Chapter 31 – Reign and Luther
Reign
“What about me?” I asked sitting up straight. “Boys, where are you?” Alpha Landon boomed. “Alpha Landon!” I called out. “What’s happening? Why do you need to talk to Damien about me? If it has to do with me, I should be told! It’s my life!” I yelled. I started tearing up and trembling. “He’s found me, hasn’t he?” I whispered. I don’t know if anyone heard me, but I think they did. Jaz told me that they had super hearing. Damien’s dad walked over to me and sat next me I heard a low growl. He glared at Damien. “Sorry dad.” Damien mumbled. Landon nodded and put his arm around my shoulders. “No, he hasn’t found you, but he has been seen around London.” My trembling got harder as Alpha Landon pulled me to him and embraced me. “We will protect you; you are not only my son’s mate, but you are our future Luna and my youngest pup. You’re our family and no one harms my family, especially my pups.” I scrunched my brows a little. “I’m not a pup, am I?” I asked out loud. He looked at me and chuckled. He cupped my face, “you will always be my pup, my child, my daughter. You have the same privileges as my biological pups have.”
“I’m sorry for yelling at you. I didn’t mean to yell at you.” I sobbed leaning into his embrace. “Jyden, Koltyn have the warriors increase patrols.” Damien instructed as he walked over to me and brought me tightly into his embrace. I sobbed, my trembling slowly started to stop, my breathing and heart rate were getting back to normal. I nuzzled closer to his chest; I could feel my breathing get back to normal. My sobs turned into small hiccups. “Why is he doing this to me?” I asked gritting my teeth. “Ryven.” My now father called to me. I looked up at him, “please call me Reign. Ryven is my last name and Rose is my middle name.” I gave a faint smile. Damien leaned into my ear. “My Reign.” He whispered. He chuckled lowly feeling my body’s reaction to him saying my name. “Oh, how I love the way your body shivers against mine, the sparks that flow through your body as they flow through mine also.” Hearing him say my first name, the way it flowed off his tongue, it felt so right. I leaned into his arms just a little tighter.
“Reign.” Alpha Landon called me again. “Yes.” I responded still buried in Damien’s arms. “What can you tell us about Luther?” I pulled slightly away from Damien, just enough to look at his dad. “He was my bodyguard since I was fourteen. He was in charge until ya’ll took over and fired him.” Damien and his dad glanced at each other. “He’d been with me since I first started. I was fourteen, he was twenty-four, he drove me around to the studio, appearances, everywhere. I didn’t get my license until I turned seventeen, that’s when I really started doing things on my own, I was trying to spread my wings.” I giggled. “No pun intended.” I smiled. “How did Luther react to that?” Alpha Landon’s Beta, Lucas asked. I chewed on the inside of my cheek. “He wasn’t happy.” I started thinking back. “You know, now that I think about it, he was always showing up when I least expected. If I was with the brat pack, he never showed up but if was out alone or on a...” I trailed off and looked at Damien and put my head down. I didn’t want to make eye contact. “...date, he would appear outta nowhere.” I felt Damien tense when I said date. I moved away but he pulled me back towards him and he nuzzled my neck and took in a deep breath. He relaxed and growled lowly. “Son, we need to continue, please.” His dad chuckled. “Reign is there anything else?” He asked me. I took a deep breath and concentrated on Alpha Landon. “When we were on tour it was never a thing but when we had time off, that’s when he would appear outta nowhere. Reign.” Jaz called. “That’s not all, remember January?” She looked at me sadly. I shook my head; I didn’t want to talk about it. “Reign, babygirl, what happened?” Damien asked putting his index finger under my chin, so I was looking at him. Tears were streaming down my cheeks. I couldn’t talk, it’s like my voice disappeared. “We all trusted Luther; we never had any reason not to.” Jaz started. “Up until January, nothing was out of the ordinary. We noticed he was a little too attentive to Reign, he would always try to touch and hug her. We tried to stay with her and not leave them alone but there was one time and that’s all it took.” I tensed as she continued. “Mac told him that he and the record company decided on a new security team, that we were going to be overseas longer than anticipated and that we would need a bigger team. He lost it, said that he wasn’t going to let her go, that she was his. Where she went, he went.” She looked at Damien. “That’s when I called you. Before Shadow showed, Luther went after her, he took her from her room and by the time we got back to room, she was gone. Mac called the police, and they were able to track him down, thank the Goddess she had her phone with her. It had a tracker, when our suspicions started, Mac got her a new phone and activated it. They were able to locate them within a few hours. He’s a dumb shit, they found them at the bus station.” She snorted. I rolled my eyes at her. “Reign was staying pretty calm, but I could tell her little hamster wheel was hard working trying to figure out a way to get away from him.” She grinned at me.
Damien pulled me onto his lap and held me tight. “Did he hurt you?” He asked through gritted teeth I could feel his anger rising. “It doesn’t matter.” I whispered. “It's over, I don't want to ever think about that time again.” “Babygirl, I need you to tell me, otherwise, it will eat at me, and I’ll lose control of Ayres. I don’t want to do that. Did. He. Hurt. You?” He growled out. “He slapped me when I started to fight back. He said that he regretted teaching me how to fight.” I snorted lightly. “But when he growled at me,” I stopped… “WAIT? When he what?!” They all said at the same time. “When he growled…” I just realized what I’d said. My eyes went wide. “He growled at me! He’s like ya’ll! Can that be possible?” I asked in disbelief. Alpha Landon and Beta Lucas got to their feet. “Yes, it’s very possible, there are thousands of packs worldwide.” Beta Lucas said. “Damien, you stay with your mate. Jyden, Koltyn you two come with us, we need to find this Luther.” He ordered. “Dad.” Damien started as he stood up. “NO!” He boomed. “Stay and care for your mate. Take a team of men and go home, you can keep her safe there. It’s hidden in the woods, away from anyone’s view. It won’t be found easily besides the two of you need to spend some time alone.” He said as his voice soften with a smile. “Okay, but if anything happens or…” “Son, trust us to protect your mate and our Luna.” Landon told Damien. “Thank you, dad.” Damien held his hand out for me to take, he helped me to my feet, picking me up in his arms and he walked out of the pack house.
“Jaz, Ryott please gather Reign’s cloths and personal items, along with some food and drinks and have them sent over.” “Yeah, sure of course. Do you need anything?” Jaz asked. “Nah, I pretty much had my things moved a few days before we got home. Thanks.” They both nodded at him and went to gather my things. “Oh, so you just knew that I was gunna stay in that absolutely beautiful house you built for us, huh?” I raised an eyebrow at him. “I knew you wouldn’t be able to say no, and I was hoping.” He told me with a huge grin. He sat me in the golf cart, and we made our way home in silence, I was listening to the trees and the sounds of the forest. “It’s so peaceful.” I whispered not wanting to break the silence as he carried me to the patio. “Yup, sure is. I love being out here. I would sometimes sleep out here, it drove mom crazy because she could never find me.” He stopped and sat down on the futon that was on the patio. “When I had my first shift, I slept in this very spot in my wolf form.” He had yet to release his hold on me, I wasn’t complaining. I loved being in his arms, I felt safe, like this is exactly where I belonged, and I felt…safe and loved. I had a family that I’d not had in a long time. They were mine; Damien is MINE. “What are thinking about babygirl?” He asked. I smiled. “Would it be okay if Ayres sat with me for a little while?” “You sure?” “Yep, I’m sure. I mean he’s my mate also, right?” “Yes, he is.” I chuckled.
