Chapter 53: His Mate
Reign
My head is spinning. “Mistress, please try not to move too quickly.” I heard a female voice whisper. “What happened?” I asked rubbing my head. “Where am I? You’re in master’s bedroom. He had some business to attend to, he will return soon.” She told me. “Please let me go.” I begged. “I’m sorry Mistress...” she paused “...but I can’t. Master was very clear about keeping you here.” She said with a sad smile. I sigh, “you know he’s not my mate, right?” She nods. “Then why are you doing this? I need my mate, please.” I winced. “My pups need their daddy, only he can help calm them. Please help me.” I begged. “I’m sorry, I can’t.” She said. “There is a change of clothes, towels, and bath items in the bathroom. You can shower and I will bring you something to eat. Do you have any dislikes or things you can’t eat?” I shook my head no. “I will return in 30 minutes,” and she left the room, and I heard her lock the door.
“Damien.” I whispered. “Please, where are you? We need you.” I said to myself rubbing my baby belly. “It’s okay my babies, daddy will find us.” I assured them, they were already getting restless and knew something wasn’t right. “Reign!” I heard his voice boom through my head. “Babygirl, where are you?” “Damien! I don’t know where I am! I-I’m locked in a room, alone. There’s a woman here taking care, well more like watching, me for her master, whoever he is.” “Baby, please try and stay calm.” He started. “We know Luther took you and where you are.” Relief overcame me. “I need for you to be patient; I will come for you. Remember, I love you.” He soothed. “No, no, no, I can’t have you contacting anyone.” And I felt a prick in my neck. “Damien.” I whispered. “I love you.” And darkness fell over me.
When I finally woke up, I heard voices talking, well, more like arguing. “Please, you can’t do this to me.” I heard the same female voice plead. “Shut up!” I know that voice. “Don’t you get it? She’s mine, you’re nothing to me!” He yelled. “But I’m your mate! Not her!” She cried. “She’s carrying another male’s pups! HER MATES pups not yours.” SMACK I heard. “You’re not my mate!” He yelled at her. So, she’s, his mate? How could he turn his back on her? “True mates make you weak?” He scoffed. “And she’s not making you weak?!” She observed. “You’re so blind, I hate you! The Goddess said that I am…was to be your second chance. That your first mate was taken from you too soon, she wanted you to be happy and to let Reign go, to let her be happy with her mate, her true destined mate.” She huffed. “He’s the one who woke her wolf, not you! If you were her true mate, you would have been the one to have awoken her wolf!” She glared at him. “I don’t care what the Goddess told you!” He backed handed her, she staggered and fell. “She’s mine and will always be mine, not you.” He kept hitting, kicking, and punching her, I could hear her desperate sobs. “Stop!” I yelled running as best I could at him pushing him off of her. “She’s your mate, how could you?” I cradled his mate in my arms. “She’s a nobody to me. You are the one I want, the only one for me. You’re the only one who can help me rule over all the realms.” He yanked me off his mate. “I, Madison Reid, reject you, Luther Garan, as my mate now and forever more. May the Gods and Goddesses have mercy on your soul.” She cried as she doubled over in pain. He fell over, clutching his chest, panting. “C’mon! Let’s go!” She pulled me up and dragged me out the door. “This is your chance; go before he regains his senses.” She pleaded. “You need to come with me, he will only hurt you more and worse, trust me, I know.” She looked at me for a few seconds, “fine, let's get moving.” She pulled herself up and led me down the hall. “Is there anyone else here?” I asked her. “Yes, but I think we can get by them. Just follow my lead.” She smiled at me. “We need to cover our scent.” “Why did you decided to help me?” I asked her as she led me out of the house. “You’re not his mate, you’re carrying pups that don’t belong to him and he’s too stupid to see what the Goddess was trying to give him.” She stopped and helped me duck down.
“She came to me, told me about him and where to find him, I was so happy to know that I had a mate out there waiting for me...” she paused “...or so I thought.” There was sadness in her voice and her eyes. She motioned for me to stand. “Here.” She pushed a phone into my hands. “Call your mate, he can track this phone.” She walked ahead of me. “Thank you.” I whispered. I dialed his number, “Babygirl? Where are you?” Damien pleaded. “I don’t know but you can track this phone.” I sobbed, these damn hormones have me crying at the drop of a hat. “How did you get away?” He asked. “His mate.” I paused. “Was his mate.” “What do you mean was?” “She rejected him. He was...beating her. She tried to love him, to make him happy but he didn’t want to let me go.” “We got her location!” I heard in the background. “Babygirl, stay where you are, we will be there in less than 10 minutes.” He said, I could see the smile on his face. “Please hurry.” I whispered and tucked the phone in my back pocket.
“Madison! Reign! Come out, come out, come out wherever you are. I know you’re out here.” He hissed. Madison put her finger to her lips, telling me to stay quiet. “I can’t smell you, but I can hear those little mutts heart beats.” I wrapped my arms around my baby belly, hugging myself tight. “Your mate won’t be able to save them and then you will be mine.” He growled and before I could really react, I was pulled to my feet. “Ah, there you are sweetheart.” He grunted in my ear as he dragged his tongue along Damien’s mark. “Aahh...” I yelled out as burning pain shot through my body and brought me to my knees. “No! Let me go! I’m not yours!” I spit. “Why can’t you just leave me alone!?” Luther, please let her go.” Madison begged. “We can go somewhere far away, just you and me. Start over again.” “Ha! You rejected me!” He backhanded her. “I made a mistake, you’re my mate. I still love you. All I’ve ever wanted was for you to love me.” She cried. “I could never love you!” He snarled at her. “You’re nothing compared to Reign.” “Please Luther, let me love you.” She pleaded. He laughed at her. “You’re nothing to me, no one would ever want a filthy rogue like you.” I heard bones snap and growls. Madison had shifted into her wolf. She was pissed. “Madison don’t do this.” He told her. “Look, I’m letting her go.” And he released his hold on me. “Madison,” I called to her and I walked over to her. “Reign, get away from her!” Jyden demanded. I glared at him. “Madison, you can come home with me. Let me help you like you helped me.” I smiled at her. “You’re a nobody, no one wants you around.” Luther taunted her. Grant moved towards Luther and punched him in the stomach. “Keep your mouth shut.” He snarled. “Don’t listen to him.” Grifyn told her softly walking next to me. “Grif, what are you doing?” I huffed at him. “Sshhh.” He waved me away, “you did not just wave me away, you asshat!” I grumbled at him. He ignored me and continued to walk closer to Madison’s wolf. “Madison, my name is Grifyn Blackburn and this my brother, Grant.” Grant waved and smiled at her. “Reign is our sister, we have two more sisters, Grace, she’s our triplet and Geneva, she's five.” She kept her eyes on them. Luther tried to use this distraction as his chance to get away but was meet with Shadow’s fist, my Shadow, always there for me. “You’re not going anywhere.” Koltyn chuckled and slapped a set of sliver chains on him, even though his vampire was dominant, he was still affected by silver and wolfsbane. “Madison, please shift.” I told her. “Get her a shirt!” I demanded. Grant took off his shirt as she shifted and gave it to her. She raised her nose and sniffed the air. Her eyes went wide. “This can’t be.” She whispered. She made eye contact with Grant and Grifyn, “MATE.” The three of them said in unison. I think she was more surprised than anyone. “What?! No!” Luther roared. “You’re MINE!” He yelled. “I’m NOT letting another mutt take what is mine!” He yelled. My brother’s rolled their eyes at him. “Hey dumbass, they aren’t wolves, they’re vampires.” Shadow and they guys laughed. “Yeah, I thought you could smell your own kind?” Koltyn tilted his head to the side in wonder. “Maybe his sniffer is broken.” Jyden teased. They went back and forth between the three of themselves. I swear they are hardly ever serious.
Grifyn was facing Luther in no time and was nose to nose with him. “Ha! Your mate?” He snorted. “You said it yourself you didn’t want her, that she’s nothing to you, that you could NEVER love her,” he seethed. “Now that she has found us, you want to lay claim to her. Not a chance, she belongs to us now, she belongs to me and my brother.” He smirked. “I haven’t accepted her rejection, so she’s still mine.” He smugly smiled. “You don’t even want me, just accepted my rejection, let me go.” Madison pleaded. “Even if he doesn’t accept your rejection, he will feel the pain of us worshipping your body. If he wants to feel the pain of it all, then let him.” Grant smirked. “Besides, that can be easily solved.” Dad Landon said smiling wide. “That’s if Madison really wants to be rid of you.” He looked at her. “Beautiful,” Grant took Madison’s hands in his, “do you want him, or do you want us?” He asked her. “I want...” she looked between Luther and the twins “...I want you and Grifyn.” She whispered. “Well, then my dear, in order to rid yourself of this filth,” he motioned to Luther, “you will need to allow your mates to mark you and you mark them. I know it seems rushed but once you’re marked by them, you will be free of this filth.”
“No! Madison please, don’t. I’m sorry for what I did to you, I was stupid. I know I should have treated you better. I should have left Reign alone.” He admitted. “I want you but my wolf, my wolf he was hell bent on having Reign.” “I don’t believe you!” She yelled. “You beat me, you beat Reign and you say you loved us? What a joke!” She spit at him with anger. “I thought I was lucky to have you as my mate, but I was wrong, the Goddess was wrong about you. She wanted you to be happy, but you had to let your past go, you have to let your past go in order to be happy and have a future.” Madison looked at Luther one last time, “Good-bye Luther. I hope you find your happiness and peace.”
I wrapped my arms around Damien’s waist and nuzzled my face into his chest and inhaled his scent. Our pups were finally calming down, they had been so restless since Luther took us. Damien held me tight and rubbed my belly helping to sooth our little ones. “They know who their daddy is. Sshhh...the four of you are safe. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to stop him. Can you ever forgive me?” He asked lowering his face into the crook of my neck. “There’s nothing to forgive my love.” I assured him. “You’re here now that’s what matters.”
“So, Madison, will you let us mark you?” Grant and Grifyn asked with so much hope in their voice. “But if you mark me, you’re stuck with me. I’m a nobody, a rogue with no pack, no family, I have nothing to offer you. What if you change your mind? What if you decide that you want a female vampire?
She blurted out so quickly we lost track of her questions. “If I may?” I asked. “Let’s throw him...” I motioned my thumb to Luther “...in the cells. I want to go home. I’m tired, hungry, thirsty, and dirty. I whined. Madison and I need food, a shower and some rest, these little ones need some daddy time also. After we have gotten some rest, Madison can decide if she wants to be a part of our family.” I suggested. “And Madison, you have a lot to offer, you may not believe it, but you do.” I assured her. “Moses! Bring the cars, we need to get our new pack member and Luna home.” Damien ordered. “You got it! We also need to call home and let them know Reign is safe.” Shadow said pulling out his phone. “Princess?” I turned and saw my dad, granpa, grampa Jax and Uncle Jakob. I sobbed and ran into their open arms. “Tinkerbelle.” Dad said inhaling my scent. “How did ya’ll find me so fast?” “We had some help, but we can talk about that tomorrow. Let’s get you home.” Damien said. Damien, I, Shadow, Jyden, and Dad Landon were in one car and everybody else followed behind with a handful of warriors also following in wolf form.
“Is Madison, okay?” I asked. “Yes.” Damien chuckled. “She’s safely wrapped in both your brother’s arms. Hahaha, more like a Madison sandwiched.” Jyden laughed. Yeah, I don’t think they will be letting her leave their side anytime soon. Damien commented. Like you’re going to let Reign from your sight. Shadow snorted. You won’t hear me complaining for at least a few weeks. I smiled crawling into Damien’s lap. I needed to be close to him to have his touch, his scent on me.
Reign? Dyanera? Is that you? Yes, are you okay? Where are we? She asked sounding tired and dazed. I’m good, we are on the way home. What happened to you? I asked her. “I’m pretty sure he drugged us well drugged me so I couldn’t surface to help you or contact Ayres. I’m so sorry.” Dyanera whimpered. “It’s not your fault.” I assured her. “We were helped by Luther’s mate, who ended up rejecting him and is now mated to Grant and Grif.” I informed her. “What? You’re outta of it for a day or so and shit like this happens.” She softly giggled. “I need more rest; I still feel weak.” “You rest, we can catch up when you are better. I know Ayres will be so excited to see you.” “Yes, he’s already talking and comforting me.” She giggled. “Baby, you, okay?” Damien whispered. “Yeah, Dyanera’s back, Luther drugged her.” “What? Shadow hurry up get us home, Dad, call Aunt Ebbie let her know that Luther drugged Reign, well he drugged Dyanera. Jyden see if Spencer and Spyder can find out what that asshole gave her. Our pups may have been affected.” “Damien, no. They have to be okay.” I started sobbing. “It didn’t even cross my mind.” “Baby, please try to stay calm but the pups need to be checked and watched. Aunt Ebbie can run tests to see if they’re okay.” “They have to be okay.” I leaned my head on his shoulder and quietly sobbed until I fell asleep. “Reign, our pups are safe. I promise, they weren’t hurt by whatever it is he gave me.” Dyanera assured me.
