Chapter 27

LUTHER'S POV

I play my music using BT speaker and I turn up the music all the way

I enter my shower having my mini-concert. As soon as I was done, I turn off the music. "Shit, I forgot to bring a towel with me" I sigh "good thing I stay alone".

I come out of the bathroom, I clean my foot on my rug, as soon as I enter the room I hear my door shut, I see Violet trying to pull her robe out of the door, I was about taking a step back when she suddenly loses her balance

Without thinking I rush towards her and we both end on the floor, luckily she was on top of me. I feel the warmth of her bosom on my bare chest, I feel my heart beating fast.
 I suddenly feel her hand on my crotch, damn what is she doing?, she tightens her grip, I take in a deep breath trying to control myself, she suddenly let's go when she figures out what she was holding

" I'm sorry".We separate from each other, she holds her robe together with her hands.

I stutter "What-what are yo-ou doing here?".

"I-i just". She gulps, and she touches the floor looking for her staff "I-i heard a noise and-".

She turns to me with her eyes looking directly at my- I quickly snap at her " Look away!".

"But I'm -".

" look away!". She gets on her feet and turns around "sorry, I'm sorry".  I look around for a towel, but I don't see it anywhere " Luther, i-".she was about to turn again 

"Don't you dare look!". I see a towel on my wardrobe door, I take it and tie it around my waist "Okay, you can turn now".

She sighs " Luther, I can't see anything, I'm blind, remember ?".

I suddenly feel like an Idiot "i-i knew that, but at the moment, it escaped me, What are you doing in here anyway?".

"I heard someone in my room, I tried running after the person but I couldn't, so I ran in here".

"Are you crazy?, why will you do that, running after someone?, you're in no position for that, I'll go have a look". I was about to walk away but she holds my towel

"I think the person is gone now, I don't want to be left alone".

I sigh ", I'm sorry, you must have been so scared".

" Yea, can you maybe sleep with me tonight?".My eyes widen

"My my, you better slow down your horses".

" I don't mean it that way!"

I laugh "I'm just messing with you, sure why not?".




______"Is the floor really comfortable for you?". She asks concerned

"It is, don't worry".

" Are you sure? the bed is big enough for the two of us, why don't you just join me?". After what went down a few minutes ago, there's no way in hell I'm taking that risk.

"It's fine young lady".

"Okay then, goodnight".

" sweet dreams.


                  THE NEXT DAY

"These are your new guards, we have Alvin, Leo and kat" The three of them bow

Violet bows a little herself "Nice meeting you all, I hope we all get along".

I clap my hand "Now, tonight is our engagement party, the security needs to be extra, so I hired some other temporary guards".

She wears a coy expression "You didn't have to go through all that trouble".

" Nonsense" I suddenly check my watch "I have somewhere to be, why don't you all get to know each other".

I leave the room. I go outside the house I see Gary in a van, he was dressed in black and had a black face mask on, it's understandable, the last thing he needs is to be spotted with me.

I quickly enter the van and he drives off.

" So, were you able to check what I asked you to?".I ask with a strict tone in my voice 

"Yes, but I don't know for sure if it's anyone on our side that came to your house last night. I'm not completely denying it though".

" So?".

He grinds "Jesse does want something, but I'm not fully aware what it is, I heard him in a phone call with the minister couple of times talking about something Violet possesses".

I rub my chin "I see, can you guess what it might be?".

"I really don't know, I guess something that holds a lot of power, for the minister to be that desperate, did Mr chad mention anything?".

" I can't recall, but thanks I'll think about it, stay safe alright?".

He smiles sheepishly "awwn he cares".

I roll my eyes at him.





                          VIOLETS POV

It was awkward to be around the new guards, they didn't say anything and I didn't have what to say, they must have all toured the house already so I didn't bother asking.

I was in the garden where our party was going to hold, I was having a cup of tea enjoying the fresh air, I'm so happy I got to come out here, if not for Amanda I'm sure I would have kept on hesitating, but something doesn't quite add up, I'm not sure anyone has stayed in the house for two years now, how is it that there was no mention of weeds in the garden?. Oh that's right, before Luther and I came to the house we hired people to clean the whole house I'm sure they must have weeded the garden as well.

"I brought pie.." I hear Amanda sing, Suddenly I hear the sound of a trigger being pulled.

"State your business here!". One of the guards exclaimed.

" it's okay, she's with me". I assured them.

"Well, that gave me quite a scare". Amanda suddenly forces a laugh ", You guys have some pie too".

I really love how Amanda has been able to loosen up, she makes it easier to open up. she hands me a plate

" Thank you". The pie smelled divine. I take a bite and indeed it was super yummy "Wow, this is great, I love it!".

" I'm glad you do, my pie has won best pie five years in a row during our church fest".

"Oh, you guys hold things like that, that must be fun".

"uh-huh". She takes a seat next to me "oh dear, I totally forgot, we have to get you to the saloon". She assists me up

" oh that's right, but who's gonna drive us?".

One of the guards clears his throat "I can ma'am". It was Leo, age 27, about the same age as me, has a calm tone, smells like typical men deodorant, I'm sure he wears a lot, special skills in martial arts, black belt to be exact, single, lives with his mother.

I smile at him "Good then".
We enter the car, Alvin sat with Leo in the front, while Kat and Amanda were with me at the back. Alvin, age 40, behaves really bossy, father of two, has a grumpy and strict voice tone, special skill weapons, known to be a method man, smells like vodka really.


Kat, age 30 used to be an underground wrestler and was really popular for taking out all the tough guys, she use to go by the name slippery serpent, has a deep lady voice, her family is back in their home town and she's their only way of surviving poverty. She smells like sunflower seeds.


Knowing this information about the guards should help me get to know them a little bit better.

" We are here".Amanda helps me out of the car.
I turn to the guards who were all following me "one of you will have to wait by the car if that's okay?".

Alvin speaks up "No problem, I will wait for you guys here".

We enter the saloon

"Wow, this place is so big". Amanda said with an exciting tone in her voice

" I can imagine, only top class people do their hair here".

Amanda leans in and whispers "Some people are staring at us". I wouldn't be surprised, and I have two bodyguards escorting me that alone will draw people's attention.

Amanda helps me with a seat " Thank you".

She whispers "We'll be watching you from behind okay?". I nod.

I hear someone flip a newspaper to get my attention, I turn to the person's direction wearing a smile " How do you do?".

I hear a slight scoff "So, you're the famous Violet Anthony Chad".

" Famous?, am I?".

"Oh please don't you dare play dumb with me, well giving your situation it shouldn't surprise me that you don't know what's happening".

" Excuse me, may I know who you are?".

"Well, that's a first". I hear her flip her newspaper again 

" Funny, you still read the papers, I heard what most people do these days is read magazines".

She sighs "I'm kinda old school, so". She snaps her tongue at me making that 'click' sound 

"Alright then". She smells like coconut butter for some reason, it's really nice though.

" Lexi Boiler," she said rather blunt

"Oh, nice to meet you". Boiler, wait a-"wait, you're- ".

" Yup, a business rival, after the passing of your dad the Boilers have been number 1 for two years in a role now".

I just smile at her"congratulations to you all". I suddenly feel someone touch my hair, it was the hairdresser, Amanda must have already given her instructions, she could have at least said hello

She fakes a nice tone "It was nice meeting you first time in person, I hope we catch up soon, oh wait, yes we will. see you at your engagement party tonight". What a brat
