Chapter 28 – Good Morning
Reign
The sun rays were peeking through the dark curtains in the room. Where was I? I went to get up but there was a big, heavy object holding me down. I would wiggle but the object tightened around my stomach. I looked over and realized that the object in question was not a something but a someone and it belonged to Damien, it was his arm. Wholly cheese balls! We’re in the same bed and has his arm around me. Oh, my dear giddy aunt! I peeked under the blankets, whew, thank God, we are both dressed. “Damien.” I said softly but he didn’t budge, so I poked his cheek, next thing I knew he grabbed my hand. I squealed and he kissed the inside of my palm. “Good morning.” His voice was raspy and husky, he smiled at me. My heart skipped a beat or two. I blushed. “Mornin’” I whispered. “I am going to get used to waking up with you my arms every morning.” He said nuzzling into the crook of my neck and inhaling deeply placing a soft kiss there. A small moan escaped my lips as he kissed and sucked. My body exploded with electricity flowing through it curling my toes. One of his hands was cradling my head as he continued kissing my neck while his other hand was massaging my thigh. This went on for what seemed like hours, and I wasn’t complaining.
Knock, knock, he released my neck with a loud pop. He growled at whoever was on the other side of the door. “Go away.” He said looking at me and continuing to massage my thigh. “Breakfast is ready, and doc is going to come and check on Reign.” Jaz said through the door. “Reign do you need help dressing?” “Uh…no. I’ll be okay.” I told her, trying not to giggle to loud cause Damien was lightly tickling me. “Let me know if you need any help.” She said and walked away. We laid there for a few minutes and then he picked me up and took me to the bathroom. “Thank you.” I whispered. He smiled and walked out. “I have something coming for you today.” He said from the closet. He knocked and handed me a pair of shorts and one of his t-shirts. “You can use these.” I took them, turned to the sink and washed up. I looked in the mirror. “Damien Ayres Hunt!” I yelped, he ran in, and I also heard footstep that sounded like a stampede. “What?! What’s wrong?! Did you hurt yourself?!” He asked looking me up and down, as everyone else ran into the bedroom. “What happened? Did someone get in?” Jyden said as he and Koltyn sniffed around the bedroom ready to pounce. I hid behind Damien. “Reign.” Jaz looked at me. “Are you okay?” “Uuhhh…yeah, I’m fine, no problem here.” “What’s going on with you?” I said feeling the blush rise. “Are you sure?” Ryott asked squinting one eye at me and smirking. “Yeah, yeah, all is good.” I said pinching Damien’ back making him wince. Jaz narrowed her eyes at us. “Then why are you hiding behind my stupid brother? She asked raising her eyebrows at me. “I’m not hiding.” I told her. “I’m just not completely dressed.” “Yyyeeeaaahhhh, okay sure.” She grunted. “I know there’s something going on, I’m not leaving until you tell me.” She and Ryott planted themselves and crossed their arms across their chest. Dammitt, I knew it! They’re not going to let this go. “This is really none of your business.” Damien told them. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and hobbled out from behind Damien. Everyone got quiet, stared and started giggling. I could feel the heat rush to my cheeks, I probably looked like a tomato. “What the hell is that?” Koltyn gaped pointing at my neck. Jazlyn punched him in the arm. I hid back behind Damien. I was so embarrassed. “All of you out!!” Damien chuckled. They all scrambled backwards and scurried out of the room closing the door behind them still giggling and laughing.
“How could you do that?!” I yelped putting my hand over the HUGE hickey on my neck. “I’m sorry, we got carried away.” He said pulling me into his arms. I tried pulling away from him. “Please forgive us.” He asked with a pout. “You just taste so damn good, and your scent...” he inhaled “...drives us insane.” He said kissing the same spot. This man is going to be the death of me. “We?” I frowned raising my brow. “Ayres and me.” He chuckled. “Really? You’re gonna blame him?” I scolded. “Not just him, it was really the both of us.” He confessed. “I will try to control myself, but I can’t make any promises for Ayres. It’s just that having you so close is driving me...us, insane. Ayres has been getting harder to control when it comes to you.” He sighed. “He has been demanding that I claim you since we came back to you. He’s been pissed off at me for the past three years.” He said drawing circles on my back.
His touch was relaxing, and the crazy thing is that when he’s with me, there’s a fire in my belly, just a brush of his hand and it’s like electric shocks shoot down my body. It’s the same feeling that I had when we met three years ago. The heat, the desire and the need of wanting him. Just a look from him and I melt, when he’s with me, I feel safe, there’s a pull to him that I first felt three years ago. “I’m sorry I didn’t realize.” I softly said. “It’s not your fault. Ayres is just a big ole horn dog when it comes to you.” He laughed. “Shut the hell up, you’re just as much a horn dog as me, and for mate only.” Ayres shot back at me. I watched him as his eyes were fogged over, I figured he was talking or maybe arguing with Ayres. “Uh, yeah, you and Ayres need to have ya’lls argument later. I’m hungry and after breakfast we need to sit down and talk about this mating and claiming thing. In the meantime, keep your marks where they can’t be seen, better yet...” I poked his chest. “...keep them to yourself for now.” I told him. He looked down at me. “I can’t promise I can keep my hands to myself, but I will try, and I definitely can’t make promises for Ayres, he just wants to make sure that other males know that you belong to him, to us.” He grinned at me as he scooped me up, making me squeal and carried me down to breakfast.
When we walked in, everyone got quiet. “What?!” Damien asked. “Haven’t you ever seen mates having fun with each other?” He asked raising his brows. I was blushing and hid my face into his neck, you would think that being on stage that I would be okay with people’s eyes on me but for some reason this was different. “Reign, please. You embarrassed?! Get a grip!” Ryott chirped. I gave her a glare. “Yeah, and you, big brother? Having fun? That is so not you.” Jyden teased. “All right everyone, EAT!” Damien’s dad, Landon, ordered looking over at us with a huge smile. Damien sat me down and went to serve him and me a plate. I hope he remembers what I like, of course, not that it really matters, I am on a very long-needed vacay. Ryott served me some orange juice and Damien placed a plate of food in front of me. “I can’t eat all of this.” I said wide eyed as Damien chuckled. “Eat what you can, trust me, whatever you don’t finish those two garbage cans will.” He pointed to Jyden and Koltyn. “I’ve watched the both of them eat, it has always been a disgusting thing to watch them eat.” I shook my head and crinkled my nose at them. “You know your food isn’t going anywhere, right?” I asked them. Without missing a beat, “are you gonna finish that?” Koltyn asked pointing at my plate. Damien growled at him, “she hasn’t even started eating yet!” He warned. “I was just checking; she eats like a bird. I don’t want any food to go to waste.” He said stuffing his face. “Touch her plate and you will lose a finger.” Damien growled. I turned away from Koltyn and put the food I wanted to eat on another plate. After I took the food I wanted, I offered it to Damien, when he took his serving and was sure that we were done I pushed the plate over to Koltyn and Jyden. They happily accepted the food and continued to stuff their faces. We ate, talked and joked, it was nice to not have to rush and worry about living by a schedule or living outta a suitcase.
As I finished eating, I heard someone start singing the birthday song. Damien’s mom walked out of the kitchen holding a beautiful birthday cake. My jaw dropped in surprise. I looked at Damien and he smiled at me. “We needed to give you a memorable 18th birthday.” He said helping to my feet. “We are going to have a pack dinner tonight to celebrate your birthday.” His mom, Becca, said. “Thank you but that’s really not necessary. Of course, it is.” She winked at me serving me a slice of strawberry cheesecake covered in chocolate sauce. Damien zoned out for a few minutes. “Hey babygirl, doc said she’s ready for you but asked if we could go to her. So, when you’re done eating, we can make our way. We can also take her a piece of cake.” He said wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I nodded in agreement as I dug into my ever so delicious piece of strawberry, chocolate cheesecake. “I’ll leave the rest of cake in the fridge in your room, and you can finish it later.” Becca said taking the remaining cake from the table. “Hey! We weren't done with that.” Jyden and Koltyn whined. “It's not yours.” Becca scolded. “So, you two better stay away from it.” She warned. Damien laughed to himself. “Shadow!” Damien called and Shadow appeared outta nowhere. “Sup Boss? Dammitt Shadow! Don’t do that shit!” Damien jumped up. I couldn’t help but laugh. “Awe, shit, shit, shit!” I yelped. Damien rushed to my side in an instant. “Baby, are you okay?” “Yeah, I guess I shouldn’t laugh that hard yet. My ribs are killing me.” I groaned. “Well then, I guess you shouldn’t have laughed at me.” He smirked at me. “Oh no, I will be laughing at you, a lot but just not as hard until my ribs heal up.” I teased. “I guess that’s another thing we will need to discuss.” He said inhaling deeply and squeezing my butt making me yelp. “Shadow, bring her new cart around, we need to get to doc’s office.” He instructed. “My new cart? What cart?” I asked with curiosity. Before he answered, Shadow pulled up in a glittering light purple golf cart. “This cart.” He smiled. “C’mon, doc is a busy lady, let’s get going.” He said placing me in the passenger side of the cart.
