Chapter 28

Anna helped Alexia with her bags when the car arrived. Dylan was the driver, he watched Alexia from the rearview camera, she looked weak and her skin hasn't cleared out yet. Dylan held the wheel tight wishing he could find Austin once again and punch him until he dies.
'He has been sentenced, he has been sentenced." He muttered to himself to keep him from lashing out.

Alexia and Anna entered the car, Anna touched her brother's shoulder while Alexia looked away. Her thought was occupied by her father, Alexia wondered why he didn't come to visit her.
‘Is he sick? Didn't he hear the news? Is he okay? Did Kylie prevent him from coming to see me?" she wondered.

She draped her hands around her arm, looking out the window, tears almost sprawling off her eyes but she didn't cry.
‘If mom was alive, she would have been here. She would be the one taking me home and caring for me. Why do I have to be so unlucky when it comes to family." she thought.

Dylan couldn't keep his eyes off her, he wondered what she was thinking about and how she was feeling. He wanted to be by her side to comfort her but he couldn't. He wished he could help her smile again but she would never allow him to. Dylan kept staring at her until they reached the mansion, he halted the car and parked.
Anna helped Alexia out of the car again. Dylan was left to deal with the bags, he groaned when Anna stuck out her tongue to him.

In The Living Room:

Mr. and Mrs. Young sat on the sofa waiting for Alexia and Anna to appear. Once the door unlocked and they saw Alexia's pretty face, a huge smile appeared on their faces and they stood up waiting for her to come closer. When she was close enough, Mrs. Young pulled her into a hug. Ever since Dylan introduced her to Mrs young, she had liked her especially because she was a good child coupled with the knowledge that she was her best friend's daughter.

Mr young on the other hand also loved Alexia, she was too pretty and modest. She took her job seriously and she's independent of no one.
'How are you now?" Mrs young asked.

Alexia smiled and nodded her head indicating that she was okay now. Even though somewhere in her heart, she felt more pain than the physical one they saw. Her skin was already healing, it doesn't hurt as much as before; that's evidence that physical pain can heal but the one in her heart, the void. The chasm. The emptiness. The loneliness... That one can not be healed.

After managing to have lunch with the Youngs family, she went back to her room where she lay on the bed. The loneliness toyed with her soul, tears gently scrolled down her face, she felt so lonely inside her soul. Every desire burning her soul and quenching her fire, she just wanted to have her own family and someone to always rely on to care for her. She wanted it so bad.

Just then, her phone beeped. She picked it up immediately and opened the message.
^Come over, I want to show you something.
Alexia didn't anyone to tell her that it was Dylan who had texted her, she sighed and then decided to go meet him.

Reaching the living room, it was empty. She decided to go outside and he was there, standing by his car. A smile was on his face but she frowned even though deep down she wanted to run toward him and wrap her hands around him, she wanted to play with his cheeks and stare into his eyes all night.

She wished to wrap his chocolate hair between her fingers, twirl, and pull it while he flinched because it was painful. She walked towards him looking him straight in the eyes, not wanting to break or be emotional around him.
'What do you want?" she asked looking at him. She stood in front of him.

'Alexia, I am sorry for what I did before," he began.

Alexia almost widened her eyes.
Did he just say he is sorry? She wondered.
Dylan was a cocky-headed man, he would never say ‘sorry' no matter what. However, here is he saying it as though it was nothing. It was something for Dylan!

'You saved me, I owe you. I could have died but you came for me so I'm not angry. Moreover, you were just warning me about him. I can not believe he would do that to me. How can men be so cruel?" She looked away from him

Dylan scratched the back of his head he had done his part in hurting her as a man. He cleared his throat so that she would look at him and she did.
'Can I take you to that date I promised you?" he asked looking at her.

Looking at him, she thought about it for a while. She decided that it was better than staying in her room all day thinking about how messed up and lonely her life was. She nodded her head and one could see the excitement on Dylan's face.

Alexia had never seen him that excited in years. His excitement brought some hopeful feeling, she didn't like it. She hated that a chance in his emotion, expression, and conversation with her brought changes to the way she felt.
She entered the car after he opened the door, he entered as well and the car started to move.

Alexia looked out the window as the car moved down the street, she loved the way the air blew the trees which were planted at the sides of the road, she wanted to feel the joy of being blown away. She wanted to spread her arms and welcome the air into her body and her soul, perhaps it would fill her loneliness.

'Can you slide off the roof of the car?" She looked at him. Dylan nodded his head and did as she had told him, the car was a convertible one whose roof can be folded and unfolded.
Once the roof has been unfolded, Alexia smiled and gently stood. The natural air engulfed her and she closed her eyes; her hair swaying from the impact of the air. She smiles to herself and spreads her hands as she had wished.
Dylan saw that she was happy so he increased the speed so the air would increase and it did. Alexia began to laugh, her eyes closes, she couldn't help it.

She began to sway her hands, laughing out loud and enjoying the moment. The air did something to her, it made her forget for a moment. It made her realize that she wasn't really alone. Perhaps it's cause she hadn't taken time to look at her environment, the natural environment that the creator had created. The air whispered words to her, it told her something. If filled her loneliness as she had wished and for what moment, she didn't feel lonely.

The car halted at a beach, Alexia looked around the empty beach. She watched as the blue water washed to the shore and washed back. It was a pretty sight.
'C'mon," Dylan called once he came out of the car.

Alexia nodded her head and came out as well. She draped her hand over her shoulder, walking closer to the shore while Dylan walked beside her.
'Do you know that Austin has been sentenced?" asked Dylan.

Alexia nodded her head. Anna had shown her the clip of the court they had sentenced him to. She felt so much hatred for that man, he almost ruined her life. It was just nice that they sentenced him to life imprisonment. At least he wouldn't be a threat to other girls.

They both walked to the shore, Alexia kept her eyes on the ocean; the water flowed to her legs and flowed back. She loved the way the air howled and swayed her hair around her face.
Dylan stood beside her, he watched her. He wondered why she loved to stare at the ocean, he wondered why she mostly feels at peace anytime she does that.

'Dylan, you are a dead meat!" A voice yelled from afar. Dylan and Alexia both looked at the owner of the voice, it was a lady with a thick body and brown skin. She looked very beautiful as well.
She looked at Dylan with wicked eyes.

'Dylan, you dare to ask me out and reject my calls after?!" The lady looked Mexican but she spoke English fluently.

Dylan shook his head, he was not angry. How dare the lady to ruin Alexia's perfect moment?!
Before Dylan could react, Alexia had turned around and walked away. He wanted to chase after her but he was quickly held by the woman in front of him.

'Where do you think you are going?!" She yelled.

'Take your hands off me." His voice was low but domineering. The lady tried to act tough so she didn't leave him which annoyed Dylan so much.

'Take your filthy hands off me!" he growled
The lady shifted backward quickly, she didn't think he would switch so fast. She had watched him since, the way he stared at the girl was so calm, she'd thought she would get a chance to extort money from him until now.
Dylan didn't look at her once, he ran after Alexia.

Alexia had entered a car that lined up as cabs near the beach. Anna had sent her the address of the house which she showed the driver. She looked out the window, her thoughts going back to calling her a fool for going out with Dylan again.

She was giving him a chance again. She didn't go to admit it but she was hoping for a change, any kind of change she was hoping for it.
Alexia thought that she wouldn't be in this mess if her husband would just come back home and take his place as her husband. She wouldn't feel lost like this. She wouldn't feel so lonely, wanting to spend time when the same man who broke her heart and her hymen.

She inhaled a breath and closed her heart seeing that she was about to break down. Everything was too much to take in. First, it was her father getting married to Kylie. It was like everyone just turned their back on her, leaving her alone to fight against this cold, lonely, and tiring world. If her mother hadn't died, she would do anything to face the world with her.

'How do you feel, Hope?" asked the driver.

Alexia was shocked, she didn't tell the driver her first name not to talk about her middle name. She took in the voice, it registered in her and it clicked.

She raised her head abruptly and the driver removed his heart.
'You?!" her heart ached seeing it.
It was really him.
