Chapter 18

Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty - Mother Theresa.

Dylan rushed to her hotel door, he ended the call and placed his phone in his pocket. He didn't want her to know that he had listened to what she said. He just wanted to make her smile so he knocked on her door.
'Who is there?" she asked.
'Dylan," he answered hoping she would open the door.
'Go away!" she snapped.
'Why? I have something urgent to tell you about business, open up." He said

Alexia rolled her eyes, she quickly wiped her tears, check in the mirror and practiced a smile so it wouldn't look like she was crying. She went to open the door.
Dylan shifted one step backwards when she did. She came out and locked the door behind her.
'What is it about business you want to talk about?" she asked looking at him.
'Lets go somewhere quiet, where we can sit, you know." He suggested.
'Okay." She accepted because it was about Buiness or not.

They reached the pool side and sat in front of each other. While Dylan didn't say anything, Alexia busied herself with staring at the clear pool water. She loved staring at the water, it reminded her of her mother.
'Alexia, I.. I want to be your friend." he uttered looking at her. She paused for a second before looking at him.
'Huh?" she asked as if she didn't hear what he said.

'Let forget about the past. Karma already caught up to me. Kylie cheated on me with my best friend too and you have moved on, you're happily married. I just want to be friends with you right now for us, for our Buiness, for the company." he looked into her eyes as he spoke.

Alexia raised her head, she wanted to give him a dirty slap but he didn't. Her hand got stuck in the air. She swallowed and said nothing but looked at him.
'Right, I have moved on. However, I cannot forgive you that easily, you really hurt me. Do something that will make feel that you're worthy of being my friend and maybe, we can start from there." She said.
With this, she walked out.
A little kind of tingle formed in her belly.
She didn't know what him just trying to make peace with her could end the feeling of loneliness that cooked up in her heart.

Meanwhile, Dylan smiled.
He punched the air in victory and quickly called one of his men in Mexico.
'Yes, I need you to design the biggest beach in Mexico. I need a ship; like a cruise ship. I need you to design the place with so many lights. Something that would make a girl smile," He said into the phone.

He smiled after he ended the call.
There was a knot that tied his heart.
He was so happy. He knew he was happy.
He couldn't explain the happiness, it was like a natural kind of happiness. It was different. It was peaceful. It was serene. It was one of those best feelings in the world.

He went back to his hotel room.
He picked his laptop and searched for the best fashion designer in Mexico, when he got her Instagram handle, he quickly messaged her on Instagram.

D^ I need a beautiful dress for a lady. I don't want it to be extravagant but gorgeous and elegant. I don't mind the money. I will send pictures of the lady.

FD^ Is she your girlfriend?

D^ How is that your Buiness? Is that necessary?
Dylan had always been rude and he gets angry at unnecessary questions.

FD^ I'm so sorry. We will get the dress ready as soon as possible and the bills will be sent to you.

Dylan ended the chat with a thump up emoji. He was so excited. He knew Alexia loved simple things so he wanted everything to be as simple as possible. Also, she loved to stare at the ocean, he noticed that about her that was why he chose the beach.

'Dylan, you cannot mess this up!"
Few hours later, the fashion designer sent the bills and Dylan paid almost immediately. Then, he sent them the address they were to deliver it to with a card.

Dylan stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom. He was brushing his teeth for the night - because he was going to meet her. His blue almost constricting when he sensed that he was doing too much. Anyone who think he was about to propose to her.

'Why are you acting this way, Dylan?" he asked himself.
'No, its normal. I just want to make her happy after everything I did to her."

Almost immediately, his phone beeped. He knew it had to be his sister. He had texted his sister before asking her more about Alexia and her simplicity. His sister, Anna knew a lot more about Alexia more than he did.

A^ What are you planning do, brother?!

D^ I just want to apologize for what I did to her. She told me I should something worthy to be her friend. Tell me what to do, my favorite sister in the whole world.

Anna widened her eyes after she read his text. Her bother had never said that to her. The last time he said that was when he was in 5th grade.
A^ I don't know. I think you should find things she love and but for her. However, you and I know that Alexia loves simplicity very much. Do things that comes from your heart.

Dylan almost rolled his eyes.
D ^ nothing is coming from my heart right now. Thank you for nothing!

He almost threw his phone away.
'I guess I am just going to go with my initial plans." He muttered and went back to the bathroom. He stood and walked to the bathroom where he took his bath and finished shaving his armpit.

After all these, he wore his shirt.
He knee Alexia loved white because it showed his tattoos. She loved his tattoos because most of the words were quotes about life and Alexia loved quotes.
She was the different kind of woman.

He was about to switch off his laptop when a message popped on it. He looked at the screen and saw that it was from the hacker. He quickly took his sit and tapped on it.

H^ found him!
Details:
Name: Martins Shey
Occupation: Trunk Driver/Factory Worker.
Family:
Mother - Alive
Father - Dead
Sister - Alive (1), Age (18), School (Hilton College)
Brother - None
Current Location: Mexico (just arrived)

Dylan widened his eyes. It seemed that the man was in Mexico because of Alexia.
'Is he still messaging her?"

'Alexia cannot find out about him yet, she would break!" he snapped.

D^ Thanks!
He sent it to the hackers account and was instantly answered with a thump up emoji.

Dylan was rushing, he didn't pick his phone which he had thrown behind the bed.
He picked keys and laptop.
If Martins Shey just arrived, it means he would be looking for a taxi and might be delayed in the airport especially because it is late.

He drove speedily to the airport.
He had seen the picture of the man so he had no problem identifying him. He began to look at every person disembarking. He didn't stop, he looked at everyone and even showed each of them the picture of Martin Shey in the airport but none of them seemed to he able to identify him.

Dylan was so angry. He vowed that if he finds the man he would punch him until all of teeth falls out. He did his searching for another two hours until he got tired and sat on one of the chairs in the airport. He brought out some coins to get himself something to drink but was instantly held by someone. He turned his head and looked at the person. It turned out to be....

Alexia received a dress from delivery. It was a very pretty dress; it was simple but elegant and beautiful just the way she loved to dress.
A smile popped on her face. She loved that he still knew how much she loved simplicity.
'Alexia, you cannot smile!" she cautioned herself.

She rushed to the bathroom and took her bath.
After she was done, she used some deodorant and perfume. She put on the clothes. It fitted her so well. Alexia wondered how they had known her fittings. The designer must really be the best.

She sat in front of the vanity and put on some make up. She smiled after she was done, she was very pretty although the make up was very simple.
She put on her shoes and carried her bag.
She took her car key and phone then set out, shutting the door behind her.

Few Minutes later, she was at the location.
Dylan had sent it to her earlier. She loved that he chose a place she loved very much at the time she loved very much - night.
She reached the place, everywhere was dark.
There were no light and space with so much food like she had expected. Perhaps she was thinking highly of herself.

She walked further to the ocean side thinking she would see him but sh saw no one. A sad smile escaped her lips, she walked closer to the moving water. She wasn't scared at all, she loved the sight.
'Are you disappointed?" she asked herself.
'He must probably be in his hotel room laughing at me right now. He played me again and as gullible as I am, I fell for it." A sad laugh aroused.

'He is not coming but I will wait, to... To prove myself wrong." She muttered with a little hope.
She stood there watching the waves as it moved back and forth, she didn't move an inch. She even set a timer;
Second turned to seconds
Minute turned to Minutes
Hour turned to hours
But they never produced Dylan.
Tears gently streamed down her cheeks.
Goosebumps filled her skin but it didn't matter.
She would never forget this day.
The day she fell for his words again.
Her heart sank deeper and deeper.
One word from him could fill her loneliness yet, He was the one who caused her pain the most. He was the one who dug the hole of her loneliness deeper.
