Chapter 46

Alexia cleared her throat then she looked at Henry.
'Don't be stupid, Henry. Do you think I am going to give all of my parents properties to a homeless nigga like you? I picked you up the street and made you my husband but you betrayed my trust even after trusting you and giving you benefit of doubt." Alexia held in her tears, not wanting to break down.

She took in a sharp breathe then continued her story.
'After introducing you to Alexia after our wedding, she told me that I made a mistake getting married to you. I asked the reason and she went ahead to tell me how ruthless you were in high school since you too went to high school together. She told me that your job now is to dupe rich woman of their money. I didn't believe her and she suggested that we should play a game."

'The secret admirer!" Clarissa chipped in.

Henry looked at her quickly, a killer look on his face.

'Yes, remember Clarissa brought up the idea and you stupidly agreed. I... I actually thought that you would come to me and tell me about it but you never did. You went through with the first step of the plan, that is; to leave me so that I would feel lonely. Then the second step; send a secret admirer my way that will fill your absence and my loneliness. Then the third step; get an indecent picture to frame me and make me transfer all of my mother's hard earned wealth to you. Ha ha, you must find me so stupid and gullible." A tears gently dropped from Alexia's face.

'You must be surprised that instead of the secret admirer you hired, it was I and Dylan's picture you saw. Yes, because Dylan found out about it and he thought of protecting me not knowing I am the mastermind of the game. Everything you did with Clarissa she told me. Everytime you had sex, she Informed me." Alexia looked at Henry as he broke, his face changed to a distorted one. He was regretting everything.

'You wench!" Henry yelled, looking at Clarissa who stuck her lips to him.

'Just because we dated in high school doesn't mean I am still in love with you. You gave good sex anyways. We arranged this marriage to disgrace you in front of everyone. Also, the police men are waiting for you at the door step." Clarissa pointed at the door. Almost immediately, two police men came in and walked towards Henry.

He quickly fell to his knees, begging Alexia but she looked away from him.
'Please... I love you... Alexia!!" he cried.

'And the documents are fake, the lawyer knew about it even the plan started!" Clarissa yelled as Henry was dragged away.

By the time Clarissa looked at Alexia, tears was already brimming in her eyes and she looked at Clarissa with so much love in her eyes.

'What if you didn't love me genuinely? He could have gotten away with it truly with your help. Thank you for being a honest friend, someone I can trust in." Alexia uttered which made tears gather in Clarissa's eyes as well.

'Perhaps I should start counting the good things you have done for me as well so you would see how good of a person you are and how much you deserve to have good people around you. You helped me from the life I was living before and gave me a better job to sustain myself. You never for once opened your mouth and called me a slut even though you knew my background. You have always been more than a family to me, the family I never had." Clarissa cried and wrapped her hands tightly around her best friend.

Everyone stood to their feet, they began to clap their hands with tears sprawling out of her eyes. They were so touched. The love Clarissa and Alexia had for each other was that rare type of love.

Dylan smiled, he clapped his hands as well. After all, Alexia wasn't that stupid.

Three Days Later:

Alexia and Clarissa could be seen at the spa joking with one another. Henry had been sentenced which gave the duo rest of mind. A man like that shouldn't love amongst people.

'Dylan really cares about you, Alexia." Clarissa looked at Alexia.

'Sincerely, I purposely talked about the plans at the restaurant that day because I wanted to see what he would do with the information and I was right, he planned to help you." Clarissa added.

Alexia drank from her orange juice, she sipped a little then placed it back on the tea table beside her. She thought about it as well but when the image of Kylie kissing him and his hands wrapped around her waist came to her mind, she tossed the lingering feeling away.

'Clarissa, let's talk about you. Ever since you stopped your dirty work and started the work of your dreams, I haven't seen you with any man. Isn't right if you try to start dating properly?" Alexia asked and looked at her friend. Alexia cares about her friend so much especially now that Clarissa has proven to be the best person in her life, she would never joke with her.

Clarissa chuckled.
'I don't think relationships are for me. I spent all of my life feeling pain especially from men. My dad threw me out of the house when I was fifteen after his wife's uncle forcefully took my virginty. My biological dad called me a prostitue because his brother in law claimed that I seduced him. With blood oozing out of my leg, I found myself in the street; sleeping with several men to survive. I grew up with so much hatred for men, I don't think I can ever trust to end up with one..."
‘WITHOUT KILLING HIM WITH MY OWN HANDS'

Clarissa wanted to say the words out to her best friend but she couldn't, see didn't want to scare Alexia. Sadly, Alexia had more problems to worry about.
