Chapter 45: Daddy & Babies

Damien

“Of course, it’s not good for you and…” I told her rubbing her back. “Wait what were you going to say? Not good for you or…?” She started pacing and came to a stop. “Babygirl, what are you not telling me?” She let out a long sigh. “This is ssssoooo not the way I wanted to tell you or when I wanted to tell you. I had it all planned out.” She said putting my hand on her stomach and smiled at me. “Babygirl…” I stared into her eyes and looked down at her stomach and back up to her. She giggled, “Mac is gonna be pretty pissed, especially because he’s gonna think I lied to him but when I told him I wasn’t, I mean I didn’t know. I found out after I talked to him.” She went on letting out a small snort. “Babe, are you telling me that we…that you’re…pregnant?” I asked her, trying not to get too excited. I’m sure that’s what she’s trying to say but I need confirmation. She squeezed my hand and smiled. “Damien, you’re going to be a daddy.” She told me as a tear trailed down her cheek. “But baby, I thought you were on the pill.” I asked her in surprised. “I am, or was, but I came down with that sinus infection and Ebbie gave me some antibiotics, which can reduce the effectiveness of the pill.” She rambled. “And then Ebbie wanted to see if my issues healed when Dya appeared and well, they did all the tests she ran show that I no longer have any cysts and I got knocked up. It actually happened the night we were talking about having babies.” She laughed. “I knew there was a risk but…I’m glad it happened.” I wasn’t sure how to react with what she just said. “Damien…Damien…please say something.” She said sniffling lightly. “I thought you would be happy.” She whispered.

“Babygirl.” I finally said picking her up off of her feet and spinning her around. “Eeeeekkkkkk …Dddddamien!” She squealed. “Are you kidding me?! You have made me the happiest wolf in the world!” I told her peppering her with kisses. I set her back down on her feet. I knelt down in front of her and kissed her tummy. “Hi there little one, it’s daddy, you need to make sure to go easy on your mum.” I told our baby. My beautiful mate lightly giggled. “C’mon.” I said picking her up bridal style, “let’s get you and our little one home. You both need to rest.” I kissed her temple. “Dbear, I can walk.” She told me with a frown. “Nope, you will not be walking anymore, I will carry you from now on.” I told her. “Damien, you can’t carry me all the time.” She scolded. “We’ve already discussed this. Wanna bet?” I winked at her. "That was when your leg was still healing and it did heal but now, you need to go easy.” “What if you’re not around? You gonna let Shadow or one of the other fuzzballs carry me around?” She questioned. “What?! No! of course not!” I growled. “Well then, you will need to let me walk on my own. I don’t want you walking from home to the pack house, it’s too far to walk.” I told her walking into our living room. “Fine, I’ll use the golf cart scooter thingy to get back and forth.” She reluctantly agreed. “I’ll get you another scooter to get around the pack house.” I smiled. “YOU WILL NOT!” She huffed. “I can walk just fine around the pack house thank you very much!” She grumbled walking upstairs to our room. I ran up behind her and lifted her up in my arms and carried her to our room. “Damien! I’m okay for now, it’s when I can’t see my feet that I will need help.” She frowned at the thought of not being able to see her feet.

“Babygirl, from this day on, I will handle what needs to be done regarding the kingdom and the realms. I don’t want you to stress out over anything. I will handle your uncle, Luther and whatever other issues come up with the pack, kingdom, and realms.” I told her. “I don’t want you to stress out over anything. Plus, we have gramps, the guys and dad to help.” “Dbear, please, can we talk about this later? I’m tired.” She sighed. I gently laid her on the bed. “Okay, we will have a family breakfast, tell everyone and then we will figure everything else out.” I told her leaving kisses all over her face. “Let’s sleep.” I told her bring her tighter against my chest. “You know you might be carrying twins.” I chuckled. “It does run in the family, mom and dad’s side.” “I don’t even want to think about that.” She giggled. I crawled under the blankets with her, and she immediately scooted closer to me. “Dyanera said that we won’t be able to shift during our pregnancy, she said that it might hurt the baby.” She whispered. “She’s right, shifting while pregnant is dangerous. I really don’t want you training either. We can go for walks, light stuff like that, maybe even do some yoga.” She raised an eyebrow at me. “Yoga? You do yoga? What do you know about yoga?” She chuckled. “Well, nothing but that doesn’t mean that I can’t figure it out.” “You figure it out, I’m going to sleep.” “Maybe you can check out some video’s on YouTube.” She giggled laying her head on my chest and nuzzled closer. “Good night my love.” I smiled at her and kissed her forehead.

Reign

I was fast asleep when I felt my stomach start to clench. I bolted up, “Babygirl are you okay?” I heard Damien ask as I darted out of bed to the bathroom barely making it to the toilet. Damien pulled my hair back in a ponytail and wiped my face with a wet washcloth. “Aunt Ebony is on her way up.” He told me as he rubbed my back. “Damien! Reign!” Ebony called out as she hurried into our room. “In the bathroom.” Damien answered. “Oh, my poor child, Damien, get her back in bed.” “No wait, I need to brush my teeth.” I said leaning on the sink lightly panting. “Bring her to bed when she’s done.” Aunt Ebbie chuckled. I brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth, I washed my face and like Damien had promised, he carried me to our bed. “Isn’t it far too early for morning sickness?” I asked rubbing my tummy. “Since you’re carrying an Alpha pup, they develop quicker, you’re looking at around a four-month pregnancy instead of a six-month pregnancy.” Aunt Ebbie started to explain. “Wait? Four months, six months? What happened to nine months?” I yelped. “Well, for a human pregnancy, yes, nine months is the norm, but you are a werewolf and carrying an alpha pup, so much shorter pregnancies.” She explained. “Go ahead and bring her to my office, I want to go ahead and do an ultrasound and get a good look at this little one.” She smiled. “Can I at least get her a little something to eat first?” Damien asked. “I don’t know Da, it may not stay down.” I winced. “It may not but you still need to eat.” Ebony instructed. “Try eating oatmeal, crackers, light fruit and some chamomile tea that should help settle your tummy.” “C’mon, let’s get to the packhouse, you joining us Auntie?” I asked her as Damien picked me up bridal style. “Sure am, I’m a bit peckish myself.” She followed us outside and asked me questions about how I have been feeling.

“Hey! Where’s my golf cart?” I asked looking around. “Needed a few repairs, should be ready to go tomorrow.” He said walking holding me tight. We made our way to the packhouse with Aunt Ebbie right next to us, we had to stop a couple of times as waves of nausea would come and go. We would come across pups heading out to school. They would wave and greet us as we walked by. The girls giggled and swooned at the sight of Damien carrying me. We could hear their ooo’s and awe’s, “I hope when I find my mate, he’s just like King Damien,” few girls whispered to each other. I was a lucky girl/she-wolf to have found Damien. I never imagined getting married so young, having a baby, and becoming the Queen of supernatural’s. Crazy!! But I am beyond happy.

“Hey what happened?” Jaz asked. “Nothing, just not feeling well and my King here won’t let me walk on my own.” I said jabbing my thumb at him. “Good morning my children!” Mom greeted cheerfully as she kissed each one of us. “Morning mom!” We all said in unison. “How are all our young royals doing this morning?” She asked. “Tired!” All us girls whined. All the males chuckled embracing their respective mate. “Pops, how’s Uncle Martin?” I asked. He finished chewing, “he’s doing better, he woke up for a few minutes.” Dad said. “Jonah went to get grama and grampa so they could eat, change and get some rest.” Cloie sighed. “Everything is gonna be fine, my love.” Noah cooed at Cloie. “Of course, he’s going to be fine.” Grampa said walking in behind granma. Jonah patted Noah on the back and hugged Cloie. “Dad was awake when I got there, he’s in good spirits, he had a small bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee.” Jonah smiled. “He would like to visit with us later.” “That’s great sweetheart.” Cloie said kissing each of her mates. “What about mom?” Noah asked. He said she’s safe. “We will need to get her here as soon as we can.” Jonah sighed in relief. “He also asked to see you.” Grampa said looking at me. I looked over at Damien. “Okay, we will head over a little later.”

“Cloie.” She looked up at me. “Please find Bea, Mac, and Duncan. I need them here.” “Sure.” She got up and scurried outta the room. “Is there something wrong sweetie?” Mom asked. “No, not at all. We just have some news to share.” Damien said stone faced not wanting to give anything away. Before anyone said anything Bea walked in with D and Mac following behind grumbling something under his breath. “Someone’s grumpy this morning.” Jyd snickered. Mac glared at him, “Mac! Behave!” Bea smacked his shoulder. “What’s wrong Mac?” Ryott asked hugging him from the side. “Nothing.” He patted Ryott’s hand and sat down. “We can talk about it later. I still have a few more calls to make first…So, what’s so important?” He asked rubbing his face. He looked tired. This has been a big change not just for me but for him, Bea, and D also. “Well first off, thanks to all of you for all the support you have given us these past several months.” Damien started. “And for also being patient and understanding with me during my transition.” I snorted lightly. “Your transition was fun.” Kolt chuckled. Jaz smacked him. “What?” He pouted rubbing his shoulder. “Anyway, we have all started new chapters in our lives, separate and together. I sometimes still don’t believe that I have found, or should I say, they found me, my family. I have grandparents and cousins. I possibly have an uncle who we aren’t sure where he stands but we’ll address that later.” I took a sip of tea.

“Reign, sweetie…” Mom smiled with tears in her eyes. “Mom…” Damien walked over to her and gave her one of his big bear hugs. “I’m pregnant!” I squealed. “Sorry, I couldn’t hold it in anymore.” Damien shook his head and chuckled at me. “NO WAY!!” Jenny cried. “SO, AM I!” “So am I!” Jazlyn, Ryott and Cloie squealed in unison as we jumped up and down in excitement. “Oh, my goddess! Five granpups!” Grams gasped. “Minimum, I still need to do ultrasounds on all of them.” Ebbie laughed. “They all just did the tests over the last several days with Reign being the last.” “You have no idea how hard it’s been keeping secrets of this size.” She said wiping her forehead. “So, she just found out?” Mac asked. “Yes, I did her test the day before the coronation.” Ebbie assured him. “Yeah, that’s only because I threw up but of course there was nothing to come up.” I said rubbing my tummy. “Morning sickness my ass!” Jen grumbled. “Mine lasts all damn day.” “Same here.” Cloie sighed. “I’m just glad that I was able to get through yesterday.” She leaned on Noah as Jonah massaged her back. “Well, you five need to relax as much as possible, we will handle the baby rooms.” Mom started. “We will set up each room for each of you and then one big one here in the packhouse. We will need to be very careful of who we bring in to help care the pups. We have to get started; they will be here before we know it.” She said taking Bea and grama by the hand. “Ana! We have work to do.” She called out. “I just got off the phone with Twinkle Star baby store, we need to be there in an hour and a half.” Ana came rushing in. “You girls rest and relax; we will take care everything.” “Mom, I would like to be a part of preparing MY baby’s room.” Cloie sighed. “Sweet girl, of course you will. We are going to gather samples, catalogs and pick a decorator so she or he can come out and get started.” Ana gleamed with excitement. “Cloie don’t argue.” I chuckled. “Fine but I will make the final decision.” Cloie told her mom. “Of course, baby.” Ana hugged her daughter. “Now that it’s settled, we need to get ready.” Grams said walking around the table kissing each of us. “We will see all of you at dinner.” Mom said being followed out by Ana and Grams. “Bea, we have a lot of work to do.” Mom signaled to Bea. Bea’s face lit up. “Love,” Dad called, “please don’t break the bank.” “Nonsense! Only the best for our granpups.” Mom huffed kissing dad and walked out with all the grama’s to be. We all laughed as they walked out.
