Chapter 13 – The Truth
Reign
“Actually, go to this address.” I said handing Damien a piece of paper. He raised his brow at me. “Just go there, Mac rented it for the next week. I need to get outta that hotel. Spencer and Moses already checked it out and are waiting on us. We will stay there until the day before the show.” “You sent them without telling me?” He was annoyed, whatever, I rolled my eyes at him. “You did say to let you, Shadow or Moses know if I needed anything, so I told Moses since you and Shadow were busy.” I said shrugging my shoulders cuddling with my new puppies. “Moses didn’t tell me anything.” He said in thought. “I asked him not too.” “Why?” He asked. “Because I figured you would argue with me about it, and I didn’t feel like arguing with you over this.” I sighed. “I need quiet, and I want to step outside without camera’s flashing in my face.” I finished as we pulled into the long dirt road leading to the house. “I wouldn’t have argued with you about it if you had just told me why you wanted this. I only want what’s best for you. If you need peace and quiet, then I will do what I have to make sure you get it.” He told me as we parked in front of the house.
“Damn, Ry.” Jazlyn and Ryott said in awe. I giggled at them. “I guess you approve.” “Hell yeah! I can’t wait to run through the woods.” Jazlyn said. “You hate to sweat, why would you run through the woods?” Jyden teased. “I meant go for a walk.” She quickly corrected herself. That was weird, Jaz hates to sweat, she always has towels and some kind of fan pointing her way when we are on stage. “Whatever.” I said getting out of the car with my new furbabies scampering right behind me as they sniffed their new surroundings. “C’mon, I’ll show you around.” I told them walking up the steps and opening the door. I handed a set of keys to Damien. “There are seven rooms, each room has their own bathroom, with three guest bathrooms scattered around the first floor. The first floor has the kitchen, dining, living room and two guest rooms that share one of the three bathrooms. The second and third floors have two full-sized rooms, and the fourth floor has the master bedroom, which is mine.” The master bedroom took up the whole floor, the bathroom alone is bigger than my previous one and a huge walk-in closet. “This place is awesome.” Jyden cheered. “Ya'll pick a floor or a room, there’s also a three-story cabin with another six rooms down that path that the rest of the guys can stay in.” I gestured out the back door. “There should be more than enough room for everybody and if there isn’t then figure it out on your own.” “One question.” Koltyn spoke up. I looked at him just waiting for his question. “What?” I motioned for him to continue. “What about food?” “Is that all you think about?” Jaz snorted. He smiled at her, “nope, that is not all I think about.” He said pulling her into his arms, she giggled as he nuzzled her. I rolled my eyes at them, “Gross! Not this shit again! Please go pick a room for that shit.” I grunted. “The fridge and cabinets are fully stocked, so you won’t go hungry. Now if you don’t mind, I need some air, there’s a small pond down the path right out the door, I’ll be there.” I said walking out the door. As I made my way down the path to the pond, the moon was shining brightly lighting my way. It was beautiful night.
Damien
“I think this is probably a good time and place to tell her.” Ryott suggested. “We’ve walked most of the property, we are out in the middle of nowhere.” Spyder started. “There’s seems to be around twenty-five acres, it could be much more, but we were able to secure at least twenty-five. We set up the security systems. We can safely reveal to her.” “Spyder’s right. This is the best place, we have the opportunity now instead of waiting, just do it, rip the band aide off.” Koltyn said. “I think we have kept this secret from her long enough.” “Let me and Ryott go out to her first. You and the guys follow close behind us…in wolf form.” Jaz stated. Everyone looked at each other. “Okay, let’s get this done. We, our, pack needs their Luna.” Jyden said. “And you big brother, need your mate.” He smiled at me. Jazlyn and Ryott made their way out the door down to the pond. When they got to the pond, Reign was laying on her back looking up at the stars. Jyden, Koltyn, and I were following close behind hiding behind trees and bushes. We followed close enough so that we could see and hear them talking.
“Hey Ry.” They both said, she sat up and smiled at them. “May we join you?” Jaz asked. “Of course.” “So, whatcha thinking?” Ryott asked. She gave them a small smile. “There’s that beautiful smile that melts my brother’s heart.” Jaz grinned. “Jazlyn.” She groaned. “What?!” She said looking at Reign with such an innocent look. “It’s true.” She giggled. I could see the blood rushing to my mate's cheeks, she is so adorable when she blushes. “Jaz, I hardly know Damien, how can he have these feelings for me? And such strong feelings?” She questioned. “I know he’s in charge of my security and I know he sent Shadow to watch over me”. She looked over at Jaz, who had her lips pursed together and scrunched her eyebrows. “I didn’t say anything because…” she trailed off, let out a deep sigh. “I feel safe when he’s near.” She finally whispered and admitted. Jaz wrapped Reign in a big hug, Ryott joined in on the love. They both pulled away from her, “of course you feel safe with him…he’s your mate.” Ryott cheerfully chirped. Reign looked over to Jaz. “You and Damien are fated to be together. You are fated to be his and he yours from the day you two were born. You and he complete each other, no matter what, you two fit together like a glove in every way.” She softly explained.
Reign just frowned at her, “Jazlyn, I’m done with the riddles and shit! Just tell me what the hell is going on?!” She demanded. Jaz was quiet for longer than Reign wanted. “Fine! Don’t tell me!” She huffed and turned to walk away but she was face to face with Jyden, Koltyn, and me. “What do you three buttmunches have to say?!” She yelled as I stepped closer to her. “No! I’m done with the secrets and lies! If ya’ll can’t stop lying to me then all this,” she motioned between all of them, “is done! After the now farewell show, we will all go our separate ways. You never hafta see me again.” Reign said holding back her tears. She tried to run past us, but I grabbed her arm as she ran past me. The glare she gave me ripped through my heart. “Please let me explain.” I whispered pulling her closer to me. She tried squirming away from me, but I just held her tighter. I placed a kiss on the top of her head. “I should’ve told you; we should have all told you, years ago. I was afraid that you would leave me and not want to be with me. Everyone told me to tell you, but I didn’t think you were ready for the truth.” I looked down at her. I saw worry flash through her eyes. “Please keep an open mind and don’t be afraid.” I pleaded. “I would never hurt you.” “W-why would I be afraid? And why would you hurt me?” She asked. I pulled her closer, cupped her cheeks and kissed her nose. “I would never hurt you. Remember, no fear.” I whispered.

Damien let me go, Ryott stood next to me while the others followed him behind the trees. “Reign, I need for you to stay focused on me and what I’m about to tell you and what you’re about to see.” Ryott started to explain. “Everybody except you and me aren’t who you think they are, well more like what they are.” Ryott saw the confusion and fear to set in. “What do you mean, what they are?” I questioned. “They wanted to tell you but when Damien and you met and he realized that you were his mate, that changed things. It was his responsibility to tell you.” Ryott explained. Before I could respond, I heard what sounded like tree branches snapping and popping. I scanned my surroundings; I saw four huge dark forms walk towards me. These forms were not human, their eyes met mine, I saw something familiar in them. Especially the bigger form, his icy blue eyes held something familiar. “R-Ry-Ryott, w-wh-what is that?” I stuttered pointing to the huge forms now standing behind Ryott. “Is…is…is that a wolf?” I asked. Ryott giggled as the black and white spotted wolf rubbed against her and licked her cheek and nuzzled her as she gently wrapped her arms around the wolf and caressed his fur. As she caressed him, he let out a low growl of satisfaction. The remaining three wolves slowly approached, the small dirty blonde wolf yipped and got Ryott’s attention. “Oh, sorry. Apollo distracted me.” She giggled as the black and white wolf kept nuzzling her. “Jyden, stop.” She whispered pushing the wolf from her so she could continue. “Ryott, are you…why did you call that wolf Jyden?” I asked covering my mouth with my hand. “This is a joke, right? Are you trying to tell me that that wolf is Jyden?” My voice trembled slightly. “Yes, it is and no, it’s not a joke. Trust us, please.” Ryott pleaded.
