to keep an eye on my wife?".

" Yes sir". She said avoiding eye contact with me

"Well?".

"She follows the same route, the only time she seemed suspicious was when she met up with someone at the hospital, they seemed pretty close, a man, I researched him, he's Justin Travis, he works at insurance".

I slowly nod "Alright... Keep tailing her okay, and make sure you let me know when they meet again".

"Yes sir". I walk out, and on my way back to the bedroom my eyes catch something, it was one of my men, he was flirting with a maid in the kitchen.

I wear a smirk as I approach them, and they suddenly start kissing, the sight fascinates me

I clear my throat to get their attention they immediately separate

" Look what we have here". He instantly goes on his knees and starts begging "What's that your name again?".

"Gary sir".

"Ah...I see". I see the cold sweat on his forehead " Didnt you have a wife?". He doesn't say anything instead he continues begging, the maid doesn't even look at me, she kept her head down. "How long has this been going on?".

"A couple of months, please sir, I was just lonely I haven't seen my family in years now, you don't give us any days off so-". I grab his face

" Are you blaming me?". He shakes his head, I turn to the maid "You go to your room". She immediately runs away, I turn my attention to Gary, and I smirk at him " You sure got some nerves"

"Please, forgive me". He cries.

I bring out my phone "Do you know I got each and everyone files on this phone, I can just easily access your information". I browse through my phone, I see his file containing his details with his passport photograph, I show it to him " See". He just continues begging, I go through his file and see his wife's number, I smile at him, I dial her number on my phone, and she suddenly picks up.

"Hello?".

I give him the phone "Talk to her". He uses his shaky hands to take it from me

He stutters " Hel-hello"

"Honey, is that you?".He starts crying " Are you okay?".

I start laughing "What's wrong? You said I don't give you days off, the least I can do is help you talk to your wife". He looks at me with his teary eyes "Tell her what you have done, if you are going to cheat, the least you can do is tell your wife".

"Hello?...honey what is going on, you're scaring me, why are you in tears ". I take the phone from him and end the call "You should be man enough to handle the consequence of your action". I give him a quick pat on his back before leaving him alone.





LUTHER'S POV

"What should I do Luther? I can't lose Annie, she's all I got".

I lift my head letting out a long sigh, I turn my face to Gary who just staring at his feet lost in thought "What you did was wrong".

" I know". He admitted with his eyes still on his feet

"I understand where you're coming from, I do, but it's not going to be easy".

He turns to me "You have to help me, help me talk to her".

I shake my head "No, you're the only one who can help you, come clean, talk to her, meet her up face to face".

"She would hate me, I was such a fool, I regret it, I swear I regret it!". He cried

"No need for all this, you've already committed the crime now is time for you to serve the time. Just come clean, and be ready for whatever happens".

He draws his nose "Okay then, thank you ".

I playfully hit him on his back"Come on, cheer up already... I got so scared I thought you maybe killed someone or something. This one is way worse".

He cleans his face with his hands "Shut up!".

I laugh "I know how much you treasure Annie, I'm surprised you made such a mistake".

He scoffs "I'm even more surprised". He sighs "I guess I'm only human, I make mistakes, learn from them". He throws away his burnt-out cigar "Do you have?".

" You know I don't smoke, quit that shit a long time ago, you should quit too".

"I did, but now I guess I'm back at it, anyway thanks for your time". He said with a smile

" Anytime, don't think about it too much okay? Try to get some sleep and I'll find a way for you to meet Annie I know you haven't had a day off in years".

"Thanks, man. I better be going. You better be careful, remember I told you my boss has been digging some info on you, have you told violet yet?".

" No, but don't worry, he wouldn't be able to find anything".
