Chapter 52
President's Private Hall:
Alexia rushed to the kitchen where she saw Rayden dishing out the delicious food and placing them on a tray while her assistants helped her carry them to the hall. The party was a buffet, where anyone can serve themselves and have as many foods as they want.
When Rayden saw Alexia, she was so excited, that she clapped her hands and wrap them around her best friend. Alexia was looking stunning in her red dinner gown paired with a silver purse which marched her beautiful sparkling shoes.
'Your dress is so pretty!" Alexia complimented.
'Praises go to the designer!" Clarissa walked in looking fabulous as well. Alexia smiled and laughed at Clarissa quickly, she loved that the three of them are bonding well. Looking at her two best friends, Alexia felt so happy; she felt like the loneliness in her would gently melt with their presence.
And Brendax? he had been a great addition.
Soon, the party started, and Alexander had addressed his friends and family. Also, everyone has presented their gifts to him smiling and flaunting their wealth.
Everyone at the party is so influential so it was just right to see presents worth millions being gifted to Alexander. Meanwhile, Alexander was looking for one woman and he soon found her talking to Brendax who was taking his food from the different colors of foods on the enormous table.
'Mind if I take her away?" Alexander chipped in.
Brendax bowed his hand and moved on. Alexia smiled and greeted Alex once again.
'I haven't seen your +1," Alexander started.
Alexia smiled.
'I didn't know I was supposed to come with someone."
'Yeah, you aren't. I guess you didn't fall for my technique, I'm just going to go straight to the point. I want to know if you're in a relationship. You see the very first time I set my eyes on you, I couldn't take it off. I love everything about you especially because you are ambitious. I wanna try my luck!" he took his words gently and cautiously as if, if he made a mistake he would be beaten.
Alexia smiled at the gentleness in his voice, it made her heart soften. She loved that he was cautious with her and the way he spoke so gently made her heart flutter.
'A date, tomorrow?" Alexia suggested giving love a new try. A chance at a relationship. A chance at happiness and a chance to trust someone with her heart.
Meanwhile:
Brendax tasted the food he had taken and he couldn't get the taste out of his mouth. The food was so delicious he wanted to give the cook credit for cooking such a delicious meal. The president had been talked to him earlier saying that everyone loved the food and the lady in charge should be credited.
The president was a nice man, once you do things right in his presence, he recommends and rewards you quickly. Walking to the designated kitchen, he saw some of the assistants lined up, preparing to serve more food at the table.
One of the ladies who was going out with some wines in the tray she held, stopped her and asked about the chef who had cooked all the meals. The lady smiled and pointed to another young lady who was dressed in her uniform. Her brown hair was tied in the net on her head.
Brendax thanked the lady and went in. He walked to the lady quickly hoping to have a brief discussion with her and walk out only for him to see her face, he could never forget that face no matter what.
A faint smile erupt on his face, he couldn't help but stare at her, amazed that she was the lady chef who cooked every one of the meals. He didn't know that she would be this talented. He didn't even think about that given that he saw her at the bar, he thought she was a jobless lady who seeks money from men.
'My guess is you didn't see my id card, I even wrote a thank you message so you would notice it." By this time, Rayden was done for the day. The party was almost done and her assistants can take care of the rest without her help.
She was now dressed in a black thigh-length down, flats because she couldn't wear heels after such an exhausting event. Her hair was wrapped lazily in a bun. However, although she looked messy, Brenden couldn't help but appreciate it. It seemed like the first time he was seeing a woman less made up, exhausted from work and not sex. It amazed him and he loved it.
'I saw the message but I am quite sure I didn't notice you wrote it on an identity card but, it's not too late. We can get another room, fuck each other, and then you can write another thank you message. This time, I will be sure to notice the identity card then we can start on a pretty decent note.
Rayden chuckled.
'Deal!" she stretched her hand to him and he took it.
IN Elite Bar:
Dylan drank the last liquor in the glass cup, he settled it back to the table and took the tequila bottle, and poured himself another round.
'How can she not believe that I love her. I feel like she is pushing me away on purpose." Dylan hissed.
Peter who sat beside him raised on funny eyebrow.
'You say you love her, how?"
Dylan looked at his friend.
'How do you tell your wife you love her?" He rolled his eyes.
'I pretty much don't say it through words!" Peter emptied his cup of whiskey too then he began to pour himself another.
'Uhm, what am I suppose to say to make it known to her that I love her?" Dylan raised a brow, looking at him.
'Don't tell her, show her!" Peter shouted.
'Show her...?"
'You think she is going to believe you love her and you have changed just because you said the words? She has to feel it, feel that you love her. See it, see that you love her. By doing things out of your comfort zone to show her. Sacrifices. Anything that is so difficult but for her comfort you are doing it. Trust me, Alexia is a good woman, if you don't fight for her now, another man would see her value and take her away from you." Peter finalized and then checked his phone.
'My wife would be home soon." With this, Peter shook him and walked away leaving Dylan to ponder on the words he told him
