Chapter 68
We weren't allowed to see Brendax, the policeman on duty said he was one of the grade one criminals and he wouldn't be allowed to see anyone.
'Did you make your research well before concluding that he killed that woman?!" I half yelled looking at the man in front of me.
We are seated in the office of the inspector general right now. He sighed and then presented some files in front of me.
I took it, annoyed. I looked at it and it turned out to be some pictures. Pictures of Helen, Brendax's fake girlfriend; the one Kylie planted with him to deceive me
I raised my head to the inspector.
'Is this the picture of the dead girl you found in his house?" I asked and he nodded.
'Yes, she was reported missing by her friends two days ago." He answered.
I checked the other files and they contained an order for a large container of hydrofluoric acid. It had Brendax's name written on it, his contact ID, and his bank details.
'What is this?" I asked.
'That company called us yesterday saying someone ordered a large container of hydrofluoric acid. They added that the man didn't state the reason he was ordering something as dangerous as that. We did our research and traced it to Brendax's house.
When we got there and searched his house, we found the lady in his house. We were able to recognize her by her hair and the clothes she wore the last day she left her house. We can only conclude that he ordered the hydrofluoric acid to get rid of her corpse."
'What evidence do you have to back your accusation up?" I asked quickly, already pissed. Perhaps scared.
'We checked the CCTV on the street, we saw that Brendax took her into his house two days ago but there was no footage of her leaving. It meant he took her inside but she never came out."
Two days ago? That was the day Brendax confessed to me. How did he end up bringing Helen into his house that same day? I thought their closeness was just because of the plan to deceive me.
The inspector went ahead to show us the footage, Which showed Brendax taking Helen into his house. The rest of the footage was forwarded and until the end, Helen never came out.
Tears gathered in my eyes. They had evidence to back up all they said. Rayden was already shaking by my side, I could feel her fear radiating off her.
'Can we please speak to Brendax? We need to ask him some questions. He will tell us the reason he took Helen into his house and why she never came out. You need to allow us, please." I pleaded and looked into his almost wrinkled eyes. He sighed, giving into me.
He took the telephone and called one of his men. A man in black tee and Jeans came in, he saluted the Inspector before receiving his order to take us to see Brendax.
Rayden was so happy. I didn't realize my friend was so in love with Brendax. She had been crying since she came to my office, the last time I saw Rayden this way was when her mother died.
Soon, we sat in front of Brendax. He looked so pale, his eyes were sullen and red which means he had been crying. I felt my heart break just by looking at him. I stretched my hand to him and he held it, I saw how much he was holding back; he didn't want to break in front of me and Rayden.
'I didn't kill her, I swear I didn't kill her, Alexia." He uttered, breaking down.
I nodded my head, I knew Brendax would never do that. He could never kill someone.
'Why did Helen come to your place? How come she never left?" Rayden asked, sniffing.
Brendax looked at her.
'Helen and I were friends even before Kylie came up with her plan. She came to my house after I told her that I confessed to you, she came to comfort me. It was too late for her to go home that day so she slept in the guest room. The next morning, I went out early to see Rayden to explain everything to her so I didn't check up on Helen in the guest room. By the time I returned, I guessed she would have left, and when I wanted to confirm, Alexia came knocking on my door." Brendax lower lips shook as he explained. He looked so scared and his hands were shaking.
However, his hands were shaking too much. I felt that it was weird, why were his hands shuddering so much? And his lips, they quivered a lot. I tossed the thought off, caring less about his body movement.
'Brendax, I am scared," Rayden uttered, tears sprawled all over her face. I looked at the duo, they both looked scared and it made me sad.
I hated seeing my friends like this, especially the ones I care so much about. I knew I had to do something. I turned around, walking out of the police custody.
I suspected only one person and that person could only be Kylie. After I told her Brendax confessed to me, she looked so sad, so annoyed, so vengeful. I should have known she would never back down without a fight.
I drove to my father's house even after I promised myself never to return there. Having gotten down from my car, I walked swiftly to the house. Again, I saw Cole sleeping with Kylie in my dad's sitting room. Cole was Kylie's boyfriend when we were still friends before she snatched Dylan from me. They broke up after two months of dating and I didn't think they would come back together like this. This was the second time I caught them fucking in the living room.
This time, he was thrusting into her from behind, his hands were on her waist plummeting into her hole she groaned almost ripping the chair.
'You turned my dad's house into your little fuck house?!" I looked at both of them disgustingly.
Cole didn't shy away this time. He simply wore his trousers trying to get his dick to go flaccid.
Cole Auburn's hair was scattered on his handsome face, I curse his handsome face even though I know he wasn't the one to be blamed. Although he knew Kylie was married and they had broken up long ago, he still shamelessly came to her matrimonial house to fuck her.
'Cole, you should be ashamed of yourself!" I shouted at him, drawing my eyes away from him, and looked at Kylie who was still naked.
'What do you want again?" she looked pissed.
'You wench, what did you do to Brendax? Why did you do it?!" I shouted looking at her.
Her facial expression was flat, she stood up and took her gown which rested on the arm of the couch. She put it on before looking at me.
'You think I will waste my energy on Brendax? I have so many things to do, so many plans for you, Brendax is the absolute last thing on my mind." She looked unfazed, less bothered and I want to yank her hair from her head so bad.
How could someone be so evil?!
I was disgusted.
'Perhaps I am not the only one Brendax had offended. I didn't do it. If I did, I would have told you so, you are so stupid, there is no need to hide from you." Having said this, she walked away and Cole followed her.
Gosh, I had the urge to drag him back and pounce on his face. Freaking idiots!
Wait, is Kylie saying the truth?
I wondered.
