Chapter 44
Driving became harder, tears sprawled out of her eyes and her hands shook terribly. Her cheeks were still burning from the terrible slaps her father gave her.
Still sobbing, she heard a knock on her car window. She wiped her face quickly and turned to the left to see who knocked on her car window, she was shocked to see Dylan standing behind the closed window.
'What do you want?!" She yelled immediately she rolled down the window.
'Alexia, listen to me.."
'Henry and Clarissa are planning something bad against me? Is that what you want to say? And you think I will believe you?" Alexia raised her brows finding him ridiculous.
'If you are looking for a way to fuck me again then you must be passing through the wrong route!" She added then pressed another button which slid the window shut.
With this, she drove away.
Dylan watched as her car sped off, anger obvious on his face.
'I am just trying to protect you, why won't you listen to me?!" he yelled.
'Perhaps cause you broke her heart twice after fvcking her twice and give you a chance TWICE!" His subconscious yelled at him.
Dylan grunted one more time before entering his car and driving off wandering the reason she had gone to her father's house so late in the night. Yes, he had been following her.
Two Days:
Clarissa finally tried her wedding dress on, it was so beautiful, it fitted her so well. Alexia helped her with the fitting as well. She looked genuinely happy for her best friend.
'I am so happy for you," Alexia commented.
Clarissa smiled heartedly, grinning from ear to ear.
'I can't wait to meet your husband, Clarissa." Alexia's excitement was so obvious in her voice.
Clarissa nodded her head, looking at herself in the mirror, she replied;
'You will be shocked when you see my husband."
'He is so handsome?"
'Ha ha, definitely." Clarissa mocked but Alexia didn't notice.
'He can't be more handsome compared to my handsome tho." Alexia nested.
'Don't be so sure. He might even be your husband." Clarissa laughed to make it sound like a joke.
Alexia laughed in response.
'By the way, Henry won't be able to attend the wedding because of business. He promised to send some money and other gifts to compliment his absence."
Clarissa nodded her head still looking at herself in the mirror.
CLARISSA'S WEDDING DAY:
It was a Saturday, Dylan went out with one of his friends, Peter. Peter looked very handsome in his jean trousers and black shirt. He packed his car besides that of Dylan and the duo strode to the basketball court.
Dylan was dressed for the sport, he had always loved basketball. Peter was the first to bounce the ball, Dylan jogged behind him wanting to take the ball but Peter was quick to jump and throw the ball at the basket.
'Shoot!" Peter jubilated.
Dylan smiled and quickly got a hold of the ball while his friend celebrated. Dylan began to bounce the ball as well while Peter tried to stop him. To distract him, Peter began to talk.
'My wife is attending a wedding today." He started.
'Not my Business!" Dylan breathe out and toss the ball at the basket and it entered.
'Yeah!" Dylan shouted and smiled. He took the ball again, and with all strength and motivation, he scored again.
Peter laughed but he didn't want to lose so he continued his story.
'My wife is only attending the marriage because of the drama that is going to unfold."
'What drama?" Dylan seemed to be interested now. Then he aimed at the basket and scored again.
Peter continued his story still.
'The bride is getting married to the husband of the best lady who is also the best friend of the bride. Funny right?" Peter chuckled.
Dylan chuckled as well then threw the ball into the basket. Smiling, he took the ball again and bounced it. Peter frowned seeing that Dylan was winning already, he rolled his eyes and ran to the sitting area. He took his phone and busied himself with it while Dylan chuckled at his cowardly friend.
Dylan jogged to him, he took the water from the table and quenched his thirst. He dropped the bottle and then sat down beside his friend.
'My wife just sent me the pictures." Peter chuckled and then gave the phone to Dylan who seemed uninterested until he caught the eyes of those familiar faces.
'How can she do this to her best friend." Peter sounded annoyed.
Dylan's mouth was frozen, he couldn't even talk.
He recognized the woman to be Clarissa while the man was Henry.
'Those two fowls, my wife told me the best friend in question has been the one planning for the wedding not knowing that her husband is the one getting married to her best friend." Peter sounded compassionate.
'Shit!" Dylan groaned then sat up quickly, before Peter could question him, he had gone, running out of the basketball court.
However:
Alexia looked genuinely happy in the make-up room where Clarissa was being dressed up. She looked very beautiful in her wedding dress.
Everyone was attending, Alexia had invited top people in the country to attend the wedding of her best friend. She hired the best chefs and servers too. She looked very happy for her best friend.
Clarissa's makeup was done so she went into the closet to try on her wedding gown with the help of two young girls. Alexia was so excited, that she sat on the bed waiting for her best friend to come out.
When Clarissa did, she was unrecognizable. Her wedding dress was a strapless white linen gown. It held her right by the waist then floral from the waist to the floor. It had flower embroidery at the floor-length then a coset which snatched her waist and made her b!obs look firm.
Her blonde hair was curled to the side of her face, while the remained were packed up and adorned with beads and clips. She was an epitome of beauty.
Alexia squealed and stood up, clapping her hands. She quickly went to hug her friend who hugged her back. Soon, a knock came on the door, the door opened and a man walked in.
It was Ricardo, Clarissa's father.
He wore a blue tuxedo, he looked genuinely happy for his daughter.
With a smile on his face, he said;
'Let's go." He extended his arm to his daughter and she collected it.
