Chapter 54

Alexia didn't expect Dylan to walk in through the door after she left. She hadn't taken up to three steps when Dylan dragged her back, drawing her closer to meet his front. Alexia wanted to fight off his grip but he was too strong on her. He took her hand and placed it on his heart.

'Do you love him?" Dylan raised a phone to her face, it was a picture of her and Alexander.

Alexia looked at the picture, angry that he had stalked them, she tried to escape from him but he strengthened his grip.

'Do you love him?!" He shouted.

'It is really not your business, Dylan. You are not my boyfriend so why are you concerned about my love life?! Let go of me, Dylan!" Alexia shouted back at him.

Dylan's eyes dilated from her voice. His grip gently softened around her body and he let her go. It was true. He was nothing but an ex-boyfriend that broke her heart. Clarissa and Peter were right.

'Alexia, I'm really sorry. I..." he paused, took in a sharp breath, and walked away.

Alexia didn't look at him at her until he was out of sight.
'How can I believe your apology? How can I believe that you are really sorry? What if you hurt me again? You have hurt me twice, Dylan." She uttered, tears filling her eyes.

Who said a relationship was that easy?
Who said trusting someone you love was that easy. Is it the constant fear that comes with it? Or the heartbreak of seeing them choose someone else above you? Love is not easy. It can never be.

Alexia had blocked the space in the wall that allows her to see Dylan. She realized that she was only going to break her heart more, if she really wants to forget about Dylan, she has to let everything go.

Thinking about this, the food flung open. It was Alexander that walked in. He looked very handsome in his suit wear, his face was clean and his dark blue eyes were sparkling.

In his hands were flowers, they seemed to be Alexia's favorite, Roses. She smiled and took them from him once he reached her front and stretched it to her.

'You are such a gentleman." She muttered.

'Of course, I pick flowers for my mom every weekend," he uttered, proud of himself as he should be. Mothers are Queens and they deserve all the love in this world.

Smiling, Alexia remembered the first time Dylan gave her flowers. The words he said are entirely different from that of Alexander.

'I don't pick flowers for anyone but the moment I saw this Rose in the flower shop, it reminded me of you. Your vibrancy, your scent, and the way you beautify my life. So I made an exception."

Tears almost gathered in her eyes but she quickly toss them off, blinking her eyes repeatedly. Her heart pounded fast against her chest, how come everything reminds her of Dylan? Will she ever be able to get over Dylan? She thought looking at the flowers, lost in their color until Alexander tapped her.

'Alexia, I'm thinking we can go to the movies later or anywhere you think you'll be free with me. I really want to take my chances."

'Me too." Alexia smiled at him and he nodded.

'I will pick you up at 5 pm, you would have closed by that time?" he raised his eyes.

Alexia nodded her head and then waved at him even though Alexander made a move to hug her. She wasn't ready for the physical contact her. No, she was just scared that she won't feel the same tingles as she felt whenever Dylan touches her.

No, he had touched her before, at the restaurant when she puked but she didn't feel anything. She didn't feel what she wanted and she wasn't ready to admit it to herself. She wasn't ready to admit that Alexander wasn't the man. He is nice, he would make her happy. He would never hurt her. He would never cheat on her.

This man takes flowers to his mom every weekend which means he is consistent, not because of what he wants but because that's who he is. He is just the right man, the right man for her. The one who would fill the loneliness in her heart.

Looking at the flower, she brought out a vase in her drawers and placed the flower in it. They sat at her table looking very beautiful. She was going to be happy with Alexander. Alexander was the man.
She kept reminding herself, scared she would forget and think about Dylan again. She didn't want him at all. He is cruel, he would hurt her again.

Dylan stood in the foyer, he saw Alexander walk out. He was angry at the man. He had seen him walk in with Roses, Alexia's favorite flowers, he hated him for knowing that.

He saw him at the restaurant too, he had followed Alexia over there before going to Clarissa hoping that Clarissa would call her back home for him but Clarissa didn't. Clarissa advised him to leave her alone and give her some space.

He saw that she wasn't able to eat her pickled burger. How can she order something she doesn't like? He didn't know then and he was always frustrated so he helped her remove the onions. She ordered it every time, just so he would touch her food, he didn't know. He didn't know she only wanted him to help her remove them, not because she liked them but because she loves him.

He was busy chasing Kylie then, wanting to finally sleep with her but he couldn't let Alexia go too even though he had slept with her countless times. Something about her and the sex excites him every day but he didn't pay attention to it. He thought he just stayed longer with Alexia because she was too clingy. Because she wouldn't let him go and he was busy with Kylie, wanting to sleep with her; that feeling turned to lust and he called it love.

Looking at Alexander, he felt like punching his face but the man was not really at fault, why should he suffer? Moreover, he has bodyguards draped around him, it would be unwise to punch him.

Turning around, he walked back in. He didn't notice her early until she wrapped her hands around his waist. He turned around.
