“Damien, I need to tell you something.” I told him. “Sure, I’m listening.” He said running his hand up and down my back. “I mentioned this to Jaz and Ryott, but we hadn’t really talked about it.” I started. “When we picked you up at the airport, I heard a voice say that you’re our mate and that I should’ve ripped the flight attendant’s arms off for touching you because you belong to us. Ever since then she pops up every now and then giving running commentary even when it isn’t asked for. I actually think that I’ve lost my mind, but she keeps telling me that I haven’t.” I rolled my eyes. “She actually threatened me to accept your proposal.” I snorted. “She loves to growl at me.” I shook my head.

He looked at me, “Jaz did say something about that. I told her we would talk about it later, but we got distracted.” He shrugged. “So, tell me about his voice.” He asked nuzzling closer into my neck. “She’s an annoying smartass pain in my ass.” I grunted. “Sounds familiar.” He chuckled. “By what you’re saying, babygirl, sounds like you are a shifter.” He titled his head. “A shifter?” “Shifter’s can hear their animal speak to them, no one else can hear them unless they mind link. Does she have a name?” “She told me to call her Nera.” I told him. “Nera, okay.” He thought for a moment. “Let me see if Ayres can connect with Nera. He’s her mate and should be able to make a connection with her.”

Ayres

His eyes clouded over and zoned out. “Ayres, I need for you to see if you can connect with Nera, she’s Reign’s beast. Our mate is a shifter of some kind.” Damien told me. “Little mate’s a shifter? “ I ask surprised. “Yeah.” My stupid human laughed. “See what you can do.” “Okay, keep little mate calm, tell her to keep her mind open and let me in.” I tell him. “I will get her settled.” About ten minutes later I feel a nudge in my mind as Damien allows me control and I begin to try to connect with little mate’s beast. “Nera.” I call out. “Please talk to me, can you hear me.” I hear a muffled voice calling me but sounds so far away, must keep trying. “Nera, mate, please come to me. Why are you hiding? “ I ask. I repeat her name over and over.

I was sad, I couldn’t find my mate. No, my sweet boy but do not fear, she will come to you soon. A beautiful female appears, not as beautiful as my little mate but beautiful. She has very long silver hair and wore a long blue gown. She look like an angel. “Do you know who I am?” she asked. “Yes, Mother Moon Goddess.” I smile and bow. “What I am about to tell you, you cannot tell your mate or your human.” She said. “But why? I don’t like to keep secrets from little mate.” I tell her. “Because your little mate is a very special she-wolf and with you and Damien by her side, she will become the Queen of Queens and you and Damien will be the King of Kings. There hasn’t been a royal family in over a hundred years. Her grandparents were the last King and Queen of the supernatural world. They will find your mate and they will tell her the truth of who she is.” She smiled at me. “There was another Alpha that wanted power, he believed that the supernatural world should rule over all kind, especially humankind. He wanted wage war against humans and rid the world of them. Only your mate along with you and Damien can bring the supernatural world and human world together. The humans still won’t know the truth about our kind, but the killing and hunting of our kind will end. You and Damien must protect her at all costs, you already know that Luther is after her, he has been looking for her since the day she was born. He wants to be the King of Kings, if he succeeds it will be the end of both realms. He has been trying to track her since her mother found out she was pregnant.” I growl at her words. “Stay calm my sweet boy. Luther is a hybrid wolf/vampire, he is over 300 years old. His true mate died over 200 years ago, when she died, he lost himself and hasn’t been able to come back from the darkness. He heard rumors of the King and Queen and he decided that he would be the King. As I said, that cannot happen, he will send every realm into chaos and death.”

“This to important, I can’t keep this from little mate and stupid human.” I say to her. She chuckled a little. “You must Ayres, they must mate and bring forth her wolf without any interference, including from you. Nera will surface and the whole supernatural realm will know that the Queen and King will be taking their rightful place. Reign’s family will find her, you will know who they are, they along with you and your family, all of you will be her most trusted. Take care of my daughter Ayres. I leave her in your loving care.” She caressed my face and disappeared like she appeared. “Ayres, I will see you soon.” I heard. “Nera. Yes, when our humans mate, I will surface.”

Damien

“Ayres.” I called to him. “Hey tiger!” I yelled; he hates when I call him tiger. “I am NO feline! “ He snapped. “You purr like one.” I teased. “You smell like one.” He growled at me. I couldn’t help but laugh at him, that just pissed him off even more. “Damien.” Reign kept shoving me. “Sorry babygirl, just messing with Ayres.” “Well, do that later.” She huffed at me. “Did he contact Nera?” Ayres surfaced and pushed me aside just enough for me to hear what he had to say. “Yes, she will appear when you and asshat mate.” This made her go into a giggle fit. She finally calmed down, “Did she tell you anything else?” She asked still snorting out little giggles. “Want to tell you but can’t.” Ayres sighed. “Why?” Reign pouted. “Please don’t pout, I hate when you pout. Goddess said I can’t tell yet. Nera said when mating with asshat complete, she will appear.” He kissed her forehead and retreated into the darkness.
